OMG, that last singer, Demi Lovato was PAINFUL to listen too. I don't think she could find one note she was looking for. Searching all over for them.

To be honest, I didn't even know they still handed those out. Thought they went the way of the Cable Ace Awards. Still haven't figured out how Cable TV shows people have to pay to watch can win an Emmy over a TV show on a commerical network.
Don't tell me who won, the show is just starting on the west coast (although the results are already on the web)....except my daughter wants to watch The Daily Show instead.

Has anyone here ever voted for the People's Choice? I went to the website this year, I wanted to vote for the people from Castle. You could vote as often as you wanted, if I had wanted to spend the time I could have voted over and over again. I thought it was a joke. That probably explains why the same people win again and again.

I didn't even know half the people, they had some weird categories.

They still win by vote, but they're told whether or not they won in advance. That usually determines whether or not they show up. There's no real 'surprise' at the People's Choice Awards, they show is pretty planned out in advance once the voting is done.

I didn't watch the show, but from what I understand she's been through a lot and has been doing quite well. I'm thinking her fans voted her in as a way of support. That's better than the Twitter universe, which made a big deal of calling her fat after her first post-treatment appearance a few months ago. Stay classy, internet.

How? Unless you are suggesting that the it is rigged and that the winners are not actually based on the votes from the public. It is not like the potential winners announce ahead of time whether or not they can attend, so those voting (i.e. the general public) wouldn't have that information at the time that they vote and, thus, cannot be basing their votes on that.

That still has nothing to do with your claim that being able to show up makes you more likely to win - something you've said a few times, but you seem unable to explain your reasoning.
