I don't have much worth sharing... I have a few "OK" local ones but nothing online. I'll see if I can throw something together to contribute - don't expect much from Rochester especially in the winter, though. It's been very drab and gray for a while now...

I have been meaning to find a good vantage point and take some night photos of downtown, especially the Kodak building, which is pretty neat.

They were taken a the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument Northwest of Albuquerque. Neat place! If you want to hike, take the walk through the slot canyon to the mesa top is great little hike. Many different spots to take pictures. I didn't wait for sunset, but that would be a GREAT time!!

Still messing with the manual settings....practicing with shutter speed first...I am also practicing with the two lenses that I had from my old camera. I set them on auto then my camera for manual focus since they are not auto focus...I like that the camera light will come on and it will beep when in it is focus. I have noticed that it is extremely sensitive when focusing manual, over just a little one way or the other and WAMMO out of focus. I do like it though.

I don't know which is worse, searching for "bugs" or lobsters.

photo_chick, was your dad in the Coast Guard? If so, have you've seen The Guardian? I also wanted to tell you I've read about LadyBird Johnson's Beautification Campaign, but I don't think I've ever seen a sweeter representation of it. Thanks for sharing the picture - and the story!

A few from England. This church dates back to the 13th century and our old house over looked it. We now live on the other side of it (but can still see it).

This is taken from my DHs office window..

and this one from the London Eye (about 20 miles from where I live and 5 mins from DHs work). This one I had to photoshop as it was raining and the capsule glass was covered in raindrops!

Here are a few from my hometown area. I live about an hour from this area now, but still go down there regularly:

This is taken from my DHs office window..

Is that glass modern looking building as big as it appears in the picture?? It looks like its almost as high as London Bridge but I'm sure it's just the angle. DH and I were in London in our early 20's about 15+ years ago and I'm assuming it has been built since then, it looks new and I sure don't remember seeing a building of that size when we were there, it almost looks out of place.

Nice pics BTW, brings back memories...especially the shot of Big Ben, DH still chuckle to this day about us getting lost in our rental car trying to get OUT of London and before we knew it we were right next to Big Ben headed INTO the city, ugh!! When we asked for directions at the car rental place on how to easily get out of the city it sounded fairly simple, just a turn here and a turn there, but it didn't turn out that way!! And this was DH's first trip out of the New England area with the exception of going to Florida once so it was quite an adventure for him at the time, especially with us being so young!! I'd love to get back one of these days though, seeing your pictures really reminded me of that.

I have just bought a new camera (Canon s3is an hour ago!!) and over the weekend I am hoping to get out and about to get some more photos - perhaps on the Gold Coast.
I am loving seeing all your photos - they are so scenic. We don't get snow or fall colour leaves, so those photos just look gorgeous.
