Phone booth in Epcot...

I have saved the numbers in my phone and want to call and try them out. Thing is.. I am nervous and have no idea what to say.

Don't be nervous, just be yourself and say, "Hi, this is (your name) in Texas, did I reach the red phone booth in Epcot?"
Ask them if they are having fun, what they did today, what the weather is like, etc.

I stand by the water fountain and call the number while ppl are taking their pictures. It is a tradition now. Then I ask them if some random person is there; like David or Elizabeth or I tell them it is tradition to go to the Rose and Crown and yell 'Ello Guvna!

Ok I have to ask... did anyone here call the red phone booth on Tuesday september 27th as Snow white? LOL

We went to the phone booths so I could call and be cinderella and invite DD to the princess lunch at Akershus we had scheduled for her. It was adorable and she loved it.

when we hung up the phone rang again so she answered it and whoever was on the other end was awesome :) said it was snow white and asked her about her day and she said it was her birthday and the caller just went with it. it was GREAT and totally unexpected lol

so DD got a call from TWO princesses that day :D

I had to wonder if it was someone from the Dis that called lol

I've called in the past and asked to speak with Mary Poppins, and if they can run over to Le Cellier and find out how long the wait is.

Now this I can get behind...I always want to know how long the wait is at Le Cellier. Another favorite past time of mine is standing next to the check-in booth at Le Cellier and hearing people ask if anything is available w/o an ADR. Some people are too funny. :rotfl:

No, it wasn't me, usually I'm Mary Poppins, Her Majesty the Queen or Sharon Osbourne!!!:rotfl2:

OK this is so cool. We love the phone booths in Epcot. We have so many pictures of us in them. I'm going to load the numbers in my phone and call friends and family that go into the booths. :cool1:

:rotfl2: I just called and a guy answered. I said "oh, hello! Are you enjoying your visit to Epcot today?" He said "Umm.. yes. Are you from dining?!" I told him I was a stranger calling him from Massachusetts. He said "Oh, umm I don't know who you are trying to reach..."

Oh boy!!! ONE WEEK!!! You guys can call me!!!

This is my new favorite thing! Just called and a girl picked up and said "did I call you?" she must have been posing for a picture with the phone in her hand :rotfl2: and then she handed me off to a friend and we chatted My idea is to wish people a very merry unbirthday but I didn't get to that. This will be so much fun when I am in the park in a week and a half.

My son and I just tried this and all we got was "hello ?? .. who is this ??" then they hung up.
We tried again and some guy answered in a scary voice ! :confused3

We did this a bunch of times when we were there last January. It is more fun to call FROM Epcot so you can see who's answering and watch them looking around. We got busted a few times because we were laughing so much!

We're going to try it when we are there in April ! :thumbsup2

I just heard about this on the DIS Unplugged podcast. I had no idea about it. Oh boy is my next trip to Epcot going to be fun! :thumbsup2:

Ok, so I got a really cool person . . .named Emmanuel . . .he went on to tell me about how cool Epcot was and how there was a huge pond in the middle of all these countries and how they have been there drinking around the world all day and then he asked if I was a character and how the pay phone thing worked and I explained that I was just a normal person calling from Connecticut wanting to see how much fun he was having.

It was a great conversation!:thumbsup2

How funny! I have seen these phones loads of times but never knew where people was calling from. When we was doen in March I answered and talked to some guy for a few mins. I honestly thought there was like another phone somewhere close that people could call from. I was looking around like a paranoid fool thinking someone was laughing at me. :lmao: I will be back this weekend and want to have some fun calling from a curb somewhere so I can watch people reactions.

I called yesterday too, after listening to the WDW Today podcast for yesterday, and talked to someone. Now today though the numbers don't seem to be working. I wonder if too many people called in this week and Disney cut them off?

I hope not.

Oh NO . . .I hope not either . . .I really think (if you get the right person answering) it makes both their day and yours . . .at least, that's how I felt after talking to that person last night . . .:goodvibes
