Just wondering if this has been tried on here before, kind of surprised there isn't a dedicated forum for it like for the cancelled ADRs.

We're going to WDW in just over 2 weeks and have things we don't intend on bringing back home (like a misting fan and a few other things).

We'd prefer to hand them off to someone just getting on-site so they don't need to buy/bring them.
Has a forum been tried for freebies to be picked up on-site from another DIS'er at a certain date?

Years ago I used to read here and that was a thing. I don't know why it fell out of fashion but I believe people did it with strollers and boxes and all sorts of things. Maybe if it's still allowed some of us could start a couple up. I'd be willing to do one at POR in January.

I've seen things like this on some of the resort-specific threads, but I never look at the resorts board any more so I don't know if it still goes on.

They had the one for the refrigerator , but it was kept at disney. Then they went and put them in all the rooms. I saw one for xmas trees if I remember rightly. But I have not seen any of those threads in a long time.

Post what you have leftover and someone will likely want it. I did this with our leftover water last year. I left it at reception for a family checking in the day we checked out.

There used to be long-running threads - but then it became complicated, and some people weren't following up with labeling the item for the next person, etc., etc.

I think if you want to leave items for someone, that's a lovely idea. Just ask if there is anyone checking into ____ resort on ____ - that you have items you'd like to pass along for them. I'm sure someone would be happy at your offer to help.

That's what I'll do, on our last days I'll make a list of leftover items and post on here! If not, strangers in the lobby will do :)

There is a DVC free cycle Facebook group where people post what they want to pass along. There might be one for the non DVC resorts too.
