These are some shots of Brisbane and surrounds from Mt. Coot-tha (pronounced Koo-thuh). Tho Botanic Gardens are at the base of Mt Coot-tha and the local television stations have their studios and towers up here. The views are quite lovely, but today wasn't the best weather - a bit cloudy and quite glary.

I noticed this cool reflection from my front window.

The circle of life on a small scale. Looks like a turkey dinner to a spider.

thanks

all the pictures i've posted are from 2004 until this summer (when i bought my first dig camera)

believe it or not we don't go out as much as i want to, but when we do i love to take pictures of everything and video, that's my therapy. love the memories

Wednesdays are a pretty easy work day for me so I got up a bit earlier than normal and got some early morning shots of Boston:

These are all from the Longfellow Bridge looking west down the Charles River. Got there just a bit before sunrise. I would have liked to have stayed a bit longer once the sun got well over all the buildings on the east side of town, but then I'd run into to much traffic.

Hancock Building and Town along with the Prudential Building (about 5:30am):

Rowing is a HUGE recreation on the Charles River and they start early. I think I saw at least 2 dozen boats just from this area. Further down the Charles more rowers go out from M.I.T and Harvard:

The Hancock Building and Hancock Tower, the round building you see in the middle is the Hat Shell. That is where The Boston Pops plays year for the 4th of July celebration. Around 500,000 people show up in and around the area every year for that concert and fireworks show:

Another final shot sometime around 6:10am:

Afterwork I took a ride to the North Shore to visit Rockport, MA. My first time there, what a great little seaside town! Can't wait to go back in the winter when the sun sets earlier to get some more shots.

This is Motif #1. Its an old fishing shack and is THE most painted/photographed building in the United States. I wish that boat docked on the left wasn't there and I probably could have made a tighter crop to not get the top of the pylon in. Oh well....

Nice pics.

i love West Virginia. I will be in St. Albans in 2 weeks visiting family. i have over 500 pics from WV alone.

Here are a few from my favorite vacation "bench"! I love going down to the "little beach" as it's locally known - and it truly is a little beach. It's just a small patch of sand with a tiny little 10x10 dock and a "bench"!

But the view is wonderful. To my left I have this -

( it was gray and raining so I played in PS and added a light filter to the photo, it looked a bit drab at first, but this is better I think)

To my right in the evening I enjoy this-

The photos don't even begin to do it justice. I've never shot sunsets before so I'm sure this could be lots better - suggestions please! But anyway, it's a beautiful spot and I find myself meandering down there just for the few moments alone every day!!

There are many gorgeous photos on this thread! I'm glad I found it!

Here are just a few from my little corner of the world:

(sorry about the dates on the photos)

These are from the Manitoba Legislature, a beautiful building that they claim would be "unbuild-able" today because it would cost over a billion $. I was part of a private tour that got me up on the roof and gave me a much closer perspective of some of the ornaments/statues on the top. Unfortunately, it was rushed so I didn't have time to set shots up properly...still I'm not complaining!

The grand entrance:

I have some pics of the exterior of the same building and its grounds:

cpbjgc, in your second photo, right up in that final dome under the Boy, is where we got to stick our heads out! Unfortunately, the final climb was very steep - a ladder going straight up with metal inverted "v" steps that my shoes kept slipping on - so I had to hang on for dear life and couldn't get a photo. It's just a trap door, about 2 feet by 2 feet. Too bad - would have been a great persepective of the Golden Boy!

and I am not sure you could show that "perspective" on a family oriented board :scared: :rotfl2:

But seriously, that sounds like a cool tour! Is it through the Legislature or someone else?

a friend of a friend works there and pulled some strings. Apparently, they've only had to "fireman-lift" one woman down - I almost made it 2 (it was scarey!)

Heres some from around my area (mainly edinburgh as thats where i spend most of my day!)
