I love seeing where everybody lives! More places to add to my list of "places to see before I die." ;)

Great pics everybody!!:thumbsup2

Tinksdad- where are the two below taken? I love that southwestern windswept rock landscape. We'll be in NM later this year and would love to explore some areas like the below.

A sampling from New Mexico

There are some absolutely beautiful shots here...keep them coming.:thumbsup2

beautiful shots everyone! i'll have to get some pictures when it's not so rainy here. the fall is the best in western ma though.

wkrider, looks like you're got the hang of your new camera awfully quick!

I don't have much worth sharing... I have a few "OK" local ones but nothing online. I'll see if I can throw something together to contribute - don't expect much from Rochester especially in the winter, though. It's been very drab and gray for a while now...

I have been meaning to find a good vantage point and take some night photos of downtown, especially the Kodak building, which is pretty neat.

They were taken a the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument Northwest of Albuquerque. Neat place! If you want to hike, take the walk through the slot canyon to the mesa top is great little hike. Many different spots to take pictures. I didn't wait for sunset, but that would be a GREAT time!!

The link is pretty good, you can find more if you google Tent Rocks.

Our weather is not real desirable here at the moment. Hopefully it will warm up soon and I can get a few beach/sunset/lighthouse pictures to post.

Still messing with the manual settings....practicing with shutter speed first...I am also practicing with the two lenses that I had from my old camera. I set them on auto then my camera for manual focus since they are not auto focus...I like that the camera light will come on and it will beep when in it is focus. I have noticed that it is extremely sensitive when focusing manual, over just a little one way or the other and WAMMO out of focus. I do like it though.

I can relate to those still having cruddy weather. Here's it's still overcast and winter-y, expecting snow tomorrow. :(

I have a few more - from the home of the Pilgrims - Plymouth Harbor, Plymouth, MA - taken last fall.

Nice! So exactly what is an "Lobster Excusion"????

We've been bug (loving term for lobsters) hunting in Florida on Scuba, does that count??? :rotfl2:

I don't know which is worse, searching for "bugs" or lobsters. ;)

"The Lobster Excursion lets you experience "First Hand" how lobsters get from the ocean to your plate. Also discover other mysteries that lie beneath historic Plymouth Harbor."

photo_chick, was your dad in the Coast Guard? If so, have you've seen The Guardian? I also wanted to tell you I've read about LadyBird Johnson's Beautification Campaign, but I don't think I've ever seen a sweeter representation of it. Thanks for sharing the picture - and the story!

I am loving this thread. It is so interesting. I really wish I had something to contribute - but I don't have anything that I like enough to share. I need to get out more with my camera.

A few from England. This church dates back to the 13th century and our old house over looked it. We now live on the other side of it (but can still see it).

This is taken from my DHs office window..

and this one from the London Eye (about 20 miles from where I live and 5 mins from DHs work). This one I had to photoshop as it was raining and the capsule glass was covered in raindrops!

Here are a few from my hometown area. I live about an hour from this area now, but still go down there regularly:

Cape Cod Canal. You can see the railroad bridge in the foreground and the Bourne Bridge in the background:

Here is a part of the Onset Town Pier about 1/2 a mile from my parents house:

This is Cohasset Harbor, a bit further away from me, probably closer to Pea-N-Me but still nice:

I thought I had my pic's from Plymouth (next town over where where I grew up), but apparently I haven't uploaded them yet. I'll have to do that soon and add them to this thread.

One more. Lexington Town Green. Made famous during the Revolutionary War:

Is that glass modern looking building as big as it appears in the picture?? It looks like its almost as high as London Bridge but I'm sure it's just the angle. DH and I were in London in our early 20's about 15+ years ago and I'm assuming it has been built since then, it looks new and I sure don't remember seeing a building of that size when we were there, it almost looks out of place.

Nice pics BTW, brings back memories...especially the shot of Big Ben, DH still chuckle to this day about us getting lost in our rental car trying to get OUT of London and before we knew it we were right next to Big Ben headed INTO the city, ugh!! When we asked for directions at the car rental place on how to easily get out of the city it sounded fairly simple, just a turn here and a turn there, but it didn't turn out that way!! And this was DH's first trip out of the New England area with the exception of going to Florida once so it was quite an adventure for him at the time, especially with us being so young!! I'd love to get back one of these days though, seeing your pictures really reminded me of that.

I have just bought a new camera (Canon s3is an hour ago!!) and over the weekend I am hoping to get out and about to get some more photos - perhaps on the Gold Coast.
I am loving seeing all your photos - they are so scenic. We don't get snow or fall colour leaves, so those photos just look gorgeous.

Durham Bulls ballpark, made famous in the movie "Bull Durham" (for the purists, this is the "new" ballpark).
