Don't remember that Country Bear Variation but do have one from the Christmas one back in '98. I asked when we were there a couple months ago if they still did that and got completely blank stares from the CM's who were probably too young to remember it!
Does anybody have a picture of the Catholic Mass that was offered at the Polynesian Resort where they do the Luau's?? It used to be every week but now everyone goes to Mary Queen of the Universe!
Thanks for the old memories of the Dolphin and Swan. I was first there in 1991 for 3 weeks, not long after opening. The fabric ceiling drape in the Dolphin was fabulous. On another visit, I saw workers cleaning the drape in place. It was a huge job! Palio is where my DD held her wedding dinner.
The light fixture in your Swan pic had the "Stars and Squiggles" theme. That original Dolphin and Swan logo was everywhere -- lights, printed matter, down to napkins and coasters. Sad when this theme disappeared in a style update. But in 2013 I was looking around and found some original Stars and Squiggles lights at the covered Swan bus stop:
2 HOURS! Dang, that's a commitment to one attraction! Must have taken some serious planning to work it in with all the other shows at HS, like Beauty and the Beast, Indiana Jones, Lights Motors Action, Little Mermaid...
I know somebody already posted this one, but I am so bummed they are gone! They picked my FIL to be King Arthur, which is SO outside his comfort zone! He did great, though, and it was so much fun watching him.
I had so much fun going through this thread. I won't lie and say I didn't shed a tear looking at some of this stuff! Especially the old videos. I'll be digging through some pictures this weekend to see if I can find any gold to post!
This was April, 1990. Performers in the Germany pavilion. My younger sis on the left, me on the right. New Kids On The Block and Joey McIntyre shirts, and fanny packs. Oh, and sunglasses on neck straps
I love this board! I really like the Sleeping Beauty in a blue dress. Your most likely never going to see that again. Thank you everyone for the good memories!
