We will certainly take a pass on the new offering, that is for sure!
Well something is back! This was just posted on our facebook group. http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2016/01/new-disney-photopass-disneyland.html?m=1
$40/day is A LOT of money if you're doing a 5 day park visit!! That's horrible! It's cheaper to upgrade to an AP for that $200 extra just for photos! What a bad decision on Disney's part. I hope they change that.
I agree that would be crazy! Over 5 days that's as much as Memory Maker at WDW and you can use that over the full length of a 10 day ticket.
If it continues that way, our next trip will be our very first EVER to go without a Photopass.
Disneyland Resort are in a unique business situation. They have to manage demand of their products. Supply and demand determine price. Annual passes have gone up, ticket prices keep going up, they even reduce the maximum # of days for their tickets and somehow the place is still getting more crowded all the time. This is just another example of where price is going up to reduce demand. It is amazing how they have the luxury of turning away business and people still will show up!
Why would they need to reduce demand for Photopass?
Does anyone know what the one time photo extension is? It's mentioned at the bottom of the page in the link.Well something is back! This was just posted on our facebook group. http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2016/01/new-disney-photopass-disneyland.html?m=1

still the cheapest AP wont get you photos pass though.. that one costs $800 plus..$40/day is A LOT of money if you're doing a 5 day park visit!! That's horrible! It's cheaper to upgrade to an AP for that $200 extra just for photos! What a bad decision on Disney's part. I hope they change that.
Idk if this info is correct but on our fb page someone said, "I think the photo extension refers to the number of days you have access to the photos. They are only available for a certain number of days but you can "purchase" an extension so you can access them a little longer. But you can only purchase 1 such extension."
So if PhotoPass+ is now gone... if I bought mine in October, will they still honor my pass and the service I paid for if it's discontinued? I arrive at DLR in March. I would hate to get there, and turn in my voucher and they're like "Sorry."
Others have reported back they were able to use the photopass plus they pre-ordered before it was discontinued without problem. However, I do not know if there is an end date to how long this will be honored. I think you will be fine - enjoy it!
I seriously hope you're right! With all the refurbs to our hotel, and all the refurbs in the parks... I'd be so bummed if they said no. That would totally take all the wind out of my sails.

I sure hope that I can use my pre-purchased voucher. I bought ours in November, hoping to be able to use it in two weeks!! Guess I'll find out on the morning of the 30th when we go to the Plaza Inn for our Character breakfast.
