Is there anyway that I can download new photos from my card directly into a labeled folder? And what's the difference between a catalogue and folder and subfolder? Sorry for the duh questions? And thanks for any advice.:flower3:

I am not sure I completely understand the question but I will give it a try:

Downloading images directly from the memory card to a folder is usually done with a card reader. Create a folder then copy the images from the reader to the folder.

I am not sure about a catalogue. A folder is the 2nd level of a drive, just under the drive letter. Subfolders are folders under folders and can be many levels deep.

You have to know how to get around your hard drive. For example use the My Documents folder. In there is a My Pictures folder. From there you can create as many folders as you want (though to many folders can get you more confused). You can create folders a few different ways. You can go into the My Pictures folder then click on File then New then folder. It will give you a folder which you can then rename what ever you like.

Using Picture Project you can also create a new file. Click on Transfer then once it locates the pictures on your card you can click on the little box on the left that says Options. Then click on Transfer Destination. This will show you where your pictures will be downloaded to. To change this click on Browse and find the folder you want. You can also create a new folder by clicking on the Make New Folder box after you click on Browse. It will create the new folder in the Picture Project folder by default unless you click on a different folder to create it in. After you click the Make New Folder button here it will automatically name the folder "New Folder". You can go into it later and change the name or right in that same box click "New Folder" twice with a slight pause between clicks and it will highlight so you can change the name.

Hopefully this doesn't confuse you any longer.

Sub folders are just folders inside other folders. I've never seen Cataloge used in refering to folders when using Windows. Some software will use "cataloge" instead of "folder".
