Pirate & Princess Party Review - Don't Come Hungry!

Thumbs down!

I've been waiting to hear what this consisted of before I made it a point to attend. I can see those Princesses anytime. I'll wait to see the photos, but anything that promises pirates and is light on pirates is probably going to be light on me. pirate:

I agree. They never seem to do enough to keep the boys happy. I have 2 boys and I am sick to death of all the princess stuff. I love the princesses, but come on! Between the parades and the character meals it seems like Disney is constantly catering to their little girl clients. Just once I would like to see something really special for the boys. I love all the pirate stuff as well, and would love to see an really cool Pirate parade!

We went to the first PPP on January 22. Even though it rained quite a bit, it was awesome. The rain let up after about 8:00.

My only disappointment was that we chose to stand in line to see Cinderella in Toontown and we ended up being in line for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. In looking back, I should have used that time more wisely.

The fireworks show was the best I have ever seen. I loved the parade. We skipped most of the treasure spots because of the lines. The lines for the rides were very short if not non-existant. My daughter was chosen to go on a treasure hunt in the store behind Magic Carpets of Aladdin and received a princess hat. Both of my daughters loved dancing at Ariel's Grotto. My son had a good night too. He met up with some pirates at about 11:30 at the Town Square in Main Street and that made his night. He was also given a light up skull by a nice lady we met while waiting for the first parade.

I have never been to a special ticket event at Disney, but I thought it was great. I hope they keep doing this in the Spring. We would be sure to go again. I seriously thought about buying tickets for the party on January 26, but it was the night before we left and we had to pack.:rotfl2:

I wish I was back in Disney now. It is more fun than "real life"!!!

We went to the party on 1/26. We saw Captain Jack to the left of the Pirates ride in a "storytime" session that was scheduled. Of course, he was on top of the pirate float!!! My 13 year old DD and I LOVED this party! I was skeptical of staying because of not having a little one but it was the highlight of our trip! LOVED IT!!!!

wanted to bump up and get a few more reviews, if possible! :)

Also we just got our tickets for monday the 26th, hopefully there will be NO rain that is our worry but i've heard here that it really want that bad when it was raining

We got tickets for 3/5!! I had to get myself to this party.

The only dinner reservations I could get (CP) was at 3:50. Do you think that they'll let us be 15-20 minutes late for an ADR?? I'm going to try to get a better time, but it was full since I made all of the plans late due to this last minute trip!

I am so excited!!

Hello,
We're heading to WDW next week and I'm considering taking my daughters to the Pirate and Princess Party. Since they are young (2 & 4) I was thinking that perhaps we would just attend the party, arriving in the late afternoon.

My question is this: other posters have said (speculated?) that if you only have a P&PP ticket you can enter the park at 4PM. However, I just spoke with someone at Disney reservations and she said that guests with P&PP tickets only will not be admitted until 7. I told her that this contradicted what I had read, so she put me on hold and called someone else and then confirmed that this was indeed the case. She said that if you were already in the park you could pick up your party stuff at 4PM, but if you did not have a park ticket you would not be admitted until 7. So what's the real story? Has anyone entered the park before 7 with just a P&PP ticket??

Thanks for your help!

Attending the 3/8 P&PP and have reservations for the LT at 5:45. This is our arrival days and since our boys are (2 & 4) we also are planning to only attend the party. When I spoke with the Disney reservations desk they said as long as I gave them the PS number there should be no problem getting into the parks before the 7:00 time. Of course I'd also love confimation from someone who has already done this as I know sometimes different parts within DW don't talk to each other and it can get very confusing.

We attended the P&PP on 1/26 and it was incredible! We had a 6:05 ADR at Tonys which helped the park to clear out some before we ventured out.

As long as you have a P&PP ticket you can enter the park at 4pm.

The treasure cove lines gave us no problems we were in and out of them fairly quickly.

The character lines did take longer but this is to be expected with kids having pictures and getting autographs

When you enter the park they hand you a small black bag with strings to hold your loot--The ground was littered with these strings!

The buildings were lit up in pinks and purples and they had lights that formed shapes thruout the park--swords,pirate ship, treasure map etc

We chose to not go on any rides but instead devote our time to the activities of the evening

The parade was great but the fireworks were outstanding!! they set them off from two different locations at the same time so my head was whipping back and forth to catch them all!!

We would definitely go to this event again if it was offered on our next trip.

So what's the real story? Has anyone entered the park before 7 with just a P&PP ticket??

Thanks for your help!

We attended the 1st party on 1/22 and entered the park at 4:15pm using only a P&P ticket (We did NOT have a dinner ressie either). The cast members didn't event bat an eyelash. We were not 100% sure that we would be let in early because when we called the park to ask we received 4 different answers. Of course the tickets do say 7:30pm is the "official" start time for the party and Disney has a right to change the admitting times as they see fit.

It's unfortunate that Disney phone reps can't give a consistent answer for something as simple as an admission time. Someone should walk the plank!!! pirate:

I feel fairly comfy w/ all the feed back from here that we will get in at 4pm when we go in a few weeks, but would love to keep hearing it and hopefully we will keep hearing it here too... i also plan to call tomorrow to try and get a varified answer. THANKS! :)

Can anyone tell me where they have seen Captain Jack at?

I caught him (literally!) by the main exit at the end of Main Street as we were leaving at about midnight. I don't know if he's there for every party but it was such an unexpected ending to a great trip!

I don't know what time the fireworks were, but I work at Boardwalk, and several fellow castmembers who were outside during them said they were fantastic. Even from that far away. I think they may have been at 9, but I'm not sure on that.

Actually, just read a post that said 9:45, which makes perfect sense! Some nights from my house I can hear tremendous booms, but I think, "IllumiNations is over! What gives!" Now I know. I can hear these darned things way down here in Celebration! Cool, well, I got date night this Friday, 2/23 with my son for P&P. Can't wait!
