Pirates Cruise All Booked

Hi,
I was trying to book the Pirates Cruise for our Feb. 22-27 trip. The cruise is all booked up on the days we're there. My 2 DS have been so excited to do this. What are the chances that there will be cancelations?

What's a pirates cruise? I haven't been to DW since 1997. We're planning a trip for June 2005 for 7 days and then a 3 night cruise on the Wonder. I don't want to miss anything while I'm there.

Last year my friend with 6 yr old twin boys, was only able to get 1 spot each on two different days. She kept calling and in a few days was able to get them on together as a cancellation came in.

So..... keep calling. Its not impossible that a cancellation may come in. Even if you get 1 spot take it and then keep calling trying to secure another spot on the same day or 2 spots on a different day. If in the end you can only get 1 spot you can cancel so that neither of your sons is left out. Don't know what the cancellation time is but I would keep calling even while you are already at Disney.

By the way- firstcruiser - a pirate cruise is for children only (no parents allowed) and leaves from the Grand Floridian marina. Each child is given a lifejacket, a pirate bandana and they cruise on a boat with two CM's one who is a certified lifeguard I believe. They go from resort beach, to resort beach with a pirate burried treasure map and look for treasure. When my DD went years ago they were given an icecream but i think now they get a snack instead. They return about 2 hours later with all kinds of cute pirate treasure. Don't know the age limit though I thought it was 3-12 or so.

Pirate Cruise - Children wear pirate bandannas and follow clues to search Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon for buried treasure. They sail to many exotic "ports of call" (Resort Marinas) to collect treasure. At the final port of call, children have a snack and split up the "buried treasure." Children who are potty trained (no pull-ups) and ages 4-10 may attend. Lunch is provided (Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, Gummy bears, Krispy Treat and Juice box).

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Available to all guests, Cost is $28.17 plus tax.

"We did this the last day and it was probably my boys' favorite activity. They get a pirate hat with Mickey ears, available no where else. They load up on a boat with a Jolly Roger flag and go around the lake looking for treasure. I'm not sure exactly what they do because parents don't get to go along. But they come back with a bag full of loot and grinning from ear to ear, saying all kinds of pirate lingo. That's when my boys decided we could just live at the Grand Floridian!" Carie Lackey, 6/03

:: I recently spoke to Captain Ron about this cruise. Capt Ron pilots these cruises and also IllumiNations Cruises from Bayside Marina. He enjoys the children so much, and he told me the entire trip. It sounds like so much fun for the kids. As word of this gets around it will be harder and harder to book. BTW, it's a firm rule, NO PARENTS ALLOWED! So don't buy yourself a ticket and expect to bully your way onto the boat. ::

Just an FYI, I'm almost postive they changed the reservations from 120 days to 90 daysbefore. Can some one confirm that? TIA

We are going in July and wondered if our DD11 would be able to go on this cruise. Our DS4 would love to go, but I am nervous to let him go by himself. Would they really enforce the age limits? Would there be any other girls on this cruise?
