Phillies Fanatics are heading to disney 9/09 1st family trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your plans sound great! I have our Ridemax plans, but I think maybe I need something like this on index cards or something, small to fit in my bag. You'll never confused about where you should be next! I don't even have all our confirmation #s in one place yet!!!

I know you told me to stay off the boards this morning, and you were SOOO right, but I mopped, cleaned 2 bathrooms, and have done 1 load of laundry so far (in an hour and 15 minutes), so I decided I get a break!

I hear you on the drug rep dinners. My DH is a vet, so they get those a good bit, and sometimes the doctors wives get to come-yum! One time they took the entire clinic (like 30+ people, and spouses) to St. Elmo's Steakhouse, which is way $$$$). The total bill was $4,600! Is that insane or what? And we wonder why drugs cost so much? So two in one week, enjoy! Just getting you ready for all the good food headed your way at WDW, right?!

hey Jana! It looks like we will be there at the same time, I leave on sunday and am staying for a week.

some details about my trip are in my 1st PRT - i cant post the link because i'm not up to 10 posts total yet....that's how new i am at this stuff!

but the title goes "one of the most strewn-together-last-minute-fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants PTRs ever"

Reese- yes I know its hard to do things while the eagles play like right now I am rushing to do some stuff so I can get back to the game. It does seem like its so far away yet but it does seem to be going faster now. I feel like it will be here before we know it. I am done procrastinating.

Jana- thats ok you deserve a break after all that work. I thought the check list was an easy way to make sure we hit the stuff we want to and not waste time on other things before the good stuff is completed. I made this little planner out of 4 x 6 index cards so soon as I am finished which I hope to be tonight I will post a pic. I figure it is small enough to fit in my purse.

I cant beleive that dinner at 4600$. Wow:eek: thats crazy. Yes now we know why drugs are so expensive. Although now most drug reps can only spend so much and do so many things for dr's. the FDA is starting to crack down on it. They cant even give out pens with there company or product names on it. I think everyone caught on to the bribing the drug companies do to doctors. It is nice to get a free meal. Tues is Shula's Steakhouse and Thursday is the Farm House which is a local rest. here. Its delicious.

WDWgirl- I hope we make it on everest. I am so excited to do it. We are thinking of doing a rider swap with this one if it works out.

gabes_mommy- thanks I am an organizational freak:laughing: It works in my favor for trips like this though. I still have not mentioned to my parents about next sunday. I think I will do that towards the end of next week when they realize they are missing the boys. We see them every sunday and by the end of the day they are usually driving my parents nuts. In a good way. You know boys are active and my parents are slowing down a little. Usually by thur or friday my mom starts saying how much she misses them. Thats when I ask so I get a good response:) Isnt it great to have some time to get things done. Never know why I ever said I had no time to do anything before I had kids. Now I surely get no time. Unless I stay up to all hours of the night. which I have been doing and am so tired the next day at work!

So tonight I had my parents get the kids from daycare. Dh started a class tonight :teacher: he is close to getting his bachelor degree. Currently he has an associates. I had to work until 6 so my parents brought the kids to the office so they got there flumist. Thought this was a good idea prior to traveling. While they were there I measured the kids with there sneakers on to see how tall they were.

Ryan 45 1/2 inches. :yay: big enough for EE, SM, BTMR, Soarin, Test Track

Nicholas 34 1/2 inches :sad1: not big enough for even the barnstormer. I was really bummed. I thought for sure he would be 35 so he could get on the barnstormer. I know he is going to be so upset when ryan goes on this. He loves the kiddie coasters. Are they completely strick with this or if he is close enough and riding with and adult will they let him go? I am all about safety but 1/2 inch. Come on!!!!

Oh, no, a stupid 1/2 inch??? I've heard they can be pretty strict about the height requirements. I've also heard that you might clear the test at the entrance, only to be measured again when you go to get on, and not pass there. To me, that trauma would be much worse, so I'd be careful if it's close, personally.

This was in the evening, right? Because I've heard even kids are taller in the morning. Maybe you could measure him again in the morning and see if there's any difference. Does he have any taller shoes (sneakers vs. crocs?)? I had been pretty sure Cooper was 35 (he was 34 3/4 barefoot at his 2 year check-up, but they were measuring him lying down on the exam table), but now I'm nervous. I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning. I should measure them both, I guess, just to be sure!

If he isn't tall enough, would he be pacified by a special treat? Like a Mickey popsicle or something? That is such a bummer! :sad1:

I was almost hysterical at the comment about being taller in the morning. Which I know is true for adults because our vertebrae just dont hold up like they used to and we slouch. For kids I am not sure but its worth a try. This is what I thought was so funny. Let me fore mention that dh thinks I have gone totally nuts with the planning. So I can just imagine the look on his face if I tell him we have to ride barnstormer first thing in the morning cause otherwise nicholas will be too short.:rotfl2: I am sorry but I think at that point he may commit me to the psych unit.:lmao: I think the treat idea or some other distraction will work ok. Definitely I agree with the not even trying it if he is close. That would be a complete meltdown to get in line and then have to leave without riding. And let me tell ya nick can do a nasty temper tantrum. kicking and pounding the floor and all. I will be trying to avoid that by all means. Thanks for the advice.

Make sure to double check cooper cause when they stand up to measure it always drops the # a little. Nicholas is on the short side and ryan is on the tall side. They are polar opposites. I never knew you could have 2 kids that are so different.

First off!!! stinking Eagles!!! At least the Phils won thou!!

Congrats to your DH for almost finishing his bachlors!!! Man it is hard to go to school when you have kids!!! I just about want to cry everynight between my schoolwork, Devon's schoolwork and trying to do everything else it sometimes seems impossible!! But in the end it will be worth it!

Quick question?? What's flumist??? Is it comparible to the shot??? I don't want Devon to get the flu shot b/c last 2 times he had it, he got really, really sick, and I am not going to put my child thru that again this year!!!

Ryan is going to have a ball being able to ride the big rides!! Make sure you and the hubby take advantage of the child swap so you both can ride the rides Nicholas can not go on. Bonus is that Ryan will get to ride everything twice! Poor Nicholas thou! :sad1: I will still measure him when your there, maybe he'll grow by then? And, there is so much to do in Toon town, I am sure you will be able to distract him from the barnstomer.

Diehard Nats fan here(God help me)! We'll be there next week and I'll miss the series between our two teams. I hope you don't hurt us too badly! I've never been so glad to see baseball season end. This one was more painful than the last, and that's sayin' something! :headache::sad2::sick:

yes it is alot of work with school and kids. I commend anyone who does it.
Flumist is the nasal flu spray. I think your son has asthma though right. If so its not indicated for children with asthma because of a possible reaction of wheezing. They (meaning the drug rep or gives us the info) said that if a child has not had any episodes of wheezing in the past year and only has mild intermittent asthma they can receive the mist. Otherwise the shot is the only thing that they can get. Thats weird that he got sick after the shot. How bad was it cause it still might be better than him getting the flu especially with having underlying asthma. I would talk to his doctor.

Yes it is sad about my shorty but I think as you said there is a bunch of distractions around there.

yes its a good thing its only pre season, but atleast the phillies pulled off a win :woohoo:

Its ok at least you stick by your team. Weve had a lot of tough years with the phillies and eagles. someday you'll get your turn too:)

Huh?? I will definitely have to ask his doctor about!! He does have asthma, but it is allergy induced and I have been able to keep it under control since the beginning of the year... Yeah, he got reall sick, I'm talking a 103 fever for a few days after he got... Very tried, cranky and just achy.

Yes, I sure hope the Eagles have something up their sleves for the regular season!!!

Oh no!! I hope he has a little growth spurt before your trip.

QUICK UPDATE:

transfer paper arrived today. The only problem is that I still ahve to go get tshirts.:guilty: I still have some projects to finish up. I didnt get as far as I wanted to this week. I got a little pooped out towards the end of the week here. So my updated plan is:

sat and sunday are out (working with my uncle at his italian festivals)
monday (labor day)- taking the kids with my parents to the Allentown Fair. for all you non-locals it is a big fair that they have every year. Rides, games, food, animals, etc. I am also using this day to recupperate from working sat. and sunday from 700 am to 9pm.

tues-friday 9/8-9/11
finish up my projects and catch up on all the laundry :laundy:

sat- 9/12
run in the morning for the first time in a few months. (i have a 5k race on 10/18 better get back in shape) then I have a pampered chef party at 4p.
try to get my designs printed on transfer paper and cut out.

sun- 9/13
ship the kids off to my parents for a few hours. watch the EAGLES game. pack and do shirts.

mon-thur 9/14-9/17
rest/clean up the house/any odds an ends.

friday 9/18- off from work
take the kids to daycare
finalize all the packing
clean up the yard
get donovans stuff together
get a pedicure

sat 9/19 We are off to philly!

I think that sounds like a totally do-able plan. The transfer paper is really easy to use, and once you do a few it'll go faster. It says it in her instructions, but definitely peel the backing off up to the start of your image, before you cut it out. It makes it way easier later. Learned that the hard way!

Have fun this weekend!

Hi everyone, Just checking in since I have been gone for 2 days. I am thouroughly exhausted after working this weekend. I kept telling myself dont worry you will be in disney in 2 weeks. That always helped my mood. Anyway, not much to report. We are taking the kids to the fair today. My ODS was so happy today when I told him we only have one more weekend before our disney trip. He started screaming yes, yes, yes and running around the house like a crazy man. Oh I hope I get that reaction when I wake him up early in the morning to say its time to go.

I plan to get back into my disney work starting tomorrow. How is everyone elses plans coming along.

I plan to get back into my disney work starting tomorrow.

Isn't it funny the closer we get the less we do?!?! Keep to the plan and it'll all come together :thumbsup2

I'm at the "Oh My God why did I think this was a good idea" phase - you'll be there shortly :lmao: A trip down south seems to have been a better decision right about now!

yes I am getting that feeling like I have all this time yet to do things but then I panick thinking omg I only have 12 days. I better keep focused! I get that panic of "why are we doing this" every now and then when my YDS is having a meltdown. I guess that probably is a frequent occurence in disney but I would just rather see other children have temper tantrums and not my own.

How was the fair? Did you guys have fun? :goodvibes

we did. the kids rode a ton of rides and we saw pig races. the pigs actually swam across a 10 foot pool. Never knew they could swim:confused3 The kids were up at 530am and had no nap and there were no major meltdowns:yay: This was very promising! I hope we have the same luck at disney.

Thanks for asking. Sorry I dont have any pics to post. Since misplacing my camera I refuse to take it anywhere before disney. I know it sounds crazy but I am not taking any chances.
