Pirates and Pals - is it worth it?

My son wants to do both the kids-only pirate cruise and the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise. The latter seems kind of spendy at $60 for an adult seat. However, this also seems kind of like the other dessert parties, except with theming and character interactions (and it appears Hook/Smee are difficult characters to meet).

So, has anyone done it and what do you think? How does it compare to the Illumination and Wishes dessert parties, or to other paid events? Did your kids enjoy this vs other pirate offerings?

We haven't done any of the other dessert parties, but enjoyed the pirates and pals cruise! Before you set sail you get to mingle with other guests, grab snacks (popcorn, cookies, ice cream bars, Popsicles, pretzels etc). I think snacks can be taken on the boat as well.

You get to meet/greet hook and Smee and take pics before the boat ride. They do not ride with you.

The pirates that take you on board are hilarious. Basically a stand up comedy routine pirate style. They play a trivia game and kids get treasure prizes at the end of the ride if they didn't get something during the trivia game.

Great view of fireworks.

Kenny the pirate did a great write up about it if you search his site.

We have done it last three trips, and love it!!! Our kids (dd8 and ds3) love it!!

We do Wishes Dessert party as well--- and love it--- but Pitates and Pals our fave!

We did it in September 2012 and thought it was alot of fun. We got to spend alot of time with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. We enjoyed watching Wishes from a comfy seat with no one in front of us.

Thanks guys, just booked it for myself and my 7 y/o. I dunno who is more excited, him for the snacks or me to meet Captain Hook ( :worship: villains :lovestruc ). I am bummed that there weren't available seats for my parents to go - any chance some will open up? We're booked for July 15th.
