PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

Yea! Glad to hear the ankle & shins felt good!!

Yay! Glad you ran with no pain! :thumbsup2

Thanks ladies...not holding my breath though...my body so likes to fight me over this running thing! You think it would give up by now! :rotfl2: It should know that when Disney is the end result nothing is going to keep me from stopping.

I know exactly how you feel! My body has fought me the whole way and I'm injury prone like you wouldn't believe...but I LOVE running(and Disney!), and I just won't give up...my body just needs to give in! :rolleyes1

Its just so darn frustrating...the heart, the soul, the motivation, the determination, the will are all there but the body says NO!

Yes! AND...have you ever seen those quotes where they say things like "It's your mind wanting you to stop, your body can go more..."?? They make me want to scream b/c I'm the exact opposite. I think half my injuries were b/c my mind wanted to go go go and my body couldn't handle it! :rolleyes2

I so here you...if I would listen to my body then I would probably be a lot better off...but oh no, can't do that because I have a fear of party: behind me! I hate those quotes about its a mind thing...its not it is a TOO MANY CUPCAKES thing...

YHEA TAMMIE!!! :cool1:

You go girl!!!

Thanks Nicole...Is it okay to say that I do rather enjoy getting out there and "running." Now remind me I said that when I am getting up over 7 miles in distance....right now 2-3 is rather nice and after a long day at work...just what I need to clear my head before dealing with the family!

Well of course it's ok. It's more than OK- it's AWESOME!

Sometimes- in those rare moments when the moon is in the Seventh House & Jupiter aligns with Mars- I feel the same! ;)

Cupcake Friday
(as if just being Friday is not sweet enough)

Caramel Corn Cupcake & A Couple of Others
Magic Kingdom: Big Top Treat’s

There is not a lot of information out there about the Caramel Corn Cupcake. From what I have read it is pretty much your standard Disney cupcake covered with a pretty, circus-swirled wrapper. The thick, gritty-sweet icing was colored to match the wrapper and topped with fresh, sweet caramel corn. (Description from Pinch of Pixie Dust). I have seen other frosting colors and not so fancy wrapper in pictures?!

Here is the Pixie Dust Girls Review: “Once I cut into it and took the first bite, I was in cupcake heaven. The cake is a moist vanilla (although you could get it in chocolate, as well) with no filling. The main event is the topping. I know a lot of folks don’t love this style of stick-to-your-tongue sugary frosting, but I can’t get enough of it. Here, it was offset and made so much more delicious by the soggy-soft and salty-sweet caramel corn on top.”

So the last line of this review really got me…” soggy-soft and salty-sweet caramel corn on top .” I think I will pass on this cupcake. The thought of soggy popcorn does not sound like any texture I want in my mouth. With so many cupcakes out there, I don’t want to waste stomach space on this one, so my vote is NO.

There are also a couple of others that I found at Bit Top Treats, again not a lot of information so I am going to lump them in this post...

Cotton Candy-Just like the Caramel corn, a standard cupcake with a bunch of cotton candy on the top. I am seriously trying to figure out how they get the cotton candy not to melt all over the cupcake. I hate when cotton candy gets a little wet. I think I will pass on this one too!

(Pictured-far back with the pink stuff)

Dumbo & Great Goofini-Looks to me like a standard cupcake with either a Goofy or Dumbo white chocolate embellishment. Nothing special.

What are your thoughts? Should we add one of these to our cupcake crawl?

Hmmmm, I think I would pass. If it had caramel in the cake or drizzled on top that might entice me but the soggy popcorn doesn't sound that great. Maybe someone here has had it and can chime in. I'm not a big fan of cotton candy (well, I like taking pictures of it and like the color...but not eating it. LOL) so that would be out for me as well. Is the cake just regular cake on that one?

I zoomed in on a shot I took just a few weeks ago, I see the Dumbo cupcake you mentioned, but what is the one with the red top/heart? Do you know?

Karen-

I bet the one with the red heart is a seasonal one. Probably for Valentines day. If you look closely at the picture under cotton candy cupcake you can see a cupcake in the far back with a bunch of pink stuff on it...assuming that is the cotton candy one.

I love both cotton candy and caramel corn...but thinking of it sitting on top of icing and getting soggy....:crazy2::crazy2::crazy2: And they are just plain standard cupcakes underneath the topping...

I am with you drizzle some caramel on it and I am sold...leave the popcorn off!

Perhaps we can just all split one of those awesome looking apples instead and PRETEND it's a cupcake?!

None of these big-top cupcakes thrill me either- my vote would be to walk back to BOG & eat more of their cupcakes! :)

Hi! I just wanted to let y'all know that I am subbed to this thread. I was hoping to run W&D this year, but I had no idea it would sell out so quickly!! So, now I have set my sights on PHM. My mom will go with me as well as my cousin. We will be bringing our kids. I'm planning for my mom and myself to walk the 5K and doing the half with my cousin. Then there will always be someone with the kids. I will be ready and waiting to dial the moment registration opens!

How are we washing down these cupcakes since there's no alcohol at MK? Lol

:rotfl2::cool1::lmao:

Park hoppers between MK & EPCOT?

Hidden flasks?

This is an excellent question!

Don't forget Sunday night is Cupcake Jellyrolls night! There's the bakery right there, easily washed down by alcohol at Jellyrolls!

Welcome! Sorry to hear about W&D. This year it was even more popular because of the 5yr Anniversary of the race. That one is on my list to do...just not this year. Maybe next year.

You will love PHM! It is such a fun, women centered event. They really do try & make you feel like a princess during the course of the weekend.

Make sure you are on your computer the day registration opens!

None of the cupcakes from this weeks installment excite me :( I am not a big fan of caramel corn (or popcorn at all really) & while I don't mind cotton candy, I can only have a couple bites...but I don't want it on a cupcake.

I will save these cupcakes for someone else to enjoy :)

Now there's an idea...I have always wanted to try one of those apples but know that I could never finish one...

That is my vote too! Now we need QS lunch ressies at BOG!

flasks fit REALLY WELL in Sparkleskirt pockets...or so I have heard!! ;)

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1When I get to my longer runs this summer I was going to try out the flask idea...I had seen this posted several times and I hate to carry anything in my hands...so why not a flask pocket...no one needs to know. How about we carrying in some...HMMM RUM and spike a dole whip!

We are going to need all the cupcakes and alcohol to get us through Sunday night...

So glad you are joining in! I am sorry you did not get W&D, but hey you would miss all the fun with us! The more the merrier!

We need to have a registration party happening as we all wait for the stroke of midnight!
