Can anyone offer me some critique and help with how to edit? I just took these yesterday and ran them through LR3. I haven't gone through all of the photos so here are just a few. She is almost a month old, so she wasn't so cooperative. I did these as a favor for a friend. I'm just kind of upset that it didn't go as smoothly as planned and I'm a little upset with the photos. I had all these ideas in my head and none of them worked out.
Thanks Hockeyman! I just finished putting them on a disk to give to my friend. I ended up with 10 poses that I really liked.
I don't know what it is about the TTA, but my little DD always naps on it.

Hey Mike, I've been following you on Flickr and your pictures are awesome! I was nervous switching from Nikon to Sony but now I'm just amazed at the photos I'm getting from my little Nex. I love that shot of Epcot. I saw it on Flickr and was amazed by the composition and editing. What's your workflow? I think my favorite thing about the Nex is the use of older lenses. I'm going today to pick up a Minolta MC 50mm f1.4 PG and SRT102 film camera for $60 locally.
Here's one. I popped a flash around 1/16 power to ghost Dumbo.

The picture came out pretty good, not perfect but I am still pleased with it. Had you told me 9 months ago when I ventured into the DLSR realm that I will eventually take pictures that look halfway decent I would have laughed lol. So anytime I take a picture and it comes out decent or someone comments and says its a good pic im just amazed lol
I use Lightroom to do all my editing and also have been using Nik Color Efex and that has been giving me that pop and contrast you saw on that Epcot Pic. Ill sharpen them up and reduce noise back in Lightroom however once done in Color Efex.
My night photography at Disney is rather lacking since we tend to head back to the resorts in the early evening to avoid any toddler night time meltdowns in the park (learned that lesson the hard way lol).I'm with you Mike. I started about a year ago and have been through 2 DSLR's(T2i/D5100). I wasn't shooting any action shots so I thought I'd move to mirrorless to get something I could stick in my pocket or my wife's purse. Now I'm invested in the Alpha mount with the Nex 7, LA-EA2, Sigma 17-50 f2.8 OS, Tokina, and SAL35F18. I have been very happy with my NEX in that I can use the adapter and get PDAF or stick with my trusty manual lenses which I love. I can say that on my baby photos the lighting was dim and I was using manual focusing because the 35 was hunting alot. The only focus point that gives me no trouble is center point. I do find that my D5100 had spot on focus in all lighting. I really wanted the PDAF to catch my girls (5 and 20 months). Does the A55 support focus peaking for manual lenses? I think for my next Disney trip I'd like to have 2 bodies to reduce lens changing.

Mike, I know what you mean about Illuminations. I was setup by the water in Japan with the Rokinon fisheye and took about 15 shots. I think I kept 2. I'll have to upload them.
