Photopass CD prepurchase

Since all pics are 5x7 size do i have to use the drop down for each and every picture or only ones with a border or disney image (signature) added to them? I would hate to not do this right and ruin my pics since we have close to 500 and still have today left at the park.

Actually, all of the pics are originally 4x6. once you add a border they default to 5x7. So yes, you will need to change the size of anything with a border to the size(s) you would like to print them.

I got my Photopass CDs in the mail Saturday. 609 pictures. I haven't printed any yet, but when I added borders, I didn't know about the 4x6 and 5x7 thing. It appears that all mine with borders are 5x7 which means they won't print correctly at 4x6. (the ratios are not the same, so when we print, it will cut off a portion of the board when it resizes)

The pictures look great, but the one piece of advice I can give is to save each pictures you add borders to as both a 5x7 (the default) and 4x6. That way you can print the border on either size.

Many, but not all, of our pictures look wonderful. I'm amazed at how much different the landmarks (castle, Spaceship Earth, wizard hat) look with different weather conditions and different times of day.

I would suggest making a point to get pictures in front of these at different times of the day/night so you have alot of variety in your pictures.

We will DEFINITELY use photopass again. :cool1:

Ok maybe I am just not seeing the right thing here. I am currently trying to do some adjustments to my photopass pictures and above someone mentioned if you add a border or what not to change the size to 4x6 when saving otherwise part will be cut off when you print because its saved automatically at 5x7. Then someone said all the pictures are automatically 4x6 size. Well when i look at my pictures even ones I have not altered in anyway on the right it says 5x7. Can anyone help me out with this one? Do I need to save each and every picture as a 4x6?

Yes, If you add borders, you will need to save it as a 4x6.

Ok another question here. When I click on the drop down menu for sizing on the right it says two 4x6 prints then a bunch more options and a Photo download (4x6 format) for sizing options. Which 1 should i be saving it as?

Just curious, but does anyone know how they decide to whom to send out the pre-order emails? We have gone to WDW regularly, staying both for cash at deluxe resorts and for points at DVC resorts, and we have never received an email.

I've used the link to pre-order multiple times anyway, and I've never had any trouble, but it is a little annoying to have never gotten the offer.

I am so upset about Photopass. I planned every aspect of this trip but did not pay attention to the pre-order thing. Now we had a great trip and have 15 wonderful photopass pictures (out of 70) and $149 is just too much! It is so upsetting. My pretty pictures will go bye-bye. I know it is my fault too!

above is listed a link for the preorder and while i was in disney this past week I ordered mine. I am now cropping & adding borders so I can order the actual CD. I paid 99 plus shipping so its not to late to buy the preorder

I already added my card to my account so I can not pre-order now. I knew nothing about pre-ordering before.

Hmm...the link for pre-order seems to be working with my account even with the photocard already on it. Maybe I can get it for $99.

I did the same thing. Had pictures taken during the week then decided to do the preorder. Now I can't wait for the CD to come

Ok - it worked. When I finished there was a promotion for getting their gallery pictures for free with an order. I wonder if I can order that and use that code when I order my pre-purchased CD. Anyone try the code for that yet? SEPTCDBONUS9?

There have been some threads in the past (quite a few actually) about pre-purchasing the Photopass CD, and whether we are supposed to / allowed to do so without having received the email offer from Disney, and about the code expiring after 30 days, etc. etc. so I just wanted to share my experience with you all in hopes that it might help someone.

Back in early June, it was reported here that the price for the Photo CD would be increasing shortly, and anyone who was going to purchase should do so to avoid paying the higher price. After reading all the debates here about the prepurchase, and knowing that our vacation wasn't starting until August 22nd, more than two full months later, I was a bit concerned. However, I carefully read all the information on the pre-purchase web page, then went ahead and made my purchase on June 7th.

We went on vacation in August, as planned, and returned home on September 6th. On September 7th I entered my Photopass cards, and retrieved my pictures, then over the course of the next week or so, added borders and edited the pictures to my liking.

Today, September 17th, 102 days AFTER I prepurchased the Photo CD, I entered my order for the CD, and used my promotion code. There was no message telling me that the code had expired. I didn't have to contact Disney Photopass to get them to reinstate the code. I entered the code, the adjustment was made to my order price, I paid the $7.00 shipping and handling, and my order confirmation came via email. Simple, quick, no bologna.

I'm not certain why others have reported having problems using their codes, but I used mine more than three months after it was issued, and I expect that others can safely do the same.

This is great news, because I ordered my CD before the price increase and with the Disney Visa discount that was going on at the time. We're going back next week for MNSSHP, and I'll be able to add those pics to the CD and place one order. I am so glad that I won't have to call and have my code reset.

Also, thanks for all the tips on resizing after you add borders. I didn't know this and would have not been happy if they weren't right.

Well, no confirmation email for me either after my pre-order. I need my code because I am ready to order the CD!

it took a day for my confirmation code to be emailed to me. Keep checking your spam folder because some people found their code in there.

Disneynut, did you get this to work?

We are in the process of putting the borders on ours right now, and the free gallery promotion ends tomorrow. If I can use it with the pre-order, I'll rush my sisters along in their work. :)

Thanks,

Thanks,

Yes I did get it to work and finally got the email code. I did not see the gallery CD offer until after I ordered though. I was so upset because it is a really nice CD. Order it when you do the pre-order because you can not order it when you order the final CD - the pre-order code is the only code you can use when you place the final order. Good luck! I hope you are able to get both!

here is the link http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx

You save $50 by pre-ordering. ($99.95 versus $149.95) You can pre-order ever during or after your trip, as long as you have not linked any photopass cards to your online account yet.

It is my understanding that you can also request a full refund if you don't like the pictures, as long as you have not already requested the CD. In other words, you can look at them online and if you don't like them, you get your money back. We were there 8 days, and after adding some borders, I have just over 600 pictures. I'm requesting my CD tonight. :cool1:

Yup! You can do it after you get back from vacation, so if you don't like your pictures don't buy it. You have 30 days to view and edit your pics etc.

I have an email from the Photopass people telling me that there is not a time limit on the pre-purchase. I think more of that is rumour that rule. ;)

They also went on to say - if the code does expire, a simple phone call to them will have it reactived or re-issued.
