Pixar's UP

i didn't realize it was coming out so soon! definitely my plan for tomorrow night!! popcorn::

Nope, we'll be waiting for DVD on this one unless the general public reviews are really, really good. Doesn't really intrigue us much. And that review you posted wasn't exactly glowing. Takes more than pretty animation to make me want to shell out $20+ to see a movie in the theater these days.

I had the chance to see the trailer in 3D when I went to see Coraline. I have been counting down the days since. I'm not sure yet, what the plan will be but I plan on seeing it with my man. :3dglasses

DD has been raving about this movie since she saw the trailer before "Watchmen".

It is DEFINITELY one of our most anticipated summer movies - along with Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince . . .

I like the Disney/Pixar movies so I just wait for 'em to come to blu-ray and buy them then.:earsboy:

We are always looking for a good family movie, so we usually see Disney movies the first weekend they open. No difference here.... either tomorrow night or Saturday we will probably go see "UP". DS and I are excited to see it... DD and DH will probably come along for the ride and to share the M&Ms and popcorn...................P

Saw it TODAY - kids got out at 12:25, and we caught the 1 pm show.

IT WAS GREAT!!!

And the Pixar short feature before it, "Partly Cloudy" was excellent too!!

No spoilers, but Pixar does it again. And it is because they can capture real emotions and human feelings better than anyone else in the industry.

There is a sequence of scenes, near the beginning of the movie, that like Wall*E, is devoid of any dialogue, but is so touching and moving, DD and I were sobbing into our popcorn napkins.

Go see it folks. It is wonderful. :thumbsup2

Oh, my one disappointment, and it is a minor one, is that unlike the other Pixar films, there were no "outtakes" or "bloopers" or after-credit scenes.

The end is really the end, so no need to stay through the end credits.

But John Ratzenberger DOES have a character!

Arch Campbell a reviewer here in Washington, DC said that if you only see one movie this summer, see "UP".

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Took the kids to see Up this afternoon. I loved it! I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. You might need a tissue or two. I both cried and laughed throughout this movie. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

We just came back from seeing it-one of the best Pixar movies I've seen!!

I agree to bring a few tissues-there were a few moments where we both lost it :(

It was a beautiful story with a great message, really funny, & the animation was amazing! I think the MSNBC review was a little rough with the few "flaws" & I disagree with them.

We do not go to the movies very often-usually wait till they come out on DVD, but "Up" was definitely worth the high ticket price ($4 charge for the 3D glasses).

I agree that "Up" is the movie of the summer!!!:goodvibes

I probably won't be spending money to see it however, you never know.

I did just get back from Star Trek.....and wow.:thumbsup2

Fantastic movie. I saw it today in 3D and absolutely loved it! As you can tell from my avatar I am a big Pixar fan, this may have been their best movie yet. If you haven't seen it, what are you waiting for? It's a must see.

I just got back from seeing UP and I could not possibly agree any more with Deb in IA. Partly Cloudy had my kids laughing out loud. And UP was fantastic from start to finish.

Any self-respecting fan of Disney should go see this movie if you have a few bucks in your pocket. I know that sounds obnoxious but this movie is worth it.

This has got to be one of the best Disney movies since Finding Nemo. This is why I love Disney, for stories like this. Oscar hands down in March. The animation is superb and I agree with the PP's that said bring a tissue or 2. The opening sequence is beautiful, heartwarming and so touching. I laughed, I cried and many times I thought of my grandfather who has passed but he would have really loved this movie.

The kids will love it, adults will love it. Even if you don't do the 3-D go see this movie, if you are a Disney fan, its worth it.

It will totally lift "UP" your spirits!!

It's true that there were no outtakes or extra scenes, but there are a few cute things during the credits for those who want to stay to watch. Some of the badges that scroll by are very odd. We always watch the credits and we had fun trying to guess how you could earn a few of the more unusual badges.

Would someone please PM me with what happens that is sad or makes you cry? I hate crying at the movies. It gives me a terrible headache. Maybe if I know what's going to happen, I'll be prepared and won't cry.

It was a really amazing movie. But it made me cry, as well as a few of the guys in the theather. I saw it on Wendsday night for a work preview so i'm not sure if just how late it was made me more emotional or what.

The animation was amazing. The scenery looked so real. Its pretty much the only movie I've seen lately that I'm recommending.
