"Personally, I think I would make a great stripper!" 8/10 The End

 It sucks that your family has to go through that. Must be hard to see your dad so depressed.

My dad was out of work for a long time, and he ended up on anti-depressants.....It's hard to watch your parent like that

- he is having surgery today to move muscle to the hole in the knee and hope it heals. He does not want them taking muscle from his good leg because if the new would they create does not heal - then he has a problem in that leg too. I don't know what to think. He is beyond depressed and it has been 3 months since his amputation and by now he expected to be mobile. Now we do not know when that might happen.

It just sucks.

I will keep your dad in my prayers, I hope the surgery goes well!

Hope your Dad's surgery goes well and he can recover quickly, the sooner he's up and about the better his spirits will be. Stay strong and we are with you.:grouphug:

Your trip reports are fantastic! The chapter at POFQ with Baylor, Carsyn and the powdered sugar had me laughing loudly out loud at work.... good thing I work midnights.....Thanks so much for your reports!

Just got all caught up. I basically laughed through all of your updates - so funny, especially the stripper story and Baylor and Treyner at Typhoon Lagoon :lmao:.

I hope your dad's surgery went well and I am praying for a speedy recovery. :flower3:

i love that the boys never cease to find ways to entertain themselves.

and for clarity, the term is "FUPA", standing for Fat Upper :cat: Area...(or i guess you could say "public" without the l, however there is no clever emoticon for that :lmao: )

Love the latest update!! on a side note I finally got around to making your Chicken Pasta Salad for my coworkers baby shower and it was a huge hit, especially for the mommy to be since there are pickles in it :lmao:
Thank You for the recipe!!

I also wanted to say that I am thinking about you and your family and I hope that everything went ok with your fathers surgery.

Hi all!

Thanks for all the well wishes - I will post a proper reply to each of you later.

Update:

Dad was not able to have surgery. The plastic surgeon who was going to perform it went in and after debris-ing his leg - knew there was not enough good tissue for the grafts to attach to.

So they are using a wound vac on his knee to get good tissue to come to the surface. He was moved from the hospital last Wed. to another assisted living place that can change out his wound vac, take care of his IV pick line and overall care. He goes into the surgeon today to see if it looks good enough yet to go forward with the grafting :worship: or if he needs more time or if it is not healing like they hoped.

The good news is his diabetes numbers are in control and I think some of that is due to me threatening to lay a beat down pirate: on my sister who loves him to the point of being co-dependent and brings him food not diabetic friendly when he asks. :sad2:

Then while all that was going on, we had Family Burn Camp for Baylor last week and just got back late Saturday. It was awesome. I am excited to share some pics with you guys. So good for all of us and I cried less than last year by a ton so a sign of healing for me for sure! :teacher:

I will get this TR done by Thursday.

Umm...we leave for our next Boogerlicious Adventure on Thursday for SC, dropping Treyner off at college and a few days on the beach! We will need a TR on that one for sure so I will start a quick PTR today for that! NEED TO GET THIS ONE DONE!!!

One thing I worked on a lot at camp was guilt about Baylor and getting rid of it. It has consumed me on some days and all the logic in the world cannot make you toss it to the side at times. Then you feel guilty for things the guilt takes you away from.

Like this.

So in effort to rid my guilt and move past some stuff, I am going to work on DOING something constructive when those thoughts creep in. Walking, cleaning, writing etc.

The next TR may be done in a week! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Next installment or 2 coming today!!! :dance3:

Sounds like a good plan to me! I think when your child has major medical issues, there is always an element of guilt. Channeling that mental energy in a positive way is a very good thing. Been there.

:thumbsup2

Have a great trip in the big booger! I hope you don't leave too much snot on the road as you travel along!
Well honestly, if there is any snot, I hope you DO leave it on the road because it doesn't belong in the booger with you!

I hopped over to your PTR but don't forget about us over here hahaha!
Glad to hear that your dad is doing better with his diabetes and I hope that what they are trying out for his leg right now works out!

Chapter Twenty One: Move your Poi Poi for my Pot Sticker!

As we got a bit more dressed up than Typhoon Lagoon allows, the excitement of the feast to come was palpable.

I absolutely think Ohanna's is the best restaurant I have eaten as a TS at WDW. I love that place and the kids fell in love at Christmas when they got to go as well. So the only Poly Virgin was Taylor and all she knew was she better be prepared to eat and enjoy the surroundings!

We were lucky enough only weeks before to snag a late night reservation and I was hoping we would see the fireworks and electrical water parade.

This of course depends on seating location and although not a long wait, we got sat in the exact same spot as we were in December! Opposite end of the room from the windows overlooking MK!

The disappointment in that was soon overshadowed by the bread that was brought out Chop Chop Wikki Wikki!

Taylor just starving and wondering why I am taking pics at the table!

We all loved every bite of food! The kids liked the dessert this time when last time they did not think it was amazing. Maybe they were so full from pot stickers they never really got to enjoy the taste in December.

Now they knew to pace themselves.

We did get to see the fireworks and it was nice listening to the music as it was piped in. Dare I say even romantic.

When we were all finished, we shopped a bit and Dan surprised me with an Epcot CD and we bought "The Princess & the Frog" to watch on the trip home. No one had seen it!

Then it was outside for some pics in the tiki torch lagoon area!

So Handsome!
It's like you have your own body guard. How tall is he, like 9 foot!??

I really like Ohana. However, the first time we were going there, everytime one of my parents would mention the name, the other would say "Ohana means family." So by the time we actually ATE there, I was so tired of hearing it that I would literally scream and run away if anyone mentioned it. And of course, the first thing the "cousins" tell you is that.....Ohana means family. Guess who was unamused.

Just so you know, your TR is saving me from killing my possible future in-laws. So update soon, you're saving lives.

I have to try Ohana's I've never been able to snag a dinner there we are gonna try for one in may when we go. You guys look so happy together its really nice to see and the kids always seen to be getting along so well, you can tell they really care about each other the way they go out of their way to torture each other, that takes real love. I'm Hoping my trip with the kids in Oct.2011 will be as much fun. The one in May is just me and Dan, the one in Oct is me and the kids, Dan is staying home with the zoo. Did I tell u we added 2 Kittens to the mix. Now its 4 dog, 2 cats, and 1 ferret. What was I thinking.:confused3

Ohana sounds soooo YUMMY right now! :goodvibes
Sounds like you had fun there...and you can't beat fireworks!!!
