People Choice Awards

I some how think if you are able to attend you are more likely to get more votes and win

Voting for yesterday's awards ended on Dec 6th. I don't think attendance would make much difference.

And they attend because they were told in advance that they won. ;)

The video of Hugh Jackman accepting his award last night was taken backstage at his Broadway show (he's still wearing the body mic he used in the show and the autographed posters they sold for charity are right behind him). That show ended almost three weeks ago, so he found out awhile ago that he won.

It's the same for anyone else, being told you won is as good as an invitation to attend the show.

But it doesn't mean being able to attend the show makes it more likely you'll win.

I am thinking it is all 12 yr olds who do the voting. Talent doesn't seem to come into play. Its a popularity contest!

For the Favorite Movie Icon award, Morgan Freeman beat out George Clooney & Harrison Ford and Tom Hanks. Morgan Freeman??? Does anyone really think George or Harrison or Tom would have shown up? In a way, I do think Morgan won it because he could use the publicity boost, and he did show up to accept the award.

Since people can vote as many times as they want, the employees at People's Choice Award (or their friends or relatives,) could also vote as many times as they need to, to guarantee that someone who will show up gets the award. :rolleyes1

Okay, so you are saying it is rigged (I would consider having employees vote so that the show gets the winners that they want to be rigging). It that situation, I could see how knowing someone is (or isn't) going to show up, could effect the outcome.
