Over on the UK Community Board, there's a thread on Easter Eggs. I chimed in with the info that Easter just wouldn't be Easter without Peeps. I was told that Brits don't have Peeps. Can you imagine? :earseek: A life without Peeps?

I'm not real fond of eating the piles of goo myself, rather I like to microwave the little buggers.

Got me thinking. I'm sure other people have Peep abuse stories. Well?

Yeah, I abuse them real bad....I throw them out!! Blech, my husband likes them, as do the boys but, blech! My MIL will buy like three boxes of them (which means 15 rows for the boxes she gets) and maybe one box will be consumed before I toss them. ;) ;)

Eerm I'm English but hang out here a lot. What are Peeps?

there is nothing better than a stale peep!!! The harder the better!!!

I just microwaved my last peeps about an hour ago. Gotta buy more, I guess. :D

Yum!!

I bet they are good microwaved.

Peeps are Marshmallow Chicks or Bunnies or Ghosts at Halloween or Santa's at Christmas.......they are covered in colored sugar.

They sound yummy, I wish we had them!!

A marshmallow-type product in colors not typically found in natural foodstuffs...often in shapes vaguely resembling chicks and bunnies...PEEPS!:)

I like to decorate baskets with them, but that's in. No one in this household eats them.

they make them here in the lehigh valley
Just Born actually has a peep mobile
a giant VW bug yellow car shaped like a peep
peeps are big business around here
My cousins ex is like the head peep lady or something
I actually saw her on the travel channel on a special about food talking about the peeps
good job "L"

I think Peeps should be outlawed. They're something, but they sure aren't anything that should be edible.:p

When you microwave a peep, it expands to about a the size of a baseball. It's really cool to see.

I like eating them hot out of the microwave. You have to eat them quickly, though, or they get hard as a rock.

I never got into Peeps... it kind of reminds of those pink marshmallow and coconut cupcakes by Hostess. Yuck!!!! But I do know that there are many Peeps fans out there..my poor deprived children, I never bought them Peeps for Easter probably because I hated them..

Do they explode when you microwave them?? ;)

Can't stand them myself. BUt DBF loves them. Couldn't find them one year and asked a sales clerk for PEEPS and he had n clue what they were until I asked if they had the icky yellow chicks.

Did you know that PEEPS have their own web site?

http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com

I hope the link works. Not sure how to make it active.

That is sooooo funny. Quote of the day for sure!!! heheheheh lol :rotfl:

I hide them for about a month so they are just slightly stale and nice & chewy. The ONLY way to eat a peep!

My younegst daughter brought home a book from the school library....Magical Disney Recipes. One recipe that she bugged me to make was called the Seven Dwarfs caps. It calls for white sugar, powered sugar, vanilla, cream of tarter and 4 whipped egg whites. We just made them and they taste EXACTLY like a marshmellow peep!! :p She is so pleased with herself. :D That is....until I take a hair brush to her head and try to brush out the splattered sugary mess!!

LOL, I had some peeps for breakfast. :earseek: Only fresh peeps for me.
