Pixar's UP

I just saw it this evening, and it was great! Funny and sad and sweet, and I agree that the animation was outstanding. I loved the story!! This was worth the $11.50.

The kids and I are going to see it tomorrow...can't wait!:cool1:

What is this short Partly Cloudy? I didn't see any short.

There was a preview for a movie coming out called Partly Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

But seriously...I loved this movie. It was truly amazing.

It was really cute. I just got home from seeing it, well worth the wait. I absolutely adored the dogs, couldn't have gone thru the movie without them. Looking forwards to it coming out on DVD :woohoo:

The short called "Partly Cloudy" is supposed to run with "Up" - though oddly some theaters seem to be leaving it off. If you've seen the other Pixar movies you probably remember some of the other Pixar shorts: "Presto" (about the magician and rabbit) ran with Wall-E, "Boundin" was with Cars (I think), etc.

"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" is different. We had that preview, also. It's a movie that comes out this fall that is based on a kids' book. It is not a Pixar movie, though it does look cute.

We saw "Up" and really enjoyed it. The dogs were just fabulous...anyone who has ever had/known a dog will laugh at the doggie humor!

This movie had a bittersweet tone to it and we didn't find ourselves laughing out loud as much as we did while watching, say, Monsters Inc. but it was just so clever and really had a "wow" factor! I highly recommend it for all ages.

Ya'll have me convinced! We were going to see Night at the Museum but instead we're going to Up! :thumbsup2

Question - there are two theaters I can choose from near me. About the same distance to each, both nice. One says "Playing in Disney Digital 3D" on Fandango and the other says Disney Digital 3D as well as "Real 3D."

Is there a difference?

The "Real 3D- Click for more Info" says that you have to wear glasses where the Disney Digital 3D one doesn't mention glasses. Am I just really out of touch, or don't you always have to wear glasses in a 3D movie?

:confused3

My brother works for Pixar and worked on this movie. He told me about the story and said it was going to be great! I'm glad to see that other agree. I will probably see it today. Did you see it in 2D or 3D?

Would someone please PM me with what happens that is sad or makes you cry? I hate crying at the movies. It gives me a terrible headache. Maybe if I know what's going to happen, I'll be prepared and won't cry.

Ugh, I agree ....I don't want to go to the movies to cry. I guess we'll wait for the dvd.

I'm getting the girls fed and taking them to the 10am showing this morning. We're going to see the 3d version.

We saw it yesterday, it was SO GOOD!

We saw the short in the 3-D theater.

I was not balling but just teary-eyed. Some of that was due to the joy of the movie. Nobody in our theater was balling.

:sad1: It isn't going to be playing here at our lame theater... no Up for me.

We hope to see it on Monday or Tuesday.

I read a couple of reviews that say the 2-D version is actually better than the 3-D version, so we might save a few $ and see it in 2-D.

For those who have seen the movie, have you noticed any Hidden Mickeys? I noticed in the previews that the ball the girl in the high rise is playing with is the same ball that was introduced in Toy Story. We love looking for Hidden Mickeys in Disney/Pixar films!

A friend of mine saw it, really liked it, and is going to see it again tonight.

We got back from seeing it and it was good. No crying here, but there are parts that are sad. The funny parts make up for it. One part had me laughing so hard that my eyes were tearing.

Is it good for a 2 1/2 and 4 year old? I really want to see it after reading all your reviews!

It was a fantastic movie, Pixar does what Walt always said about the movies: "for every laugh there should be a tear". There was a sad part in the beginning, but it moved the movie forward. I think this is my favorite Pixar movie, we LOVED it.
