Our pics start expiring tomorrow, July 20. We purchased the advance memory maker but I haven't activated it yet, downloaded anything. It says "Once you activate Memory Maker, you have 30 days to capture photos and videos." Does this mean if I do the first download tomorrow that it will then give me 30 days to do all my downloads?

Also, I checked the week of the 4th and my dates started like Aug. 2 which was more than I had figured. Read that the website had some trouble (when doesn't it??) so I assumed that Disney had extended the dates. Anyone think if I call them telling them about this that the date would be extended for free?

TIA!

I would recommend downloading your pictures as soon as possible. Once they are expired, they are gone. I'm not sure if you will have an additional 30 days to play with your pictures, but I wouldn't risk it! You can always upload your own personal pictures into the website later and create custom items, scrapbooks, ornaments, etc... They will always let you spend money! In my experience, no they will not extend the date for free. I believe the extension is $30, give or take. Good luck! Get those pictures downloaded!

Why take a chance? That system is wonky on a good day. Get them downloaded ASAP.

Looking through my posts from last year, when I had experienced using MM to span a couple of trips...

Your MM pictures DO expire a certain number of days from when they are taken (45 is what it used to be, assuming that is still the case). That can ONLY be changed by buying the extension. I don't know about the dates on the photos in your account changing expiration dates, but it never hurts to call and ask about an extension. You also DO have 30 days from the time of your first download to complete your downloads. HOWEVER all of the pictures will still expire on the date that is on the photo, regardless of how many days you have left to complete your downloads. So even if you start your downloads today, the pictures that are dated for today will still expire at the end of the day and no longer be available for download.

That system is wonky on a good day.

That's the truth!!! I keep hoping one day it will get better but after 5 or 6 years of using the service, the website gets no better! In fact, I think it is worst now than it was when we first started using it!

Thanks! You would think after awhile I would learn not to wait until the last minute! :sad2: (I need a bang my head against the wall emoji!)
