Chapter Twenty - Volume 2
We piled in the Booger after POFQ and headed to go shopping at the Cast Connections store.
I adore that place. Just odds and ends are everywhere and you never know when you will find some treasure.
This time I bought some Christmas goodies. Pale blue and white tree skirt and stockings with Mickey daintily embossed throughout. Bought a sweatshirt for my niece and a few other goodies.
Dan walked into the other store only allowed for cast members and found me an awesome pair of patchwork mickey flannel pajama pants.
Finally, we were back in the van and after a quick stop at Disney University where Dan bought tickets for Taylor to Typhoon Lagoon and Epcot, we were off!
It was a sunny day and although not blazing, it was warm. Every time we are at Typhoon, we have a specific spot we like to make camp at. It is around the left side between Crush N Gusher and the shark reef/lunch area. It is never crowded unless the park is jam packed and if you want to relax - there is plenty of quiet.
Everybody got slathered up in sunscreen and Baylor donned his sock. The 4 kids went off and Dan and I did a lap on the lazy river.
Eventually we all snorkeled with the sharks and when we came out, Carsyn decided to get a ring from the Pearl Factory.
She picked out the setting and got a stone that they had loose rather than opening one that was not the color she might want. Again, I love me a big ole ring but Carsyn is more into simpler jewelry so she asked to downsize the pearl I would have picked. It was not about saving money, it was about the look and I appreciate her knowing what she likes. This was in lieu of a class ring and I don't think I have ever seen it off her hand more than doing dishes and showering.
It has plumeria flowers on the sides and although not cheap, will always be a special keepsake. She bought herself one July 2009 that was about $70 and had a pearl she had opened but it turned her finger green and in December had to take it back. The lady then said she needed actual silver and not plated stuff. She just has they type of skin that can only tolerate more precious metals. (I am sure her husband will be thrilled!)
Here is a picture from prom that some of you might not have seen.
After getting back to our gear, we had some sandwiches and chips and a bottle of water. Of course the boys inhale their food and need to entertain
themselves while waiting for the rest of us to finish.
They decided to become lunatics and freak out passerby's.
That's right. They stood along the sidewalk, directing traffic at times, acting like models at others, delighting at the quizzical looks from those in swimsuits, just trying to get to H20.
Some would see them and do a double take, not sure if they were a few apples short of a peck or possibly on rampant amounts of illegal narcotics.
There were people behind us in the sand lot, laughing at them because as people would walk by, at times the boys would imitate them or perform an impromptu skit - all the while having their noses altered in the mask.
For example - a hairy man walked by with his less hairy (thank God) wife, and after they passed - Treyner pretended to pet Baylor's back.
A couple walked by and the man had a beer belly 10 feet out in front (literally Kate Gosselin's sextuplet belly) and wearing a speedo.
I at first did not think he actually had on a swim suit till I saw his backside because his whole front was covered by the overhanging foopah.
Well Treyner, covered Baylor's goggles like he should not be seeing such sights after the guy passed.
For the most part though, they just Vogued.
They never broke form in their fierce Tyra moves and Taylor and Carsyn who were Trying to get some rays - spent most of the time, scooting their chairs as far back as possible to pretend they did not know them at all.
(I had pics of Carsyn but they seem to have gone AWOL...
)
The kids swam in the lazy river, scouring the bottom for money and lost anything and after a few more turns on some water slides - it was getting to be late afternoon and we were all starving. Time to head back to POP, get changed and get our eat on at Ohanna's!
