Had to create an account to show off this beauty. Been traveling down from Charleston, SC since I was 2 weeks old in 1978. I really miss the old days "roughing it" at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds and riding these gorgeous buses late at night around the loops.
Top 5 things I miss from WDW:
1. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire-Play It! Attraction. My whole family would spend all day there until we all made it in to the hot seat. That may be a reason they got rid of it since we weren't spending additional money in the parks. Still have all my pins, lanyards, and shirts. Never got the leather jacket or cruise trip
2. Off Kilter. Di$ney not renewing the contracts of these guys and Mo Rockin' is really hurting me and thousands of other loyal fans and keeping me away from the parks, to be honest. All my Disney money is going to the cruise lines now. Bring 'em back, 'ya bean counters!
3. No-expiration tickets. Aaargh!!! I could usually stretch a 10 day ticket 2-3 years. Another reason I'm on a WDW hiatus.
4. Image Works on the 2nd floor of Journey to Imagination. I can still feel the needles under the pin table 30 years later.
5. As you can probably tell from my screen name I miss Horizons. If you didn't vote to soar over the fields of Mesa Verde, you didn't travel with me.
I just realized that most of these were great attractions at EPCOT that are no more. That used to be my favorite park. If I had to choose now, I'd probably say Animal Kingdom.
Speaking of EPCOT, does anyone remember in the mid-90's a virtual reality game setup (probably in Innoventions) where they selected people out of the audience to put on the big VR headgear and "fly" a magic carpet around Agrabah from Aladdin while the audience looked on? First to find some kind of big jar, I think. It was an early time in that sort of tech and kind of a big deal at the time. I was picked as a teenager and actually won. Wish I had a picture of that.
Sorry for the long first post. Hope others remember this awesome bus and brings back good memories for them too.
