Pirate & Princess Party Review - Don't Come Hungry!

Has anyone seen Meg from Hercules or Esmeralda from the Hunchback of Notre Dame at this event?

We are going on Feb 13th - haven't booked a meal yet and now think maybe we should. Is Pico Bill (? think that is what it is called) open at all or just sitdown and snacks? We have park hopper passes - so we could go early and get a ressie somewhere - not sure what would be available at this late date. Any suggestions for a good spot to book if it is available?

Thanks,
Helen

Those who have gone to the P&P party:

Were the Wishes fireworks the same as the special P&P fireworks? I remember hearing in Oct. during MNSSHP that the Hallowishes were shown every night and that the regular wishes were not.

We have never seen the original wishes and had planned to see them this trip but if they are the same ones we see on P&P night that it may not mean we have to tweak our itinerary to fit them in.

Thanks!

Does anyone know if the chocolate is safe for people with peanut/tree nut allergies??
I guess I haven't thought about this ahead of time, but if it is not, I will have to prepare my DD ahead of time...raisins will not be a :thumbsup2 alternative!

hi. I haven't read the whole thread but I wanted to answer your question in case you hadn't had an answer.

The candies we received were hershey's kisses, Nestle's treasures, Heshey's nuggets and palmers chocolate coins. I know some of the Nestle's treasures and hershey's nuggets had nuts in them. I'm not sure if the others are safe for you. But I figured with the correct names you could look it up.

Oh and I went and dug through my suitcases just now to be sure and give you the correct names!!:goodvibes

Does anyone know the answer if we order out tickets, on line, what time would we be able to enter the park, at 4pm or at 7 pm?

Anyone going Feb 23 ???

Thanks

Patricia

No they are not the same fireworks as Wishes. They are wonderful. I haven't seen fireworks this good since New years eve 1999! they have a lot of character interactions and voices as part of the show. Don't miss the fireworks if you can avoid it. My DD 2 was asleep but my DD4 was stillup and enjoying them. Crying afterwards cause we left right away then!

Have fun!!!

A couple of questions:

- Does anyone know on average how many tickets they are selling for this event? From what everyone is saying, it sounds like it is around half of the tickets they sell for MNSSHP.

Thanks in advance.

I went to the second party on the 26th. I was talking to a CM at Astro orbiter and she said the first party had about 6000 folks.

Our night was busier than that but still awesome for low crowds.

I think the best time was after Wishes, but before the party orignially started when lines were way way way low, as well as after the second parade.

I have a new 5 year old and a 7.5 year old who closed the party down. We didn't do a park that morning (Pirate cruise for one and Princess Tea for the other) and we got to the park at 5PM for a great dinner at LTT and then the party.

I watched Wishes for the first time that night and then watched the fireworks for the party. The party fireworks wer so much better . Just amazing.

Can kids get autographs at the meet and greets or is it pictures w/ the characters or what? My DD was an autograph hound during our last trip so I'm just trying to plan a bit!

My 5-year old came close to filling her autograph book on the night of the first P&P party. We were back at Toon Town at 7:30 and had no trouble collecting photos, hugs and autographs from a whole slew of characters...

Others have answered but allow me to add my 2-cents...

The P&P fireworks are different from Wishes and they are OUTSTANDING! IMHO (as a first-time visitor) they're close to being woth the price of addmission by themselves. Throw in the fine parade (which I did NOT find to be lacking in pirates) and the character enhanced "dance partys" and you've got the makings of a fine evening...

Were the characters dressed as pirates or princesses at LTT?

We went 1/26 and had a great time. We found the parade really enjoyable there was pretty much an even mix of pirates and princesses. Loved the Jack Sparrow float the best. The ghost pirates are awsome. They will come right into the crowd and play tricks on you.
As far as the treasure spots. The lines were not long at all. We walked right through. At the end of the night there was cast members there just throwing beads at the people walking by. We saw plenty of characters all throughout the park. My daughters really loved dancing with chip and dale in cosmics. that was great.
Ride lines were nothing which was great - less then 5 min wait to space mountain:yay: :yay: :yay:
We will go again.

We went to the first P&P Party. We stood in line for 45 minutes to meet Captain Jack Sparrow. DD6 wanted to see him. So at 10:45 we got in line. He was well worth the wait. He looked and acted just like Johnny Depp.

A few days later we returned to MK. Stood in line 2 minutes to meet Captain Jack again. I was excited, but disappointed that we wasted so much time at the P&P Party standing in line. So remember, this isnt the only time he is out.

No, unfortunately the LTT characters are in their regular colonial outfits. I was a little disappointed since I was told by a CM when I made my ADR that they would be dressed special for the party. However, the CMs and characters did seem to be very excited and there was a lot of energy in the room. After seeing the lack of food options later (we even had trouble finding bottled water) we were very glad that we arrived early and had a big dinner at LTT.

thanks for posting, you know FOOD is my only BEEF with the parties!!! I always tell myself not to do a TS the night of the party, as we are all TOO EXCITED, but thankfully our bellies (and thighs) are full.

Come midnight, I am more than ready for a snack....with a side of champagne of course!pixiedust:
