Pics, prices, and more about studio 365

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing! Did they confirm they would be reopening with continuing makeovers? We want to do it in Nov as well, but there have been mixed responses on whether they'd still be offering makeovers when they reopen.

At the time we were there, I didn't know they were closing down/reopening later so I didn't ask. :(

I was hoping to get DD a makeover for the first Halloween party, but when I called for reservations they said the store won't reopen until Sept. 30th.

Here's a picture of her just before starting the makeover, so you can see the length of her hair when it's down. They don't seem to have any problem using gel to work the shorter pieces in with the hairstyle. Our CM was really great - she took her time and did a beautiful job.

Adorable both before and after! I'm jealous- my DD's hair is pretty close to that length and they told her they could not do the Frozen hairstyle on her because it was too short to get the bun in the back right. I told them we didn't care if the bun looked smaller or was pinned odd, and they said it would be a "modification" to make the bun look any smaller or different than the photo and they could not do that. They tried to push her toward one of the cornrow hairstyles which she hates because she did it at BBB last year and it hurt her head. They finally decided they could do the bow hairstyle with her, but warned it would be a really small bow so we picked that.

The lady that got her was terrific! She said she did not want it to be a tiny bow, and she worked really hard to make it a big bow. DD had a great time. I really hope when it reopens they keep they makeover aspect. DD liked how her hair turned out, and we had several people ask about it as we walked through the parks. On the bright side of not getting the frozen hairstyle, I think the bow hairstyle was only $19- I think it may be their cheapest hairstyle.

Does anyone know if they still sell the mini-Mad Hatter style hats at either SD365 or elsewhere in the parks/DD? My dd saw one in a photo along with a Elsa hairstyle and would love to try to replicate it.

They did sell them at D365 last Nov - my girlfriend's daughter had that hairstyle done. I think they also sell them at the Mad Hatter stores in DL. I'll send you a pic :)

We are going in October and I wanted my daughter to get her hair done before the Halloween Party. Anyone have any idea if they will re-open?

I was there last week and asked several of the ladies who worked there for more details. Essentially, they know that it WILL open back up with hair styling appointments, but they had not been told and details about when that would happen. One of the ladies said that they would be keeping the Frozen hairstyles and refreshing the other options.

Also, in case anyone else was interested in my earlier question... unfortunately, they no longer sell the mini top hats. There were a few Nightmare style hats left in the park, but all others were gone and several stores confirmed that they are no longer sold at Disney.

So here's the update... Pic maybe be posted in the next few days.. (Technical issues)

So after 5 hair appointments and lots of questions here is what I was told.

1. Store will be reopened with all new frozen theme

2. ~ doing only frozen make overs as a trial bases ~

3. All the other styles are on the chopping block. The store has not been pulling in a profit on any make-overs under $30 and needs to change that.

4. Will be selling Anna and Elsa costumes upon opening. As well as other frozen items

5. Olaf hair do is frosted spikes

6. Age limit is currently is talks. (12 and under)

7. Maybe fewer chairs (aka appointments) to open the floor space in the store (talks of only keeping the 5 chairs in the back of the store)

9. CM are getting new frozen themed outfits.

10. Sure to be a HARD TO GET appointment after it reopens

Hope this helps with questions and if have anymore please feel free to ask!

Thank you both for the updates :)

Even if it's just the Frozen hairstyles, at least they're still doing them! And their price point is still lower than BBB (assuming they stay that way after the refurb). These appts can be made 60 days in advance, correct? Need to make sure I make it right away!

Here are a few photos from our trip last week. My girls loved their hairstyles. I especially wish they'd keep the one with the ears. The hair was woven around the ears, so they stayed in place all day!

All of those are new since we were there in Nov. It makes me wonder if they're testing out some higher price point styles before their reopening. I'm sure we'll get reports back before I go, but I'll update with any info I get when we do.

Lame. Anyone know when it will close/reopen? If they don't put an age limit and it's open, I may get an Anna or Elsa hairstyle done on the Friday before the Tinkerbell 10k in May (and dress as Anna or Elsa, but with a more elaborate costume than my Elsa costume last year so that it's more obvious as to who I am).

AmericanItGirl: I am pretty sure they were at the expo before Tink, at least on Saturday. I don't know how early you had to sign up for an appointment, but I know I saw people getting their hair done at a D365 booth while I was in the line to get into the commemorative merchandise area.

But I would rather have an appointment in the store than sit in the expo and have everyone waiting to check out watch me get my hair done! ;-P

I remember seeing them too. The thing that worries me is that they did not have a list of choices available, so they may not offer Anna or Elsa (it only looked like they were doing the one with cornrows, but that could have just been the most popular option), and I'd rather have that guarantee of having Elsa or Anna as an option if I do dress as one of them for the race.

Any news on frozen store?

Somebody posted some place else that the closure/refurb has been put off indefinitely. I don't know how true that is, but I haven't heard anything to the contrary yet. It's just odd that the Parks Blog would announce the makeover to Frozen themed and then not do it. I can make our appts next week, so I can update with any information I may get then.
