Cindy and Mike: Congratulations!

Great effort on those PRs!

Cindy: Great race; a congrats to your DH for his race as well. I hope all goes well for you guys during your trip out west. Safe travels.

Mike: You fly to a PR and you aren't even sore? (are Ultras next?) And a shout-out to your support crew: Hi Kathy!

Again, nice job guys. Hello to everyone :wave2: Have a great Sunday.

NICE WORK MIKE & CINDY!!

Wow, so PROUD of you guys!!

Cindy - I guess you're on your way to AZ now, here's to safe travels. Now, about that PR!! Holy Cow:thumbsup2 That's unreal! I'm sooo happy for you & glad that your training plan worked as well as it did! See, now you KNOW that those crappy runs here & there don't mean a thang! WTG, woman. Give my congrats to Matt as well, for him to be pain free is sayin' something, he must be ecstatic!

Mike - What can I say? That is such a SWEET PR, I'm proud & envious...but mostly proud:hug: , good for you! Happy you're feeling fine as well, that's just the icing on the cake, right?:yay:

I will refrain from commenting on your man-ho tendencies @ the portapotty lines w/ Cindy - what are you a Mormon, now? I can not be as forgiving as the other women & will seek revenge at a later date!;). Kathy is a saint:worship: Cindy, I do not blame you for this sordid debacle!

Seriously - Nice job guys! Another one under your belt(s), another reminder of how you can accomplish something that, probably 2 - 3 years ago, you never thought possible!:thumbsup2 Reflect fondly,be happy & proud!

Geeze, with all the abuse about the Porta-John you would think we all actually went into the same one at the same time!

I'm really glad that I didn't mention that the guy in line right behind us had his hound dog with him!

You fly to a PR and you aren't even sore?
Steve - If it makes you feel any better, my quads are a bit tender today.

I also have some lingering soreness in my neck/upper back area from an injury I sustained last week while YAWNING!!! Now that is the definition of getting old. When you pull a muscle yawning it's a slippery slope to some old-folks home.

Hi All! (Drive by posting....)

PHILADELPHIA MARATHON REGISTRATION BEGINS THIS TUESDAY, APRIL 1.

This is no April Fools either! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Cindy and Mike- Congratulations on your PRs!!! Wow, those are absolutely awesome times! WTG! You have definitely represented the team well. We're all so proud of you.

Cindy- Travel safely to AZ, and best wishes to your family and husband.

Mike- What's your BQ time? Are you close to it at all?

OK, who's ready to sign up for Philly tomorrow? Did anyone reserve rooms yet? Are people signing up for the Embassy Suites? Maybe I should do that today before registration opens tomorrow.

Mike and Cindy - Way to go!! Those times are excellent. You must both be proud of your performances.

Mike - That's a pretty high bar to set for Philly. You definitely earned the post position for that race.

Not much running for me this weekend. I skipped an LR on Sunday to do yard work. 3 hours of raking wet leaves was actually not bad CT. I’m sorer today than I normally am after a run.

Lou

Mike- What's your BQ time? Are you close to it at all?

Dave - Good to hear from you. How's the hip?

Ah, the dreaded BQ time.... 40-44 = 3:20, 45-49 = 3:30

I'm close enough to dream. On the other hand, Saturday's race went just about as well as I could ever hope. I look at my splits and it's hard to see that many minutes going away.

Alright, shhhh. Don't tell anyone but here is my super secret plan. As long as my legs cooperate, this fall when all 3 girls are in school all day I'm going to try to really train hard. Add some miles, XT more, increase speed. Then, I'd like to really go for it at Philly.

I just turned 43 last month. A 3:20 is pretty much out of the question but 3:30? In a perfect world, who knows. Anyway, I think I could use a sub 3:30 in Philly for Boston 2010 when I will be 45.

Again, don't tell anyone and I reserve the right to deny ever saying any of this when common sense returns (or Kathy gets completely fed up with this mid-life crisis running thing).

I did book a room at the Embassy Suites. We will probably just drive in Saturday morning and stay 1 night.

Lou - I've got the wet-leaf XT on my schedule for the next day or two as well. Yippee!

I went to the gym this morning and rode the bike for 30 minutes just to loosen everything up. Nothing really hurts but I can tell my walking is a tiny bit funky at times. It's like you expect your foot to hit the ground and it doesn't do it exactly like like you thought.

See ya!

Hello to all my DisBots!!

I got my Goofy certificate, et al, today! YAY! Everyone else got theirs?

Dave - Any running in your schedule? I'll be signing up for PHilly tomorrow, but haven't booked my room yet @ Embassy Suites. Guess I'll do that tomorrow, too.

Mike - Wow, those BQ times are hideous, I had no idea!! And I had no idea that you were so OLD:laughing: :scared1: I thought you were like, 30-something. Obviously you snuck in in the middle of the night & robbed Kathy's parents' cradle!;) that they kept the poor, little thing in. I know I'll never qualify for that race... wouldn't run it if I did! Careful when you ramp up your training...don't get hurt, there, Skippy!

Lou - Raking leaves blows!:lmao:

I did the bike thing @ the gym today for 45 minutes...it sucked! Yesterday I ran 10 miles & it felt great (forgot gu & water & such:confused3 , though). I actually wasn't planning on going that far. 3 weeks & counting 'til the ultra:scared1: wish I was Mike & Cindy & it was already over:dance3:

Jodi - Nice job on the 10 miler.

I am plenty old, it's true. And yes, I did rob the cradle a bit. Not quite so big a deal now as it was when I was 23 and she was 19. Luckily, when her parents met me they recognized my imbedded immaturity and it all balanced out!

Don't count Boston out so easily. You lovely beauties get an extra half hour. I'm thinking you have it in you if you can stay out of the john!

I got a bit of the run around making the Embassy Suites ressie today. Finally, I was directed to ask for "In-house Reservations" since the corporate place in New Dehli or wherever that take reservations for the whole chain couldn't access the marathon rate. The goofball had me spell "marathon" 3 times before he figured out that he couldn't find the rate :headache: .

Mike - I could never qualify for Boston. Too much lead & stuff in the posterior to ever produce such a fast marathon time!:rotfl2: I've gotta call for the Embassy Suites as well, but WILL NOT have patience to deal w/ a non-spelling reservation-taker. Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure & ask for in-house ressies.

HELLOOOO, where' everyone:confused3 , I mean, I know Mike's not posting 'cause he got busted at work, but....

Did anyone sign up today for PHILLY?

Mike, your Boston plan is exactly what DH did. His marathon was in December of 2005 when he was 44 but didn't make the 3:20 time, (which was his first goal pace). He did make his 3:30 goal so he had to wait until he was 45 in 2007. Luckily he was able to defer when he got injuried last year.

By the way, I have 100% confident you will get to sub 3:30. Dude, you just started this running career, I know you have it in you!:thumbsup2

Jodi, I haven't signed up for Philly yet. To be honest, I probably won't sign up for Philly until the Fall.

I mowed the lawn today for my cross training. We have a really hilly yard so it really wiped me out and ... I am really out of shape.:sad2:

I AM IN! I JUST REGISTERED!!! WOO HOO !!! :dance3: :woohoo: :cool1: :yay:

OH Crap!... 26.2 miles, huh? :headache: :confused3 :worship:

I'll be ready! :thumbsup2

What d'ya mean "Mike's not posting". Every other post is mine!
Allright, allright, keep your panties on!! Hey, any chance I'll get to see those photos from the marathon?:rolleyes1 I mean, I guess you could always bring them to Philly or to Disney in Jan...

Howard - Glad to see you've got your finger on the pulse & have signed up already!:thumbsup2

Colleen - I hate mowing the lawn...have you got your tickets to the Minnie???:rolleyes1 . I'll prolly wait a while to sign up for Philly, too. (don't tell anyone, but I'm getting sick of this running crap...shhhhhh!).

Cindy - RU back yet?

Chester - At least I think that's your name, can't remember, it's been so long....Aren't you going to Alabama or Mississippi or something to run a marathon sometime soon?

Dave - Did you make ressies for NYC?

Lou - When's your next race again? Did you sign up for DL half? I think I'm going to take the plunge & do that today...not sure where I'll get the $ from to fly out there, but let's think positive:rotfl2: :yay: . NOT one of my strong points. Hope work's prosperous!

HummuSteve - Hope things are ok on the homefront...or was it YOU who signed up for the DL 1/2???:confused3

OK, time for a pep talk, guys. Not sure why I signed up for this ultra:sad2: . I ran 4, whybother, miles yesterday (interrupted by a JodiStop) & 45 CT on Mon. Today I'll run. My lack of a structured training plan has me a little concerned now. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to "participate" in this thing, just curious as to how it's all going to go down.:lmao: Oh well, we'll see:rolleyes: . So, what I'm looking for from you guys is some serious poopy-ladened positive talk, you know, "you can do it Jodi, no big deal, only 5 miles more than a marathon"...that kind of crap.:woohoo: Thanks!

Good Morning Phillanators.

I want to thank you all again for all of your support.

I am back. We got home at 11:45 pm last night (after leaving the hotel in Phoenix at 7:45 am - long day with some flight delays).

I'm sick:sick: Hopefully just a little head cold. I'm loading up on the Vitamin C.

I've got a busy week at work for what's left of it and then have a crazy weekend coming up. My aunt and uncle are coming to visit on Friday, which is nice, but they are staying with us for 7 days:scared1: Did I mention before that Matt and I live in a rather small 2 bedroom condo with 4 cats!?! And then Matt's parents will actually be in town for the weekend and next week because his dad has a conference (staying at a hotel). And then my sister decided that she would come down for the weekend (sleeping on the couch) so that she could see everyone. And then my dad decided that if everyone was coming for the weekend that he would too (I told him he needs to get a hotel). Somehow, I'm going to try to fit a 17 mile run in there - I've got a marathon in less than 2 months! I was so focused on the half that I wasn't even thinking about how soon the RnR marathon was.

Jodi - Seriously - you can totally do the ultra. Not only is it only a little bit further than a marathon, it's so many fewer miles than the Goofy. And that 18 miler that you did last weekend was at a super fast pace. Even if you slow down by a minute or more per mile, you'll still have a great time for your first ultra.

I should get back to work. I'll try to catch up with everyone else later.

Jodi

"you can do it Jodi, no big deal, only 5 miles more than a marathon"...:thumbsup2

better you than me, shhh

:rotfl: :lmao: I know, I know....that's what everyone's true feelings are...Thanks for trying though, Cindy and welcome HOME! Your weekend with family sounds REALLY heinous!:lmao: , and if I'm reading it right, they're all YOUR family, right? If so, your husband is a saint!! :rotfl: You're going to need that 17 miles for sanity purposes, never mind training!

Noplanimus (so named after the Roman gladiator that peformed remarkably well inspite of the "I'll figure it out once the lions show-up" approach) - I was gonna give you the tough love speech. You know: "Get your head out of you a**! Quit whining! You're the one that knew you could do this when you signed up! What, are you girl or something? Do we collectively need to come up and kick your sorry butt?" Something like that.

But I truly understand how delicate the runner's psyche can be, so I'll give you the sunshine and daisies out the rump schpeel instead.

Come on sister, you know how well you've run over the last year. You're getting stronger all the time. You've been training steady enough to maintain your fitness and you've had some fabulous runs lately. There's no pressure and you're sure to get a PR. It's all good! Just enjoy yourself and then be proud that you're an ultra-woman because we will sure be proud of you!

And don't you forget it or I'll have to break open a can of whoop-a** and set you straight!!

Howard - Nice job being on the ball. I wonder if you were the first to register. Maybe you'll get an early bird special prize.

Colleen - Do you hire out to do lawn work? My lawn is hideous! Somehow running became more important than doing all that junk that I don't particularly enjoy as it is. I'm thinking some nice green carpet would be the only thing that will help.

Still enjoying the Math Mommy thing?

Cindy - Welcome back. I've got an idea. Maybe you and Matt could tell all your company that you are going out for milk. You're welcome to come stay with us for a night or two. They'd probably never notice you're gone.

I ran 4.5 miles this morning at a slightly faster than planned clip. Everything feels pretty good at this point.

Ooo! Gotta go. I have to pick DD11 up from school.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement...I'll make pretend that you mean it & really care:lmao: .

I had a HUGE, chick-like melt down yesterday...hey, I'm allowed once in a while. It was one of those mind-melds that make me hate being a woman:rotfl: . Around 1 p.m. I decided I didn't want to run, no excuse except that it was too windy, I just didn't feel like it. So I said it aloud (thank god I work alone), angrily, swearing as I ranted that it was ok not to run today, trying to convince myself...I stayed @ work late & continued to talk to myself:lmao:

On the way home I almost started to cry...all because I didn't run  :confused3 .

As the evening waned my son kept asking "what is wrong with you, you seem all angry?" Poor kid's got no chance. After dinner I went on a feeding frenzy of sweets (all organic, mind you); a chocoate bar, 3 cookies & concluded with a pop-tart like thing & a big glass of milk. Bruce just shook his head when he got home & I told him of my antics. "You need so much help" was all he could muster...Gotta love the support:love:

I'm happy to report that the hormonal insanity is gone & I plan on leaving work early today & getting a nice run in...supposed to be 50. PHEW.

So, how was everyone elses Weds.?

Mike - I forgot to ask you...what's Cindy like in real person? Is she a whack-job like someone else on this thread (me) or semi-normal?:rotfl: popcorn::
