Today we are venturing off site and going to Universal Studios, we arrived at the parking lot at around 9.30 am and parked up, having to pay for parking was a shock.
By the time wed walked to the main gate and got our tickets it was nearly 10 am.
The crowds were minimal to say the least, we played spot the person at one point. Although we enjoy Universal Studios, a lot of its attractions are in need of some serious updates. We headed round to the newest attraction, Revenge of the Mummy. After storing our stuff in a locker, we walked through the never ending queue area and straight onto the ride. We decided to ride it a second time despite it taking longer to walk through the empty queue than it does to ride.
Next up was Earthquake where the pre-show wasnt running, so we went straight onto the subway. Jaws was next, in this area of the park there were more staff than guests. We had a brilliant hostess on Jaws who really got into her role. Ruth managed to get slightly wet and as always screamed her way through the ride (shes so funny to watch). Men in Black was next, another walk on.
We continued around the park and were just in time for the Animal Actors show, this was better when it was sponsored by Animal Planet, but it is still quite good. The ET Adventure was next, another very dated attraction. Characters from Madagascar were out and looking lonely, since the crowds were obviously elsewhere.
We enjoyed the Terminator 2 3D show next, before heading to the Monster Café for something to eat, I went for Pizza and Ruth had pasta. After lunch we did Twister, Shrek 4D and Jimmy Neutrons Nicktoon Blast.
We decided to head round to Islands of Adventure for a few hours, where Ruth went on Hulk by herself (you wont catch me on that), before we both went on Spiderman.
We meandered through Toon Lagoon grabbing an ice-cream on our way to Jurassic Park where we went on the River Adventure. Ruth screamed at the dinosaurs, I just closed my eyes and prayed on the way down the big drop! Surprisingly we didnt get too wet.
We continued around the park to the Lost Continent where Ruth went on Duelling Dragons twice by herself (I know Im a coward). We then decided to go on Poseidon's Fury since we hadnt seen it for 6 years, Ruth didnt like this and found it dull but it was a break from the sun.
After wandering round Seuss Landing wed had enough and the park was about to close so off we headed back to the car.
Tonight we had Dinner at Capn Jacks at Downtown Disney, we both had the Crab cakes to start
Ruth decided on the Pan-Seared Salmon
while I had the Pot Roast (which was delicious)
For dessert Ruth had the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake
and I had my usual Chocolate Cake.
We then spent the evening wandering around the shops at DD and buying more presents before heading back to our resort.
