interesting:)

I just checked my airfare and it is $300. boo hoo
Omega Kappa Sigma - I guess your airline isn't as cozy with the the FAA inspectors and actually have to pay money and do safety inspections!

Cindy - I'm with Jodi (although I won't call you a tool!). You will be MUCH better over the next few weeks if you get some decent rest and recover NOW!! You still have plenty of time to get some miles in.

Steve - Enjoy the roller coaster!

I ran 8 miles this morning. I could use a nap now!

Hey MCMers,

I just got an email from MarathonFoto. They have upgraded the way that you can see your photos to make it easier to decide if you want to buy one. You have to click on the image to see it and then click again and another window will open with a much better quality photo with the word "proof" across the front. So, I looked at all of my MCM photos. Wow, kind of wish I hadn't. I didn't know that my face could contort to such horrific expressions:lmao:

Matt didn't get an email yet but was able to see his photos, so I assume you all will too (if you care).

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the "Welcome Backs".

BTW, I know why each year it gets harder to get going after WDW. It's not age, it's depression. You love us all so much you can't stand the thought of not seeing us again until who knows when. It will be better next year when we all run in Virginia Beach in March:thumbsup2 .

We're running VA Beach next year? I guess I've really been out of the loop. But, It sounds like a plan to me.

I haven't registered for Philly yet or made the reservation - but I will.

Miranda wants me to do the expedition Everest with her. I'm glad that I live close enough to make just day trips.

Jodi
I've started reading Chi Running. Well, I've read the intro chapter anyway. Tracy is developing a new training method. It involves a lot of osmosis. She's reading Chi Running, Chi Walking, Marathoning for Non Runners and Women's Marathoning for Non Runners. She hasn't done any physical training yet, but her mental training is at a 9 mpm pace.

Cindy
Don't worry about skipped miles. I've usually skipped at least 25% or the planned miles for every marathon I've trained for. I used to try and slip in make up days for the missed runs but it ended up not being worth the effort. Just renew your effort when able to get back at it.

So, who for sure from this thread is going to be at Minnie? I know that Cindy is.

Have a great weekend,

Chester

Well, I guess I'm a tool.;)

I woke up this morning feeling much better than I've felt the past 2 days and our 100% chance of rain never happened:confused3 so I decided to run. I ended up running 15 miles. It wasn't pretty. I tried to run very slowly and towards the end I was running super slow, but, for now, I'm still happy I did it. The relatives are off on their own. I guess telling them you plan on running for close to 3 hours makes them not want to wait around for you :rotfl:

Cindy - You're not a tool if you felt better! Well, maybe you're still a tool,:lmao: You must be glowing in accomplishment, congrats!:thumbsup2

I ran 7 miles & didn't have to use my rolled up toilet paper in my pocket, so it coudln't have been that bad;)

How 'bout the rest of you?

Ah, for me, well nuttin, but DH ran 18 this morning without incident, so he is officially ready for Boston. Thank goodness he made it through without too much pain or a new injury.:worship: I am getting excited about the trip to Boston. I booked the famous Boston Duck Tour for Saturday (also go to expo that day) and the womans marathon Olympic Trials is Sunday, so that should be exciting.:thumbsup2

Inspired with Carrie's Chirunning workshop report, I checked online and there is a full day seminar in Charlotte in June. I think I will do it because I know I will never "run" another marathon without changing something.:sad2: Hopefully this is a solution.

Cindy, 17 today, that is awesome!

Jodi, no Jodistop, that is exciting too!

Colleen - The Duck Tour is good fun! Spencer & I did that a few years ago!!:yay: It's a great city, you guys will have fun! I wish I could be @ the marathon trials, too. You saw Carrie's ChiRunning report, too? I've been wanting to attend one for a while, you should DEFINITELY sign up for that one in Charlotte, I KNOW it'll help you.

OK, bye.

Colleen: You'll have a fun time on the Duck Boat Tour. I lived in and around Boston for 13 years, and my best friends are still in the area. So if you have any other questions, I am happy to be your Northern New England Boston resource, while Jodi can be your Southern New England resource :thumbsup2. I haven't been to a Boston Marathon Expo since the early 1990's, but even back then it was HUGE! (and really fun).

Hi Sara, Jodi, Colleen, Stevex2, Mike, Chester, Cindy, Dave, Howard and others that I may have missed.

I've been away for a few days. Work continues to jam me up but that will be the case for the rest of this year. I got in some nice runs this week but no LR this week...just 5 miles around 6PM tonight. I just haven't had the time for the LRs and since I have no marathon in the works I figured I wasn't missing anything.

Still training for the Penn Relays 20K on 4/20 and a few other Spring races. VA Beach next March sounds like a plan. I was with a guy from VA Beach last night and his wife ran the 1/2 in March. He said it was a blast.

Good night and have a nice week!

Lou

Hey Everyone!

We're back from a little mini-trip to Hershey, PA. We enjoyed the Hershey Park. A little chilly, but the DD's got to ride lots of rides. Everything from carnival type kiddie rides to looping roller coasters for all three (DD4 rode the SooperDooperLooper 6 times!). I think the Hershey folks should give you some chocolate as you exit each ride but, alas it was not to be.

On a sad note, I have discovered another downside to getting older. The spinning rides are not near as enjoyable as they use to be:sick: .

Cindy - Nice job on the 15 miles! How are you feeling today? Still have a house full of relatives?

Jodi - So, if you take a bunch of rolled up TP for a 7 miler, do you plan to take the 12 roll economy pack for your ultra?

Lou - Good to hear from you again. I hope work is going well for you.

Chester - See Lou's above.

Colleen - I'm excited to hear about Boston. Of course, I've never been before, so I know nothing of touring with ducks, geese, or any other water foul.

Steve - We were getting on a little roller coaster yesterday and DW whispers to me "Hey, that guy looks like HummusSteve." So, in a way you were with us this weekend!

Dave and Sara - Hi guys!

Today is officially Day 1 of my Cleveland Marathon training. I've got 7 miles to do as soon as I get back from dropping DD4 off at preschool. It's kind of cold and misting out, but should be O.K. for a jaunt around town.

Have a great day!!

Steve - We were getting on a little roller coaster yesterday and DW whispers to me "Hey, that guy looks like HummusSteve." !!

There are 3 guys at the gym who look like HummusSteve! Not just a little bit, they look A LOT like SilverSteve!:thumbsup2

Not much happening in this neck of the woods. I am being lazy again. The kids have the day off school today...didn't they just have Easter break.:confused3

I have been really down the last few days, DH is away again all week. This traveling of his is really getting old fast.:sad2: I am hoping for nicer weather to brighten my spirits, it has been either cold or rainy and cold for the past few weeks.

My doubles have been dispersed throughout the country to confuse certain "entities" who may (or may not) be searching for me. Your sightings have raised concern; it may be necessary to once again alter my appearance. I shall PM all of you greeting/exchange codes and phrases so that when we rendezvous at the Philly Marathon you shall truly know my identity. (Note to self: get rid of personal photo in avatar)

Mike - The last time I went to Hershey Park was in December and it was insanely cold and most of the rides were closed. I thought the same thing about getting chocolate off the rides. I need to go back in the summer because I heard the water rides are pretty good.

Lou

Hi all.

Been a yucky day.:sad2: Its almost 11pm and I'm still at work, but waiting for the cab I called, so I figured I would check in with you all. Still going to try to get up at 5:30 to run tomorrow. Haven't run since Saturday. I feel fine, but Matt has now caught whatever cold I had.

Colleen - :wizard: for some good weather for you.

Ooh, gotta go, cab calling!

Greetings from Daphne, Alabama! I'm on a road trip for work. I have to measure a warehouse tomorrow in Gulfport, Mississipi and then go to Saraland, Alabama in the afternoon for a re-zone hearing. Wednes it will be back to Miss. to finish up the measuring, then a 9 hour drive back home. I've got my running gear with me, but I don't kow if I'll get a chance to run.

On a sad note, I have discovered another downside to getting older. The spinning rides are not near as enjoyable as they use to be:sick: .

Boy, ain't that the truth. I used to be able to eat anything and then ride anything. Now, I have to make sure that I don't eat until after ther rides.

Goodnight to all,

Chester,
W.I.S.H. Half-Fast Marathon Team

Glad to see everyone is hanging in there:thumbsup2 . I am getting an MRI next Wednesday, 4/16. However, I can't get back in with the doc for a follow-up until 5/6:mad: .

I have been really down the last few days, DH is away again all week. This traveling of his is really getting old fast.:sad2: I am hoping for nicer weather to brighten my spirits, it has been either cold or rainy and cold for the past few weeks.
 Sorry you're feeling so low:sad1: . Hopefully a nice spell of sunshine and warm temps will renew your spirits. Can you get to a yoga class while the kids are at school?

Chester -Thanks for checking in and travel safe this week. I hope you're able to get out for at least one good run:banana: .

Cindy - I hope you bagged the run this morning. You need rest at this point. :wizard:to Matt .

Mike - Wow, you really get around, don't you:rolleyes1 ? Glad you had a blast at Hershey Park and I completely agree about the decreased ability to tolerate spinning rides as one gets older:laughing: . I hope day one of Cleveland Marathon training was super:woohoo: .

Lou - Good to hear you're still managing to get in some running time to balance out the workload:cheer2: . I will be in King of Prussia Saturday night with DH for a benefit if you want to go for a run early Sunday morning. My LR IS 5 miles:rotfl: and you should be tapering for your 20K so hopefully you won't humble me too much:scared: . Just let me know if you'll be around and can make it work:thumbsup2 .

Jodi - Are you tapering yet:rotfl2: ?

Dave & Steve x 2 - :wave2:

I've been running everyday even though it's probably not in my best interest. I am out of town Saturday-Tuesday so I will try to rest a bit in anticipation of my MRI.

Happy training this weekend:cheer2: !

Sara - I'm glad to hear that you are going to get an MRI. Hopefully you will finally get some answers. Sorry that you have to wait for so long for the follow up, that seems to be really common with orthos.

I did run my 5 miles this morning. Yes, I may need the rest, but sometimes getting up and doing something for myself makes me really happy when I know the rest of the day is going to be filled with things that I really don't want to do. Having houseguests sucks. I can't wait until they leave. It was nice to have them visiting over the weekend, but now that I am trying to go to work and stuff, it is just too disruptive to my normal routine.

Uh-oh! Look, Jodi's hacked into Cindy's computer and stolen her password too!

Cindy - Hang in there! When are they leaving?

Chester - Happy measuring! I hope you're having a good time.

Sara - Study hard for your MRI. You want to be sure to get a good picture:rotfl: . I'm sorry that it's going to take so long to get the results. I sincerely hope it provides some answers.

Colleen - Things going better today? PD:wizard: coming your way.

I ran 7.4 miles yesterday. Ended up being an unintentional tempo run. Rest day today and 6 on tap for tomorrow.

Take care everyone.
