This is probably a silly question....but does anyone have any advice on what would be the best way to get pictures from my memory card onto a disk during our trip? I don't think my card will hold as many pics. as I will want to take and right now I really can't afford a new one. Do any of the shops in the on-site hotel have anything I could use, or should I just plan on stopping by Walgreens (sp?) a few times during the week?

Looks like I'll be at RPR same time as you!

This is something I'd like to know as well. Usually I just bring my laptop to download pictures to and also write "trip reports" that won't be lost. I've thought of not bringing it though, since it is a pain in the airport. I've looked for a storage device, but can only find readers that still need a computer to connect with. There's always the option of buying one or more extra memory cards, but that still limits the number of pics and gets expensive. I think I've heard people talk about sending emails from hotel computers, so I wonder if one could connect a reader to these computers and upload emails to a website or email them. I may call the RPR and ask sometime if I decide I really don't want to take the laptop.

Can't wait!! Only two more weeks! How long are you staying?

:cheer2:

Where are the hotel computers? I have to say I would feel much safer knowing my pics are on a disk than trying to email them. I really can't buy a new card right now and the one I have was fairly expensive. I may not take as many pics as I think I will, but last time I took several rolls (no digital then). Walgreen's seems like the best idea to me, and there are quite a few close to RPR.

Makes me happy I bought a 1 gig memory stick for my Sony V1. Costed more than the camera, but comes in handy on trips away from home. When I went to HHN14 and shot all my POV videos and pictures of the event, I filled it.

The real problem is that I don't want to HAVE to leave the hotel to deal with these pictures. Last time, we didn't set foot off of the property until the day we left. Maybe I'll just have to do it once. When I was at the camera store, I couldn't imagine needing more space than what I bought. But now I wish I had spent the few extra $$!!

:(

There are kodak machines in the candy store at port of entry in IOA and at the candy bit in the big gift store in Universal Studios - it costs $4.99 to transfer about 100 pictures onto a disk.

These machines only arrived during our two weeks, and half the time my DH had to show the staff how to use them!

We had 3 different memory cards, 2 64meg and 1 128meg, and we still had to keep downloading - we now have about 800 pics from our 2 week honeymoon, and the problem is deciding which ones to print to put in an album!

WOW!! Sounds like you had a great honeymoon!!:cloud9:

I'm happy to know that the parks now have those machines. It really does make sense with so many digital cameras out there. I did finally figure out that I could make my card hold quite a few more pictures, but I'm afraid the quality won't be the same. I'm pretty new at this, as you can probably tell.

Just get a REALLY BIG album!!
