2027 Disney Summer Cruises

I wouldn't be surprised to see more European and UK cruisers on DCL in Europe with these current trends.
Honestly, not at 2026 pricing! They must have sold a decent amount of rooms as a few months ago all the prices had a huge increase. I’m on the 9 night from Rome and what I paid for an oceanview when I booked is now cheaper than the current inside room rates.

I agree for 2027 though, for me there is much less risk sailing from Europe than from the US in the current climate. (I live in the UK.)

The last few years GT rates were out before PIF date. They started dropping in January. I would see what goes on this year. The cruise that goes to Croatia was selling really well. I was originally booked on that until switching to NCL. My cruise on NCL has gone up a lot. Croatia seems to be a hot destination right now. If the cruise goes there or some place else that is new I would book early. For the generic stuff I wouldn't rush into it.
Croatia is amazing. We stopped at Dubrovnik last year on our Virgin Voyages cruise and had an amazing time there. For that matter, Kotor in neighboring Montenegro was just as good.

My biggest issue with DCL on these itineraries, having now done both DCL and another line (VV) is that DCL tends to sail out of Civitavecchia. Personally, to me the draw of those Med cruises is Greece, so why not start there. While our DCL cruise was great, it took 2 days to get to/from Greece. Personally, I find it much better to go out of Piraeus (Athens) as you are right there. (Also, I find that for whatever reason, even though Athens is not as "pretty" as Rome, I much prefer it).

I would love Disney to switch it up and sail from Athens instead of Rome. Hoping they decide to bring two ships at some point and can try some new things in the Med. I’m hoping they continue their overnight stops too so you don’t have to rush to get back to the ship!

Did you mean to say Germany is the largest economy in the EU? It is, but it is about 24% of the EU GDP which isn't most.

But that aside, an American booking in Europe right now will be getting about 10 percent less for their dollar against the Euro. A European booking a cruise in USD will be getting about a 10 percent discount. That would make a difference for me. Even our own puny Canadian dollar is doing quite well, my actual cruise cost decreased by almost 5 percent between my booking date and my payment date so that was a tiny bright spot for me amongst all the economic gloominess these days. I wouldn't be surprised to see more European and UK cruisers on DCL in Europe with these current trends.
It has no effect on prices for Americans that make up the majority and f the bookings. When the economy is bad I’m not sure 10% will make a difference.

I would be happy if they would have two ships, one doing Northern Europe, the other the Med. I would prefer to cruise to Norway in June when days are really long or in the Med in September or October when the weather is less hot again.

It obviously has an effect on flights, hotels, restaurants, shops, admission to tourist attractions, etc. And if Disney's costs go up because of the weaker dollar, then the cruise fares might go up, too.

That would be amazing! We cruised (non DCL) to Norway last June and it was a wonderful time to be in the fjords. And we prefer the Med in the shoulder season too. We are hoping to go to Italy and do a cruise as early in the season as possible next spring to try to avoid the crazy heat. And hopefully two ships would give the chance to visit some of the more interesting ports as well. We loved Dubrovnik and the Greek islands and it would be awesome to visit Malta or Kotor or somewhere new.

They are visiting Malta this year! I agree on Kotor, and I’d like to see them add a port in Turkey or even somewhere in Northern Africa. And I agree I’d love to do the Med in September/October time.

I really enjoyed my September Norway cruise too as you saw some stunning sunsets from the ship, often still in the fjords. In June that would be way too late for me. 😂
