Phillies Fanatics are heading to disney 9/09 1st family trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We leave tomorrow for our overnight stay in philly! I am so excited. The kids are bouncing with excitement and energy. They only have one sticker left so they know our trip will soon be here!

I got the house all cleaned except for some dishes. I am double checking my packing list again today. Soon I will be off to visit my friend and her new baby. I dont know if I already wrote this so I apologize if I did but her baby weighed 10lbs 11.5 oz  Then after nap times we will pick the boys up at school. Go to the video store to rent the incredibles and get a pizza. Tonight is our disney pizzy party for our last night at home!
Oh and heres a funny story................
My husband went for a haircut today. Afterwards he called me and said he got this gay guy who kept dancing around him as he was cutting his hair singing katy perry's song "waking up in vegas". My husband said he never felt more uncomfortable but got the best haircut ever. The guy even trimmed his eyebrows. Mike gave him a 7$ tip. I was laughing so hard at that story. My husband is very masculine so this was hysterical to picture.:lmao:

So he is now visiting his nana and will come home and cut the grass and clean out his car.

Things are all coming together. We will be eager and ready to go tomorrow.

Here are the pictures I keep promising....

Ryans MNSSHP shirt- (most likely he wont be wearing buzz with the heat:guilty:

All the shirts look awesome! I love your MNSSHP one. Sounds like your day is going according to plan, that's great.

I plan to keep checking in on you today, but if for some reason I miss you, have an absolutely amazing trip, make magical memories, spoil your kids, and please, for the love of all things holy...don't let them drink from puddles!!!

thanks so much jana. I will try not to let them drink from puddles :rotfl:

One last question. A panic came over me about the plane again. Will they let my dh carry a backpack as his personal item, along with his duffle bag type carry on?

I think you'll be just fine about the carry-ons. We each had a backpack (the boys had their school backpacks-Spiderman ones, and we had Jansport ones), plus 3 of us had rolling suitcases, and one of us had a duffle to wear over the shoulder. We didn't have any problems as far as sizes, it was who was assigned to what bag in the view of the flight attendants. (BTW, I am still mad about that one!)

I think you'll be fine! If they give you grief, remind them that your YDS has a ticket too. I swear they didn't think Cooper should count in our bags per ticket ratio, which ticked me off. We paid every penny for his ticket too. They didn't even give us pretzels for him later, but by then I was just trying not to scream. Just be firm with them if they give you problems-they didn't like us after that, but all of our stuff made it on, along with us!

That's so cute about your aunt sending them cards! How sweet! And I love what Ryan said to you. There will be many more times he'll say that there. Overall, Griffin thought we were the best parents in the world for bringing him there!

I don't think I really got teary-eyed on the trip, that I can think of, except once. We had our Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch on Saturday. Griffin loves Stitch; he's his absolute favorite. Every morning and night when we do Cooper's asthma treatment, we bribe him with m&ms. So then we make Griffin write a word so he can have candy too (gotta make him earn it somehow, right?). Well, that morning, he told me he wanted his word to be "Stitch." So he wrote it, and then proceeded to fold it up, put it in my backpack, and tell me that he wanted to show it to Stitch at breakfast. The look of pride and excitement when he showed Stitch, and the huge hug Stitch gave him in return, it made me cry a little. Just to see the absolute joy and wonder he had-it was awesome. I wish for you guys to have tons of moments like that too. I know you will!

Sorry about your toe! That sounds painful. And I think "My DH vowed to do absolutely nothing on this trip" is a wonderful trip report title! I can't wait to read it! Chad and I had a couple of big fights there, which we don't usually have. And they all came about because I had planned for 10 months, begging him for input and opinions but getting NONE, and then out of nowhere he'd want to change things up when we were there, for no good reason. Like we agreed to come back to POP after our 5 pm Ohana dinner. It was close to 8 when we got back, and I'd promised the boys they'd get to swim. This was our second day, and I still wanted to unpack our stuff, so I figured Chad could take them while I did that. The boys were, of course, wired when we got back to the room. Chad decides that it's more logical to tell them we aren't going swimming and put them straight to bed since they were tired. You can imagine how well that went. Has he been a father almost 5 years? Honestly! Of course we ended up doing things my way, but not without a fight. Does your DH do stuff like that, or just mine?

Yay for just 2 big stickers!!! It's getting thisclose!!!

sorry I somehow missed this post before. What an awesome moment for griffin. It almost brought tears to my eyes too. I hope for many of those moments as well

Yes the story about dh. Exactly a conversation my dh and I would have. to the T. My husband just asked me a little while ago if I could show him pics of ASsports. I was like sure I can:yay: So now let me back up and say that at least 5 or 6 times I had explained to him about how the resort is set up and that the preferred rooms are in surfs up but the TD buildings are close too, so should I just request the TD buildings since we all love football. His response as usual was "whatever you think" all 6 times I asked. Well as he is looking at the pictures he says. Oh I hope we get to stay in the TD buildings that would be so awesome. This is after I already sent our request saying either the surfs up or TD buildings whichever is closer and most quiet. Now if he would of said that before I would have asked for just the TD buildings. Its enough to want to pull your hair out. :rotfl: So hopefully we get lucky and they put us in the TD room. Otherwise I know he will want me to ask if there is anyway they can move our assignment and then they will look at me like didnt she fax us a request saying it doesnt matter?:confused3

Anyway just thought I would share that with you to make you feel better. I think all wifes go through this.

Thanks for your response about the bags too. I think we should be ok. The boys each have a small wheely carryon. Me and mike have duffle bag style carryon's, and then we only have 1 lg back pack, 1 tiny purse, and 1 tiny backpack. I hope theres no problems.

Yes actually the whole week flew by. I was surprised. I do hope we run into each other but if not I will definitely talk to you back on here. I cant wait to hear all about your trip when you get back. I hope you guys have a wonderful time. Its been fun planning with you. Thanks for help making my time of waiting so much better! See ya real soon.

It's official! In 5 1/2 hours we will be heading to philly to stay overnight. Then off to DISNEY in the morning. I cant believe its finally here. For so long this trip has felt so unreal to me. Now it is finally reality.

The kids are so excited they are bouncing of the walls. My husband is even excited and now willing to listen to all the fun facts and knowledge that I have gained from talking and listening to all of you. He's amazed by all that I know. He keeps asking "how do you know that?" and I tell him "well what the heck did you think I was doing on the computer for hours at a time the past year." I dont think he understands the magnitude of my planning yet. He will soon!

Ryan woke up today and ran into our room and yelled are we going to disney today. I said no just to philadelphia to stay overnight and then we go to disney in the morning. This got a huge cheer and he ran and woke up his brother yelling "NICK, we are going to the hotel today, yeah we are going to philadelphia". He seemed just as excited to go to philly then he was at the thought of disney. I guess he understands the process. We put our last sticker on this morning and that got them excited too. This is just so much fun already I can only imagine what is in store for us.

Well I want to say thank you all for listening and reading. Thanks for all the great tips and information. This is truly an awesome site for us crazy obsessed disney planners. It makes the time fly and keeps the panic levels to a minimum. Its been great chatting with you all and I can say that I feel like a made a few new friends along the way.

I will check in with everyone when I get back. I am going to try to journal as we go so I can give you all a great TR!

See ya real soon!::MickeyMo::MickeyMo::MickeyMo::MickeyMo

You probably won't see this before you go, but again...have a WONDERFUL time! That's so cute that Ryan is so excited already; he is just going to have such a magical experience! Have fun!

Have an amazing trip!!! I can't wait to hear all about it when you get home. :goodvibes

one last post.....

It was perfect timing. Thanks to Jana my boys received post cards from mickey today. They were amazed. Nick would not let go of the card until a few minutes ago. I think he was even more excited than ryan which I didnt expect.

Thank you so much jana for our first of many magical moments to come this week!

Yay!!! I was on pins and needles today, hoping they got there before you left! Have a great time!

Hello Everyone!
We have returned.:sad1: We are exhausted and glad to be home tonight to sleep in our own bed and have our children in their own bed as well. It was a very interesting trip to say the least. We had lots of fun, many magical moments, some meltdowns.....from both the kids and the parents. Most of all we made our dreams come true:wizard:. We are sad that it ended so soon and cant wait to go back again in a few years. I thought I would want to go sooner but we would like the kids to have a few more years of growing first. I cant wait to tell you all about it, and to catch up on your TR's as well. I will need a good night sleep first! So hopefully I will get it started tomorrow.

I am still trying to decide on a title. A few choices so far are:

It's amazing no one broke any bones on this 1st trip to disney.

Is that sweat or tears....Or a little of both.

Dont cry over spilled milk...or ketchup....or lemonade....or a broken glass.....dropped breakfast plate.....etc.

As I said a trip with a 4 and a 2 year old was extremely interesting and a much different adventure than our honeymoon 6 years ago.

Yay!!!! I missed you! So glad you are home and I can't wait to hear ALL about it. I understand your feelings exactly, and think I would describe our trip exactly the same way. We had a lot of fun, definitely some meltdowns, and I was surprised to find that I wasn't dying to go back quite yet. A few years would definitely be helpful!

Start that TR SOON!

Thanks to all of you who followed along with me listening and helping to make our 1st family trip to disney a success. It was so much fun planning and even more fun executing our trip.

I have started my trip report. I would love it if you would all follow me on my story of our vacation which I will remember forever
