Pics, prices, and more about studio 365

As promised here are more pictures from our past D365 appts.

Front & back in 2013

Front 2012

And day 2, 2012

That's strange! My friend made an appt. for August and they didn't say anything to her. Did it sound like they would still be doing makeovers when they reopen? I'm going to be really sad if the makeover component is gone.

She didn't really say but the way she sounded it didn't sound like it was it sounded like Frozen merchandise and stuff.

SO I just called and reserved my kiddos spot for the 28th of this month and the lady that made the reservation said next month they will be shutting down the 365 studio and turning it into a Frozen themed building with all Frozen stuff in it!!!

UGH!!! More bad news! DD and I had talked about Studio 365 and the fact we probably wouldn't have time for a makeover there a couple of weeks ago. Last night, I broke the news to my newly short haired DD about the Frozen hairstyles (well technically we were just looking at hairstyles on the computer and happened to come across them ;) ) and that her hair was too short to do them as I know that she is going to walk in that store to shop and see them and then want one (especially as she is carting her Anna coronation dress to DL to wear). She's never done Studio 365 and has wanted to since last year, so I told her next time after her hair grows back out we would do it! Mom is going to be in trouble if the place is gone!!!! I hope they don't totally get rid of the makeover part. DD has done BBB several times at WDW over the last few years, but she is 8 and growing out of that and into the Studio 365 tween type things. I don't think she is going to grow out of Frozen for quite a while though. It has been 7 months and there are no signs of her slowing down. She still belts the songs daily.

Anyone do a makeover there with a kid that has a chin length bob type hairstyle or hair length? What hairstyles could they do, and do you have any pics? It stops just above her shoulders now instead of going down to the middle of her back. She has never had her hair cut this short before, but she does really like it.

FWIW, I just called the style line and they said that it will be closed August 2-Sept 15 and that it would no longer being doing makeovers upon it's reopening. It would strictly be a Frozen merchandise store. They said BBB would be the only option.

Makes me wonder why they ever bothered with the Frozen hairstyles if they were just going to close the store. Think they'll move them to BBB?

From a thread I found... No prices :-(

LOL... I recognized those backs!

I just made four appointments (under two reservations) yesterday for D365. All were for August 5th. Sure hope we don't show up to a closed building! Or perhaps they've pushed out the start date???

We have the same day!
I was told aug. 19th.. Was the last day..

My DD 3 really wanted to do BBB but for reasons listed below we picked 365
Is it ok if my 3 year old wants to wear a princess/ minnie dress?

The reason we picked studio 365 instead of BBB is:

It worked with our plans (aka no park day)

If DD3 doesn't like it.. It's $20 not $50 like at BBB

Price

Something we can all do together.

Something new (DD 8 has done BBB before ) And now with it closing, we really want to do it!

Do they still do the photos at the end?
Do they cost extra?

We have bought photopass + will they have a photopass photographer there?

If not is there one at DTD that we have have some nice pics taken at?

I will be interested to find out what info you get when you're there about the closing date. I hope for all of you, it isn't until the 19th. Like I said, the CM today said the 2nd, but it wouldn't make sense they just let people book for the 5th!

To answer your earlier question, she can, wear whatever she wants. I think they have a dressing room in there, but I'm not entirely sure.

They do not do photos at the end and there are no photopass photographers there (we're still talking about D365, right? ). There aren't any photopass photographers in DTD, so I guess back in the parks somewhere. Maybe try Fantasyland for some magic shots? Or the Princess Fantasy Fair area?

Haha. Hi!!! *waves*

I can't wait to find out what you hear/see. I hope for all of you, it has been pushed out and the CM I spoke to was wrong about the date. Still sad it won't be makeover place in Nov :(

I saw on trip reports that at the end they did a "photo shoot" gave the a lanyard with a pic in it..
Not sure if they still do this.. Or how long ago they stop this..
It may have been extra $$

We have never been to disneyland DTD, so I not sure what to expect down there..
I wasn't sure if it was like WDW

In WDW you can do BBB and then walk over to a photo area and have pics taken to add to your photo pass+

I did this one night after having DD makeover at pirates league..
We had a dinning Ressie in DTD, when we got there they were running 30min behind.
I walked over to the photopass area to pic a few photos why we wait, and they CM ask if we wanted extra photos..

I was told if they have no one there, we can come in to add "free" photos to our photopass+
Can also be done in fantasyland photo studio in MK at WDW.

We did makeovers there in 2012 & 2013 and they didn't have any photos of any kind. I have seen an old ad where they said they did, so my guess it was discontinued awhile ago. There is a photo package you can add at BBB, but BBB at DL is located in Fantasyland and the "studio" is attached. You are free to take as many as your own pictures as you wish.

DTD is not as expansive at DLR as it is at WDW (or at least my understanding). At DLR, it's full of stores and restaurants.

It sounds like there were photo options, but I see mixed information on whether it's included or not in the packages. Over on the Dis SD365 store descriptions, they say that "All packages include a hair makeover, cosmetic makeover, make-up case, digital image and lanyard." However, the blog (you can link from that page) shows a photography area, but indicates that the photo shoot was an additional, optional cost. The blog was posted in 2011, so perhaps this is all old info.

At this point, I will just be happy if we can get hair done! Will have fingers crossed, DisneyJamieCA that the rumors are only partially correct. Maybe it will just be bigger and better in November. :goodvibes

And, Lorilais_mommy.... perhaps we'll see you there! :thumbsup2

I do think they used to do it. They still have one of those photo booth things (like at fairs or now at weddings/parties), but we've never used it. I just know they've never offered to take photos, either as part of the package or for purchase. And I even feel like maybe that photo shoot place is now a dressing room (although having never used either, I'm not 100% sure). But there is a lot of of outdated information about it, I agree.

When you did the photos at BBB did they have a separate photo studio? It's been several years since we did BBB at DL. Back then, the photo package was just a photographer taking photos of the FGM transforming our DD. The final photos were just of her seeing herself "princessified" for the first time. I don't remember ever going to a separate studio.

We've been to BBB in DW several times in the last few years, and the DTD photo studios are great. I don't think they have anything like that at DL.

They no longer have a photopass photographer taking pictures during the makeovers :( It honestly is so crowded in there, I don't see where they'd have room. There is a studio in the back, across from the dressing rooms that has a small version of Cinderella's carriage and then another set of grass & woodland creatures. It comes as part of the Castle package, but I think I've heard you can add it on to other packages for a fee. I have pictures from 2008 and again from this past June.

YES!!!! DD had I think shorter hair then what you are describing. They essentially ball it all up and then add the hair pieces. She was Jasmine twice and Rapunzel once. All with shorter hair!!

Good grief. So there are mixed messages on the closing date. My reservation is for August 8th.

So I called just to double check.. It's aug 19-sep 15th at least at this moment in time it is.. :rotfl:

I ask how likely it would be they would move it up?
She said it would be highly unlikely, cuz they would have to call everyone with appointments and cancel.

Hope this makes everyone feel better..
