Pixar's UP

DS18 saw this movie last night with a group of friends and was telling me the storyline today; I almost cried just from how he described it (the montage, etc)!! :sad1:

I should add that I was crying within the first 2 minutes of "Finding Nemo", too, and I haven't lived that one down yet! LOL

This does sound like a very well-made and well-written movie; I hadn't intended on buying it when it comes out on DVD, but I definitely will now!

Woohoo, indeed, to the great box office! I can't wait to see this weekend's numbers, because it seems like this is getting great word of mouth. I'll tell you what, I am a big Pixar fan, but I can't get over how much I loved this movie! Up may be the movie that finally pushes me into buying that Blu-Ray player I've been wanting for a while.

And may I just say that I have been sitting here listening to the soundtrack. :cloud9::love::cloud9: Pleasepleaseplease let Michael Giacchino get an Oscar for this! :worship:

I saw the movie tonight in 3D - a 6pm show on a Monday night and it was completely sold out (as was the show after ours), and I all I heard when we were leaving was people saying how they were going to see it again. I think it's going to be a big hit.

It was amazingly good. Even better than WALL*E, which I didn't even think would be possible. I had heard that the opening montage was sad, so I was prepared for it, and all things considered it wasn't nearly as devastating as the opening scene of Finding Nemo, but it was a beautiful opening.

It was actually a later scene that reminded me of It's a Wonderful Life (which is one of my all-time favorite movies) that I definitely clearing my throat a little, but it was beautifully told and even though the movie had some sad parts, it didn't drag the movie down at all. In fact, I don't think I laughed this much at a Pixar film since Dory tried to speak whale.

I've always thought Pixar was the heir to Walt Disney, and this movie completely confirmed that for me. Great film. :goodvibes

My family saw it and loved it! Dug reminds me a lot of my little dog Matthias. I definitely was teary eyed during a couple of moments during the movie, but it was a wonderful movie. It had just the right mix of humor and seriousness. One thing I have always loved about Pixar is the focus is on the story, so the jokes make sense and the humor is more subtle. When I saw Monsters vs. Aliens there were several moments that were just awful (to me) because they made no sense, it was humor for humor's sake and just not funny. I'm glad that Pixar doesn't stoop to that.
