Hi everyone!

I'm so excited! I just ordered this box from GF private dining to be delivered to my SIL (Steph H on these boards) :) She's checking into GF concierge today with her DH and DS - their first trip to WDW!

Anyway, the gentleman in private dining said it had a picture of the castle on it. Does anyone know of a picture somewhere of this box? I'd love to see what it's going to look like!

Thanks :)

LadyTrampScamp&Angel, what a lovely gesture for your sister-in-law. I've never heard of a chocolate box with a castle on it. That sounds lovely and I can't wait to see photos of it.

I do have photos of two types of chocolate boxes with the Grand Floridian Resort on them. My photos might be able to give you an idea as to what your sister-in-law's chocolate box might look like:

Grand Floridian Small Chocolate Box (Found Inside Gift Box)
Grand Floridian Small Chocolate Box (Exterior)
Grand Floridian Small Chocolate Box (Interior)

Grand Floridian Large Chocolate Box (Exterior)
Grand Floridian Large Chocolate Box (Interior)

Those chocolate boxes were gifts to my family and thus I don't know how to order them or what their cost is (I thought I should mention that in case other folks are reading this post). The only thing I know is that the chocolate boxes were a hit with my family and tasted divine.

LadyTrampScamp&Angel, I hope my photos helped.

Thanks for the pictures Janet2k and for being so helpful!

Your gift boxes are so beautiful, I hope my gift ends up being something like that. I expect it'll be similar to the small box, it was $35. That larger box is gorgeous and I'm sure would be more $$$. I wanted to surprise DSIL and her family with a welcome gift and she should be arriving about now!

For anyone who is interested the gentleman I spoke to said he was looking through a book and gave me a few ideas and prices. He did say several times that the chocolate box had a picture of the castle on it. I hadn't heard of that before either - so we'll see if it's the castle or the GF. I hope Steph takes pictures of it!

So, again the box I ordered was $35, he said it was enough for 3 people.

He mentioned 5 chocolate covered strawberries for $25, if you want to add the chocolate Mickey or Minnie it was an additional $25 so that whole thing - isn't it in the great hotels episode of the GF - would be $50.

There is a similar white chocolate covered strawberries with chocolate "pearls" presentation that was $25. You could add a Mickey or Minnie to that one too for the additional $25.

He hadn't found the Cinderella's slipper in the book but he said he thought it was about $14.

I just love sending a little pixie dust!

Is there anywhere online that you can go to see what is available to order and the prices? I'm staying at the Beach Club with my mom the end of Nov. thru the first week of Dec. for her 70th birthday present. I would love to get her something delivered when we get to the room. TIA :flower:

Good Heavens Janet... you came through again (but then I knew you would). Man they really do it up at the Grand don't they... very nice....

Unfortunately I don't believe so. I called GF Private Dining, getting that info from posts here on the DIS. I asked the person I spoke to if he could email a list of what was available and prices to me and he said he didn't have anything like that, he was flipping through some book they had.

Perhaps you could get a phone number from Disney or here on the boards for dining at the BC?

Other places to get gifts:

Hope you find what you're looking for :)

Does anyone know if they offer similar things at the WL? This is our first visit and since my youngest DS might go through Poly withdrawal, I would like to make his arrival special.

I was wondering the same thing:)

I just love the AllEars website. Thanks for posting their information, TammiMcMan.

I have a photo to share of the "chocolate picture frame" that was mentioned. My family was staying at the Yacht Club, and the resort sent it to us as a welcome gift: click here.

The item was more like a mini-painting. The frame was made out of brown chocolate, and the painting was made out of white chocolate that contained an image of the Yacht/Beach Club Resort as viewed from Crescent Lake. It was very nicely done, truly a lovely gift.

I hope this helped.

As to the other resorts, if they are Deluxe Resorts and have Room Service, please contact those folks to see what can be done. You would be amazed at the wonderfully, fun & imaginative things that Disney has hiding up its sleeve. ;)

If you're at a resort that does not have Room Service, please contact the Disney Florist as LadyTrampScamp&Angel has mentioned (www.disneyflorist.com). They have whipped up some truly imaginative gifts that have very pleasantly surprised my family & friends.

If you don't see anything that you like on the Disney Florist website, talk to them over the telephone. Give them your budget and an idea of what you want. Together, the two of you should be able to come up with something very special.

By the way, here are a couple of photographs of what Floridafam had sent to my family at the Pop Century last year:

Disney Florist Gift Basket Photo # 1
Disney Florist Gift Basket Photo # 2

The gift baskets were lovely and a complete surprise to us. What a way to welcome us to Walt Disney World, ~sigh.~

My family has experienced the tuxedo strawberries many times over the years, both the male and female versions. They have always been a big hit with us.

During our vacation last Fall at the Grand Floridian, these were waiting for us one evening: click here. Within seconds, they started to disappear: click here. Note: I had to slap quite a few hands in order to keep the strawberries on that plate, and two of 'em even had to be put back before I would snap the picture ;)

That's so nice of you! I can't wait to hear how she liked it. Isn't she staying in SL? We're there in Nov/Dec, and I can't wait. I'm trying to decide what to get DH and the kids as a little surprise. I think the box was a lovely gesture.

Janet, what is in the picture to the back left of the table? It kind of looks like the GF main building. I buy different GF things (pictures, postcards, clothing, ornaments, snowglobe) for DW and that piece looks interesting if it is the GF.

Thanks

Oh, the Grand Floridian is probably going to kill me. I'm letting out too many of their secrets regarding fun treats that can be found at that fine resort. ;)

Snurk71, the item that you saw was what I am calling a white chocolate postcard (for lack of a better term). It was of the resort. For a better photo of it, click here. It sat upright on the table.

Silly question. Do people EAT the boxes and paintings and postcards?

Yes, because they're not like M & M's -- they truly do melt in your hands. ;) (Hahahaha -- I am so funny!)

Honestly, we couldn't possibly finish all that chocolate (and we're chocolate lovers). We nibbled on some of the items, but the bulk of them went to waste (eh gads, it kills me to say that).

However, the small Grand Floridian chocolate box is presently sitting inside my refrigerator here at home. I brought that box back for my husband, as pointed out in the GF FAQ thread a few weeks ago. My husband is not a big chocolate lover (he prefers white chocolate), so I think I really brought it home for me. Last week I almost tore into it, but instead munched on something else. This week, though, I think that box will be calling my name, "Janet, I'm waiting for you..." ;)

Could anyone tell me the phone number to call to order these lovely treats? :) My family will be at the Grand in December and will be celebrating a few little occasions for us. I'd love to order a little surprise or two.
