Anyone own a WoolX Cassie dress? Looking for feedback on this dress as a travel dress, specifically the pockets. How deep are they? Do they keep your phone secure? I'm looking at maybe this style for a Disney dress and I like to carry my phone and ID in a small wallet in my pockets and not carry a bag at all, but that only works if the pockets are deep enough to be secure.

You made me look 😁
You mean this one?

If so, it’s very similar to one of my travel ready dresses and style wise would work most anywhere or time, IMO. Love the fabric too and the modified A line shape. ❤️

No idea how deep the pockets are and yes this is important. Wish the model had put her whole hand in instead of possibly being “artistic”, lol.

Yeah, I wish she had too! lol I also think that everyone wants to know if their phone fits, so I think they should just go ahead and snap a few pics of the phone/pocket combo.

Switch to the “toasted almond” color photo and look at the 4th picture where the model is standing sideways and has her hands on her hips. The pocket is more visible now and is at least 6” in length which would hold most any cell phone. The pocket also is reinforced with double top stitching which strengthens the area.
A very well made dress!

Seems expensive for something I can get for $20 or so at Marshalls, I have had wool dresses but they can be tough to care for and delicate. Are these super durable or something?

I'm twitchy just thinking of merino wool against my skin in hot weather. (And yes, I know that tropical wool is supposed to be breathable, and that works OK for a jacket, but wool of any kind directly against my skin is just awful when it's hot.)

If you want a good travel dress in this style that will cost less and be easier to care for, I suggest perhaps one from Columbia, or from Magellan's. Scotteveste even makes one with 8(!) pockets; it's available via Amazon.

Merino made for travel is thinner than most wool products, lighter, and they don't retain odor (you also just wash in cold water and hang to dry). So, take a merino tshirt from somewhere like Icebreaker; they are thin, light, and don't retain moisture or odor, you can roll them thin to take in a carry-on. I've got tshirts, skirt, hoodie, etc... from companies like WoolX, Wool&, and Icebreaker. I like to travel really light, so I only take a small carry-on (that goes under the seat in front of me), and want a pack as light as I can reasonably carry.

Some people just can't wear wool at all, and I get that, but it is great for people who can. I get cold inside down in Disney because they keep it so cold most places, so merino wool does double duty for me.

I don't have a dress from them, and I go into the park with just the most minimal of things, so that's why I need to check on the pockets. I bit the bullet after looking closer at the pics and ordered one.

I have a Wool& Milenia shift dress coming today to take on a cruise next week. It looks a lot like your Cassie dress, but without pockets 😭 I've been wanting to buy something from Woolx to try their Duralite blend (the wool wraps nylon and spandex fibers, so it's all wool on the outside, but stronger from the encased nylon/spandex core). Have you bought anything else from Wool& or Woolx? If you have, are they very different from each other?

This view shows the pocket. While I think it would hold a phone, I wouldn't trust it to be secure.

Also in a dress this style, likely anything in the pocket with a little bit of weight like a phone will probably pull the dress down a bit unless your pocket weight is balanced left/right.

I don't have anything comparable from WoolX and Wool& to compare to each other unfortunately! I've noticed if you have a tshirt from one company and a skirt from another, they can't really be judged based off of the other, if that makes sense. I've only got a skirt from WoolX (which is not duralite), and no other dresses or skirts from anywhere else.

I think maybe if I put my phone on it's side, it may work... we'll see, I did wind up ordering one and it is on its way. I do usually put phone on one side and everything else I carry into the park on other, so I think it would balance out ok. Your point about it pulling down a bit is why I went ahead and ordered a dress instead of just taking the skirt I already have. I think it may pull the skirt down over the course of a whole day, which would drive me nuts.

Dress update; so, as I said above, I did order the dress, got it yesterday. The good; I loved the material, and it was well made, the phone does fit the pocket. If you have a phone that is 2 3/4" x 5 3/4" or smaller you can turn it sideways to make it secure in the pocket, otherwise if you just slip it in up and down, I do think it could fall out when you sit, but because the fabric has quite a bit of give to it, you can turn the phone sideways and it "holds" it fairly snug.

The "bad" (not really bad, you'll see what I mean); I do have to return it because it was too big. I would size down if you are in doubt. It fits like a "shift" if too big and the material definitely has "give" to it. Also, I ordered the green and am swapping it for the midnight blue color. The green was darker than I expected, and didn't really "pop" with color.

Their exchange process was easy, and free as long as you were exchanging or getting store credit. If you want to return it for a full refund, it's like a 5 dollar fee I think. As soon as the label gets scanned in at the post office, they will send the other dress.

Just a heads up if you have minimal sewing skills and this type of stretching concerns: stitch a woven interfacing to the pocket.
