Bars with video poker are my weakness that's why I haven't been to Vegas in 4 years.

I'm glad I didn't get whacked either. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I love a good conversation. I don't really care who it's with. You should see me in lines for rides......My friends/family go crazy because I'll strike up a conversation with anyone. It sure makes time go faster......:thumbsup2

I love chatting with strangers too, most of all at Disney! My dad and I have always done it while in line for stuff, and my brother always gets embarrassed but we have met so many interesting people and had so many fun stories come of it. Kinda like yours...except for the poor fiancee who's out there somewhere!

Chapter 58. Thursday, February 7th. Day 8. Part 11. ESPN and a NY Drunk.

I don't really hear him as I start to plot out my escape routes.....
Can I dial my cell without him knowing?
Can I fake him out and say I know kung fu?

Luckily it didn't come to that as his fiancee started texting him asking where he was......

Phew!!! Crisis averted....I wasn't going to be joining Jimmy Hoffa anytime soon.......

Yeah, I always embarrass the people I'm with, but you have to gauge your linemates....

There's this whole etiquette to starting a conversation.

1) If they avoid any eye contact, avoid starting a conversation.

2) If you're not sure of their conversation compatibility, start with something simple like "Sure is hot or this line is moving awfully slow" If they respond favorably or answer with another question of their own, you know you have a line friend.....

3) Another way to tell if people are willing to start up a conversation...say something funny and if people laugh, you know they were eavesdropping on your conversation anyways. So, why not start up a conversation....!!!!:thumbsup2

Yes, I think too much about certain things.....;)

WENDY- the comment about the inanimate objects cracks me up:rotfl: I could really see him doing that, lol.

Yes - I guess sometimes depending on how drunk he is, inanimate objects probably seem like animate ones. Ha ha ha. :rotfl:

I am very respectful of the opposite sex. Ask Kim my roommate from the trip..

"Respectful" apparently has a broad usage. Methinks I recall some interesting photos (and thought bubbles) after Kali River Rapids...

That's where we all get our inner confidence from (with regards to talking to people around us)... Jordan opens those doors so then we all chat. Most of us don't do it on our own for fear of getting that "who are these people trying to talk to us?!" look. But Erin clearly is taking after Jordan in her inhibited chatting with anyone and anything.

I have your back, but I'd have it more often if you were around more.....you must be busy....:thumbsup2

I know you do, my comment wasn't aimed at you Jordy! I know I've been MIA, working two jobs and being in a new relationship can do that to you...I am really enjoying reliving the trip when I get the chance to check in! :goodvibes

57 pages in just over 2 weeks???!!!??? Good God Man, you're getting to the point where you'll need 250 pages for each CHAPTER!!!

As you know I had some work and then some BIG family stuff that kept me off the boards so I'm wayyyyy behind. But I will get back on the crazy Jordan funtastic spectacular and get caught up somehow.

All Hail Flat Winkers!!! :yay:  :yay:

Sorry for hijacking your thread! I'll try to keep it to a minimum. Also, loved your update! All of your drunk interactions are :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: . Maybe I should start visiting the bars at WDW just for entertainment! I am also that person who talks to everyone, especially in lines. It's extra nice if you end up seeing those people more than once wherever you are. And these people that don't know about Cold Stone Creamery are missing out! Even in Maine we have a couple! My favorite is mocha ice cream with brownies and almonds. Yum! I hope your week goes well and I will be anxiously awaiting the next update!

I can't even PRETEND that I have caught up with this report, but I have been reading bits and pieces and enjoying it all! This "Etiquette of Conversation Starting" just tickled me - because I am the QUEEN of starting conversations with strangers! DH is used to it, after 22 years of marriage, but DD rolls her eyes, or dies of embarassment! (funny how that happens with 14 year olds..... :lmao: )

I like to start conversations with strangers based on what people are wearing...like I'm a UConn grad and a big Red Sox fan, and I always see people in the parks wearing Huskies/Sox stuff so I'll start up a conversation that way. I love "bonding" with people over commonalities like that while we're waiting in line. We also start chatting with random CMs that way too, because they'll be from the New England area and see us wearing that stuff and get excited. Add that one to your list, Jordan!! :thumbsup2

On the subject of Line Talking as opposed to "Dancing":lmao: My fav. was at Soarin'! I chatted to a family while in line and sjhared with them my Robot making for DGS .:thumbsup2 Their son loved it and they wanted details on where to go! Later They spotted me and held up 2 Robots and yelled big Thankyous ! Ah the Pixie Dust!!

The Untouchables with Kevin Costner is one of my all time favorite movies.....

Mine too :). I remember watching it for the first time and bawling like a baby during the Sean Connery scene -- you know the one I am talking about.

Another way to tell if people are willing to start up a conversation...say something funny and if people laugh, you know they were eavesdropping on your conversation anyways. So, why not start up a conversation....!!!!:thumbsup2

That description would be me -- I can't help but listen to other people's conversations in line -- natural curiosity or something -- unless they are arguing, then I try to ignore them as much as possible.

Hey! Don't think that you can just drop that in there and not tell us more.....we want all the juicy details Miss Kim :lovestruc

Glad you didn't get whacked. :rotfl: Although sleeping with the fishes in WDW would have to be better than sleeping with the fishes in Jersey (ala Tony S.).

Great update!

I'm a magnet for people like you. :rotfl: I've been told I have "that face." You know the one - you see a person, start chatting and feel like you can tell them your life story AND feel good about it afterwards. Yup. That's me. I think I should have been a therapist.

I can't believe how quickly your TR racks up the page count. Everyone just loves you, I guess!:confused3 :)

The pictures of the empty Boardwalk are awesome! I'll have to try that someday.. maybe I can pick up a drunk and get TMI too!!

I cannot read everyone's responses.
