PM is private message. These are usually handled through this newgroup, so you don't have to give out your home email address. If you click on the posters screenname, there is an option to send a private message to them.

Hi Everyone!! Just wanted to let all of you know who I said I would sent postcards to, that we weren't able to get there this weekend as an illness hit our family.
