Pin number confusion

I requested the Disney DVD and was getting pricing info online for a Dec 2009 trip. (Of course no prices for 2009 yet...) Anyhow, they sent me a pin (email) that doesn't seem to have an expiration date...very confusing email actually. Says $82/nt at a Value resort or 30% off....does that mean 30% off OTHER resorts? Anyone know if I can use this pin to book a 2009 package???

2009 pricing will not come out until sometime in August. I can't image that it would be good for that long. Here's to hoping for you.

Yes, you are correct...it's not good for 2009. I just called and they said the code is valid for ROOM ONLY reservation. I asked if we booked ROOM ONLY can we then later ADD the Dining Plan and tickets and she said that when we booked it we would have to see if it would allow dining to be added. I cannot IMAGINE DIsney would give me a room and NOT allow someone to add tickets and dining...right??? That seems insane to me. After all, i don't think I'd actually be spending $40 of food perday if not for the dining plan...i'd eat alot cheaper.

That is always a possibility. Not probable. But possible.
A room only is of course just that -- a room only.
By adding DDP or anything else, you are going from a room only res to a WDTC package.
Esp with a code for a room only, your room rate could possibly change.
But no one can book a room only and then add dining and tickets, or whatever other WDTC components. There are a few exceptions such as DVC members booking on points.
But as a general public rule of thumb, for dining you will need to book a WDTC package.

So what you are saying is that adding Dining and Tickets would turn it into a package and therefore you cannot do that with a room only code?

My email had dates on the bottom that you could use the code- not for 2009. It was the same as yours though, $82 a night for value or 30% off.

I used the 30% code & they told me I can add the DDP & tickets later and my room rate wouldnt change. I made some more ADRs today & they told me the same. Havent booked the plan or tickets yet though, so we shall see....

I got the same email and you can book it as a package, but the CM has to do a little work.

I had to go through a couple of TAs and calling myself before Dreams Unlimited was able to get it for me.

See the PIN is attached to a 3 letter code. The code is for room only, but there is a sister code that works on packages, but the CM has to find it.

I know that a lot more people than me have been able to book as a package with this email.

AHHHH thank you. Now I feel better. SO if at first you don't succeed...try, try again! Now I just have to pray to get a pin/code for next December! haha Anyone know if you have better chance if you apply for Disney Visa??

I doubt it. But then again you never know. I know with using Disney Visa you have 6 months interest free to pay off vacation to WDW
