This week so far I had an evoked potential test (3 hours!), then yesterday I had an MRI of the c-spine and MRA of the brain. Today I had blood work. There was 18 different tests they were doing and they took 5 vials of blood!

I will know results next week. Hopefully something will show up because I really don't want a lumpar puncture.

On a happier note, our vacation was fabulous!

Glad you enjoyed your vacation! You deserved it.

Hoping to hear some reassuring / good / news they can do something with soon.

They only took five vial's of blood? That's not too bad :teeth:

Try to avoid that lumbar puncture... not fun at all... I got a two week spinal tap headache after mine :confused3 BLECH...

Glad to hear you had a good trip!

Whew, what a week you've had!

So how is the new neuro? Sounds like he's taking you seriously and being very thorough. That's a good thing.

BTW, DD said her lumbar puncture was not nearly as bad as she imagined it was going to be... she said to tell you not to worry too much if you have to have one. (And that's coming from an 18 year old who had the lumbar at age 15)

She's never done the EP test though, so she said she's coming to you for advice if she ever needs one. ;)

I hope you get some answers soon. :grouphug:

Too funny, I didn't see the previous post before I hit submit.

Guess everyone reacts differently huh?

This new neuro is great! We spent quite a long time together going over everything. He says something is definitely going on, we just need to figure out what. About 6 years ago the Docs thought I had a stroke. I spent 3 days in the hospital and they said no, no stroke, just a migraine. this new Doc isn't convinced of that. I never was either. Its so nice to finally find somebody who will listen to me.
Cats mom- When and if I do have to have the spinal I'll be contacting your daughter for support! LOL

Well, to be honest, I guess it wasn't the LP that was SO bad, it was the headache!!! It really stunk for a full two weeks until it was gone!

It took me close to 8 years for a diagnosis, so some of these answers are just sometimes slow to come... BUT, I've had every test known to mankind & it wasn't until the muscle biopsy that we finally got answers...

You know DD's neuro was adamant about her going home, laying down and staying completely down the rest of the day (she had her lumbar on a Fri. afternoon) and he wanted her pretty much off her feet the rest of the weekend as well.

We vegged out and watched a lot of movies that weekend!
Maybe that helped. DD did still get a bit of a headache on Monday when she went back to school, but her neuro said it had nothing to do with the lumbar. Of course part of that may have been ego talking as he claimed that no one had EVER gotten a LP headache when HE did the procedure.

I'm so glad you found a good neuro that you're comfortable working with!
