Phillies Fanatics are heading to disney 9/09 1st family trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so a quick update on my disney plans.

1st thing is that dh and I have decided to not wear the jessie and sid costumes for MNSSHP. Once we started looking at the stuff to buy it was all adding up and I felt that the money could be used better during our disney trip. So we decided to wear halloween tshirts and glow necklaces. Not as original but either way we will have a blast so.....

I went onto creative disigns board to find a MNSSHP design. Well now I know why I didnt let myself go on there before. I have the urge to make 20 tshirts but I am controlling myself. I found MNSSHP ones for all four of us so the kids will have a shirt to put on when they are done wearing the costumes, and I also found another exciting design.

Since realizing we were leaving on a sunday when the eagles were playing I knew we should not wear the disney shirts I bought us and we should be displaying our eagles pride by wearing our eagles attire. Well I was upset cause I pictured us all in our disney shirts at the airport, so excited for our greatest trip ever. Anyway I was still contemplating what to wear when I came across a thread labeled NFL designs. Ok so this has been the most exciting find as of yet. I got eagles mickey head designs one with mickey on it and one with tiger. They are awesome. I found a mickey phillies one too. Which I think I will save for another time. As I said I am not going to go crazy.

Well thats the update for now. I am going to go to ac moore today for shirts and transfer paper. I know the comments werent the greatest about the paper but I dont know what else to do considering I want these done ASAP. Ok talk to you all later.

Happy planning!

Cool, make sure you post pictures of your shirts when you get them done!

No way Linds!!! What an awesome find!!! I totally want to see the designed shirts when you are done!!! Yay!!! See, look at that you are supporting Mickey and the Eagles!!! :yay: :cool1:

I told you making the shirts would be an addiction! I almost mentioned the NFL Disney designs, but I didn't think you wanted to make shirts. I will say, that if you are willing to wait a few more days to make them, you may want to consider getting the transfer paper Amy is selling on there. I've used both, the kind from Hobby Lobby, and the kind she sells, and there is no comparison. The HL were so much harder to use, and didn't look nearly as nice. She sends them really fast (I think it took 3-4 days to arrive), so if you order them today, she'll send them tomorrow. You'd probably get them by Thursday. Just an idea. I'm sure if you use the AC Moore ones, you'll be fine too (and hers are a little pricey), but I was SOOO impressed. And they don't take that long to make. I printed and cut out 12 transfers last night, and it should only take an hour or so to iron them on today or tomorrow. Her website is www.amymickey.com.

OK, advertisement over! I can't wait to see what you make!

Ok, Ok, you twisted my arm:rotfl: I didnt get a chance to go to ac moore today so when I got home and read your response I decided to take your word for it and order amy's transfers. I was a little taken back by the price but I thought if it is going to make life easier its worth it. So hopefully I will receive soon. Thats more what I was worried about originally but since you said it only takes a few days I thought that was ok. I am trying to get alot done this week. Next week I will be gone all of sat and sun. My uncle has an italian festival stand that he owns and this weekend it a garlic fest about an hour away. He has roped me in to help him so my dh is spending the weekend to bond with his boys:woohoo: and I will go sell bruchetta and roasted peppers and mozzerella.:guilty: it just doesnt sound as fun.

So I will let you know once I get the papers and give it a try. I am excited to do this and thanking you for not telling me sooner because I think I would have gone overboard. Now at least I have a time limit and a budget to conform to.

Wow, you're going to be busy! I would definitely e-mail Amy (it's on that website) and tell her you ordered and are in a rush, and ask to have them mailed ASAP. She was really fast for me, and I've heard that from other people, so I'm sure you'll be fine, but it can't hurt. She'll e-mail you when she sends them too. And I know they are more expensive, but trust me, after using both kinds, they are worth every penny. The one I made with the other kind was faded and looked really cheap. These look perfect. Plus you don't have to reverse the image, which was nice. The hardest part is peeling the backing off of the transfer paper. If you have any questions as you do them, let me know. 18 transfers later, I'm getting to be an expert!

Hi Everyone. Today was a stressful day. Yesterday I realized my new camera wasnt in my purse where I thought I left it. Today when I woke up I looked around my house and couldnt find it either. I had to go to work so on my way I called my mom since I was at dinner with them the last time I used it. She checked her car....no luck, My dh checked his car........no luck, my car.......no luck. I called the restuarant we ate at......no luck, I called the movie theatre where I went sat. night..........no luck. I was starting to panic. I remember friday night coming home in a down pour of rain and leaving my car doors unlocked because I had to quick grab nicholas out while he was sleeping to run him inside. I sometimes forget my purse in the car and I couldnt remember if I did that night or not, so I thought the worse.....:scared1: oh my god someone stole my new camera. Now for any of you that read all the posts on here you may remember devon's disney mom telling me how she had the same camera twice and both times it got stolen. I thought for sure my camera was long gone and I was doomed. I went through my work day sad and grumpy thinking about my brand new camera:mad: I got home searched the house again......no camera:sad1: My dh said maybe the kids went through my purse and took it out and put it somewhere. I said "no not my children" they wouldnt do that .

Well after my dh searched around he found my beautiful week old camera.:yay::woohoo::cool1::cheer2: It was in the kids toy basket.:headache: Darn kids. They are so lucky they are cute.

So my coworkers told me today just pray to st. anthony:littleangel: and thats what I did and my prayers came true. I was never so happy.

Thank goodness you found your camera! My DS steals my stuff all the time. I can't wait until he grows out of the mockingbird stage.

Your Day 1 plans look great except for having to get up so early. :goodvibes

Oh, I can't believe your kids did that!!! It would have taken everything I had not to just beat them at that point! And we wonder why moms get gray hair! I'm glad you found it though.

Your Day 1 plan looks great. I can't believe how early you guys are getting up. How early before your flight are you getting to the airport? We had a major discussion about that here last night. My mom and DH (who just did trips with only one carry-on, and no kids or strollers!) think an hour (yep, an HOUR) is plenty of time. My MIL and FIL (who's not even going, but thinks that's nuts and is pretty vocal!), think that's crazy. I agree. So last night we settled on getting to the airport an hour and 25 minutes ahead of time (5:45 am). We're doing curbside check-in for our bag, so that should give us an hour and 15 minutes to get through the airport (not huge), through security, and board. Hopefully that will be fine. I don't want to get up super early for nothing, but I don't want to be having panic attacks on the way to the airport either! Ugh.... OK, sorry to hijack your PTR. Back to your plans!

well you have the same concerns I do. I am really hating the fact of waking up early. Not so much for me but for the kids and dh (they are all crabby when they dont get there sleep). So our hotel we are staying at does the shuttle service to the airport which is 5 minutes away. I figure if we schedule a shuttle at 445am we will get to the airport by 5am and have time to checkin bags go through security, use the bathroom, get something to eat and dont they usually board the plane 20 minutes or so before take off. So I felt I would rather get there early enough so we are not rushed. Its a hard decision to make. I also have to check with the hotel when we get there because they may only run the shuttle every 30 minutes. Then what should I do 430 or 5. So I tentatively made the plan and I will change it according to what they tell me at the hotel. My TA said you definitely want to get there 2 hours before. I dont know how right she is though. We are also flying out of a bigger airport that weve never flown out of before so thats another reason I am giving some time. I think you will be ok with a smaller airport. I remember when dh and I flew last without kids we went 2 hours prior and I can remember sitting and waiting forever. I would definitely say 1hr 25min as the min. 1 hour may be pushing it with kids.

yes I know. I am dreading that. I hope the kids arent completely miserable by the time we get to MK. I am hoping they will fall asleep on the plane like they do in the car. I can only pray:angel:. When we did our day trip to baltimore we got them up at like 515 and they made it until 630pm without any meltdowns. So I will cross my fingers that it turns out ok. Thats why we plan to only stay at MK through dinner.

Yeah a short while after we found my camera I noticed YDS taking things out of my purse. I cant beleive I never noticed him do this before. I wonder what else I am missing?

See, I told you that darn camera is cursed!!! :rotfl: Phew!! I'm just glad you found it!!! Man, I pray to St. Anthony so much that I think he's immune to my requests! LOL!! :rotfl2:

Plan for day one looks awesome!!! And I assure you you will be at the airport by 4:55a! That's how close the hotel is to the airport!!! Man I wish I was on the 7a Airtran flight!! No, I have to me on the 7p Airtran flight instead that week because I was trying to be a responsible mom and not have her kid miss too much school!!! What the heck was I thinking!!! :lmao: I love flying Airtran, the only thing that bothers be, is the terminal the they fly out of at PHL has no good food choices, other then burger king, DD and some expensive bistro, that does have good good thou!!! I love flying out of terminal A or B at PHL, man the bars and resturants they have in those terminals are awesome!!! I have had plenty of good times waiting for flights out of those!! LOL!!! Don't worry, Dev was NOT with me for those flights!!

Good new with ME, now you don't have to wait in line and check in at the desk when you arrive if you have your voucher, a CM will direct you to your resort line and check up in there!!! YAY!! Now you will get out of the airport even faster!!!

I so want to start my weekly agenda leading up to the trip, but can't b/c I am not sure when they are wanting me to come back to work, so none of that planning till after Thursday!! :sad2:

How could I resist a PTR with your title! See my avatar! I don't do trip reports, but I do so enjoy reading them. It is a great way to keep me going between trips. I am a mom of two boys also. Well, I guess at 19 and 15, they are young men now.
Sadly, my next trip has to be canceled as my youngest is having surgery the week before. We did enjoy a great trip with my best friend and her triplet daughters in June at a Grand Villa in OKW.
I can offer a little insight about the preferred rooms at ASsp. We were given a preferred room when I traveled with the Whitehall HS cheerleaders in Feb. While it was close to the food court & we overlooked the pool....Not a good idea when there are cheerleaders there as well as a large South American tour group that met every morning at the pool at 7 am, all 500 of them. If you want the preferred room, make sure you ask for one that faces away from the pool.
I have also stayed in the touchdown building and the same theory applies. If you face the football field that lies between the buildings, it can also be loud and the sound does carry. If you face the parking lot, it is much nicer, noise wise.
If your parents wouldn't of watched Donovan, I would of taken him on. We have a Yellow Lab and a Siberian Husky. I know what you mean about kennel fees. We kenneled both dogs once and then found it way cheaper to have someone stay at the house.
I am just wondering why you picked the Deluxe Dining Plan? Personally, I find that even the regular dining plan dictates too much of the park touring, plus it is soo much food.

Hi nice to find someone close to home. I actually live in bethlehem I use to live in allentown which I guess is why my location said allentown. It was a typo oops. anyway thanks for the offer of watching the dog. We will see how it goes and if it doesnt work out next time I might have to find you and take you up on the offer.:) Thank you so much for the tips on the preffered rooms. I am going to request an outside room. Would you have a preference between football or surfs up?

Ok here is my thinking between deluxe and regular. We have a bunch of character breakfasts planned and there were a bunch of other restuarants we wanted to try out. So we thought with deluxe we could pretty much eat where ever we want. Our YDS doesnt have the plan so we thought it would definitely be enough food between apps, entree, and desserts to share with him. And we planned on getting the refillable mugs anyway. So I guess overall we decided on it because we would not have to worry about paying for any meals except tips. Since free dining was being given away it wasnt that much to upgrade to deluxe. probably what it would cost for paying for 1 meal per day on reg. dining plan.

in 2003 when we went on our honeymoon we had the dining plan and it gave you credits (i forgot what they called them, something like magical wishes) and you got 3 per day. By the end of the week we were so full and tired of eating but we thought we would try it again. :confused3

I dont know I contemplated on changing back to basic but dh just said leave it so we will definitely have a great time eating.

I know what you mean about park time but with the 2 kids they will need lots of breaks to recuperate so I think it will be ok.

The surfs up is definately better because of the close proximity to the food court and bus stop. And with the little ones, you will want to be close to those. There is an elevator in the building, so the floor doesn't matter.

Remember, the "new" dining plan doesn't include appetizers. Forgot about free dining. We are DVC members and annual passholders, so free dining doesn't apply......And I am ok with that...

I fly out of Philly all the time. I want nonstop and I  Southwest Airlines. No baggage fees, and I can change my flights without a charge if the rates go down.

I think the new flights from ABE thru AirTran are nonstop. Too late for this trip, but something you may want to think about for 2010 or whenever your next trip is.

Just found your PTR and am loving it. Your boys are adorable. I love all the purchases you have made and your detailed lists look great. I can't wait for more.

actually the basic dining does not include appetizer but the deluxe does. Kind of confusing but I just checked allears.net to be sure and thats what it said. Thats awesome that you are DVC members. Yes maybe next time we can fly out of ABE non stop that would be great. They werent flying non stop when we booked our trip :( It would be so much easier and cheaper. Thanks for the comment on the rooms. It was very helpful.
