I think most of us outside New England found the Red Sox to be more charming when they were lovable losers. Now they're just "Yankees-lite" to many of us.
As for the Celts... I don't know that there's a lot of historic animosity about them. Remembering back to the dynasty of the 80's, everybody was just in awe of Bird and company.
The Patriots? eeeehhh.. there's just something about that whiff of arrogance coming off this team and some of those who loved them ths year. Those of us who are not die-hard NE fans didn't take too kindly to that. After they get their faces punded in the turf for a while, miss the playoffs for a long time, and find themselves looking up at the rest of the division for a couple of decades, all will be forgiven.
Boston College... I admire the program -especially Coach Skinner and the basketball team. I'm glad they're in the ACC so I get to see them regularly. I just aways pull against them against the Big Four (NC State, Duke, Carolina, Wake). BC is like "adopted family" now.
