I love looking at everyone's pics on this thread!! I am hoping that by next week I can start adding to this thread. I just purchased an A57 and it should be in my possession by tomorrow. I have been using an old Konica Minolta since November when my A300 went on the fritz.

I picked up recently the Tamron 17-50 and Rokinon 8mm fisheye and love both those lenses. If I were to get a new body it most likely would be the A77. Im still a ways off from getting one so chances are something else may come along in the meantime and change my mind.


This was my 1st official actual multiple exposure picture. I've done some single shot HDR but decide to give it a try last weekend while at AK.

It's hard to get out by myself while on trips. I was able to get out twice last week. One night was to go see Illuminations at Epcot and try to get some decent pics. That was an epic fail lol. The second night was to run the Everest Challenge at AK but go figure I didn't have my camera with me.

I really liked the picture. I have to try some hdr pictures some time. I have never really looked into them or even setting up my a33 for it.

Any tips? As yours looked good.

Honestly im pretty new at these myself and experimenting and learning. .Its fairly easy getting into the camera to set up, just go into the drive mode and select the continuous Bracket mode, which is probably similar to my A55. Then i run the pictures threw Photomatix until I get something that I like and then Lightroom to fine tune.

Cool shot Mike! I just ran into a snag with the Nex 7. I'm used to having a pretty good buffer on my D5100. Sunday I was shooting pictures of my nieces at an attempt at the Brenizer effect. After about 5-6 pictures the buffer slowed down to about a picture every 2 seconds.

This is a shot of my oldest DD in the red shirt amazed at Crush as usual. This is with my Nex 7 and CCTV 35 f1.7 manual lens. It wasn't very easy manual focusing in the dark.

Thanks Harry! Of all the trips ive taken I have yet to go see Turtle Talk, it always ends up one of those "we will catch some other time" types of deals but the next time its the same thing. Maybe now that we have our little ones we stop and enjoy it.

Id love to see what you pictures you can get using that effect, some examples I have seen are amazing. The only time I have run into any buffering slow down is while taking pics on the 10fps setting and that's understandable. What setting did you shoot with when you had that happen? I havent tried taking pics like that yet but after seeing some id like to give it a try. Do you take 20 or so in manual mode with a fast aperture and merge them in Photoshop? Or is there more to it?

I was manual mode shooting with a Minolta Rokkor 50 @ f1.4. Even in Single shooting mode I was only able to get 5-6 before the buffer would fill up. I can shoot 10fps but it doesn't finish buffering until after you shoot the 10 frames. I also shoot in RAW which doesn't help(24mb files). Next time I'll try to shoot Jpeg 12mp. That was my first attempt which wa a bomb. I'll try again soon enough.

Mike, I don't think the Nex and DSLR's share the same processors. That's the reason buffering is slower on the Nex or any mirrorless I'm pretty sure. That's my only complaint so far (besides the well known location of the record button).

Hmmm not too sure. Maybe also try using a faster memory card. Even in RAW you should be able to shoot faster in single shooting mode, heck even in continuous mode you should be shooting better than that.

Here is what they tested your camera at. Even points this out "The NEX-7 buffers sensibly during continuous shooting too, so unless you're in the habit of firing off complete bursts at 10fps, you rarely have to worry about the camera locking up" So you would think if it could handle the 10fps single should be a breeze. Maybe just a fluke.

I was using a Sandisk class 6 Extreme. I'm really use to my Nikon. As soon as I took a shot I could look at it and if I didn't like it I could delete it instantly. On the Nex, if I try to delete right after the shot, a window opens up saying the photo is being written to the memory card. So it doesn't store instantly.

Anyone tried the Eye-Fi Pro X2 Class 6 8GB Memory Card? It will automatically upload all your pics when you come in range of a Wi-Fi to a place you designate. As a result, your memory card is constantly emptied for you so you don't have to worry about running out of space. I got one for my upcoming trip and tried it last night. I set up an account at Flickr just for the uploads and tried it at the house where I have Wi-Fi. I took the picture and had my laptop open to the Flickr account and it took all of about 10 seconds to complete the upload. Now I have it set to upload when the memory card reached 50% full. There are multiple settings to suit your needs. The list of compatible cameras is pretty extensive. I'm going to try it next week when we visit SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, Universal and Kennedy Space Center. If anyone has tried it and has suggestions, please let me know. I got mine for $79.18 with free shipping at Amazon.com.

That is pretty cool. Does it have to be used with a Wifi enabled camera though? Finding WiFi at the parks may be hard but back at the hotel if would work as long as they had it available.

Ive run into that also with my A55. Also sometimes after recording a movie and try to watch it on playback gives me a hard time and freezes up.
