Chapter 58. Thursday, February 7th. Day 8. Part 11. ESPN and a NY Drunk.
I thought I'd better finish up day 8......
Yes, it will be 3 months on the 13th since my return from WDW. I am now in the process of trying to squeeze another WDW trip sometime this year....it's a long shot, but I'm looking at my finances right now....
So when we last left you we were on our way out of World Showcase and on our way back to the Beach Club Villas...
I was able to shower and change. It didn't seem like anyone was going to join me at ESPN or maybe I said no..I need my alone time. In any case, I made the short trip over to the Boardwalk and took my seat at the bar. My buddy, Matt, was working so all was right in the world.
I was working my way to feeling quite happy when I received a phone call and it was KATGARCIA. We had been trying to meet and just hadn't connected. It was close to their departure date and we knew we didn't have many more opportunities to meet. They were staying at the BWVs and they said they would stop by.
Good DIS mojo today.
Soon they stopped in and we hugged it out and gabbed like long time friends....Check out her TR if you want a good laugh....
As I look back, I remember thinking..."I'm totally slurring my words".
I was a little "happy". We chatted a bit more and then they needed to go, but we were able to get off a few pix:

We hugged and then said our goodbyes. I am so glad we got to meet......
I ended up closing ESPN and moved to Atlantic Dance Hall. I don't think I went in, but just stayed on the Boardwalk, enjoying the night and silence.

Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance closed and I stuck around after the crowd dispersed to again enjoy this wonderful time alone......
Drunk Alert!!!!!
I was sitting by myself when a gentleman comes up to me and asks where I got my beer. I said I got it awhile ago and all the bars are now closed. He was bummed and a bit drunk.
I said that I had a sixer in my room and that he could have a few if he wanted....He was a bit stunned, but he was jonesing for more alcohol. So we walked to the BCV. I went upstairs and grabbed 3 beers and we sat down and enjoyed a few drinks......
We chatted about our vacations...He was there with his "soon-to-be-ex-wife". He and his fiancee had just gotten engaged. They had been together for 12 years and he just said it was just time to fish or cut bait. He certainly didn't seem to be too excited about his impending nuptials.
In fact, he then started talking about his fiancee's shortcomings....
. I didn't know him at all so I didn't give him my whole "Then Why Are You Getting Married" speech, but I sure was thinking it.
So I decided to change the unhappy subject to work....I asked him what he did. He was a business owner. We talked about that for a bit. Then just for laughs I asked him about the Sopranos. I said I had never been to New York and I asked him as a New Yorker if he thought it was fair that this stereotype is put out there about New York and the mafia. He laughed and said well if someone encroached on his business and tried to take business from him, he definitely had connections and those people would be "taken care of"......
WHAT???
So now I'm thinking of all the places I could be buried at WDW and never be found......
He changes the subject back to his fiancee....
I don't really hear him as I start to plot out my escape routes.....
Can I dial my cell without him knowing?
Can I fake him out and say I know kung fu?
Luckily it didn't come to that as his fiancee started texting him asking where he was......
Phew!!! Crisis averted....I wasn't going to be joining Jimmy Hoffa anytime soon.......
Off to bed I went just happy to be alive....
And that my friends ends Day 8.........
