I feel the same way about aquariums that have seafood restaurants attached to them. I can only imagine what the fish are thinking:

"I guess Skippy didn't do the routines right yesterday. He's now part of the fish n chips combo platter."

:rotfl2: I know!

Looks good to me. We have a VERY similar 1st 3 days. The only difference is our MK/MGM days are filp flopped (and our MVMCP is on the 9th). But we check into the POR on the 7th with RGR too and that is also our CP night and are looking forward to having EMH after the Illuminations.

Speaking of CP on the 7th, I know WDWinfo has put Blair Underwood in for the 5th-7th (which I am excited for), but the official site and allears still have it as "TBA". I'm starting to get a little antsy about putting my faith that he will be the narrator. Am I being paranoid? PLEASE someone say I'm being paranoid... :crazy2:

I'll be on the look out for you!!

Sorry, nope, I'm not about to make you feel any better about the narrator for the 7th because I feel the same! I just asked on another thread how those sites got their info.

Happy Monday everyone!

Over the weekend I managed to book some ADR's we really wanted. Remember, I only just got this trip about a week ago and we're 75 days out - for the planner in me this is too long away because EVERY SINGLE DAY I will look at the schedule and over analyze ALL. OF. IT.

We booked Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner on 12/3 @ 7:50. This was our fave meal of the trip back in June. Yes, I know - it's not gourmet by any means but I loved basically all of it. It was comfort food to the max!

Also, I'd been stuck on where to book with our dinner Candlelight package. Our options were Coral Reef, Nine Dragons or San Angel. Looked again over the weekend and found Via Napoli so instantly booked it. Coral Reef was our original choice but the cost combined with the mixed reviews wasn't doing it for me. I've heard great things about Via Napoli so I'm much better now. :thumbsup2

I'm hoping to convince manfriend we need to do Kona Cafe for breakfast. He's not a big breakfast person but I LOVE all breakfast - all the time. Only problem is its at the Poly and too close to O'hana...

We did O'hana back in June and no one in my party liked it like I thought they would. I think I had talked it up so much based on reviews I'd read that it left us flat. Parts of the meal were enjoyed - like the noodles and wings but the majority of the meal was too different for their liking... remember though these were teenagers and pre-teens - zero appreciation. :confused3

anyway... back to the list of food!

QS places I'm hoping to try this time around:
Pecos Bill's at MK
Restaurantosaurus (sp?) at AK
Kringla Bakery at Epcot

and still missing one for DHS...

any ideas?

I'm sad we won't get Mickey Mail this trip... we're staying at the Hilton at DTD so no ME or luggage tags for us... but we get EMH and transportation to the parks - still a win

I would have picked Via Napoli too!! Glad that worked out.
CS at DHS. :crazy2: We ate at Pizza Planet and ABC Commissary last year. Both were fine, nothing great. Will probably do PP again and something else, not sure. We like to go to DHS a couple mornings to ride TSMM, but I dont like eating there.

I thought you only got EMH if you stayed at a Disney Resort - thats interesting info, thanks :)

11th MK day - Early go to GF to see Gingerbread House, then follow on to MK. 12.30pm Liberty Tree Tavern 4.55pm Crystal Palace ***Christmas Party!!!***

We are going to the party on the 11th too! Did you put your name on our list? Here it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AuKRA20FjgSVdGtiTjRXZkNuZEhIZ0hLZERGdUpGUVE

By the way, I just looked at the list for the first time in a few weeks, looks like our night is going to be crowded with roll call-ers! :santa:

We too are eating at Via Napoli for CP (12/7). I can't wait. We cancelled our ADR there last year because it was too much running for us that day.

DH wasn't impressed with O'Hana either even though I LOVE it.

DHS - we like Pizza Planet for CS

Panic mode :scared: I'm 81 days out, all plans locked in so now all I have to do is stare and stare and state at my plans. No tweaking left.

But now I'm looking and I want to change everything! Suddenly, if I switch this, swap that it will be better. Must. Step. Away.

Tell me this is a great plan (lie if you have to) :rotfl2:

7th arrive around noon. Explore resort (POR RR's) hop on ferry to DTD to shop and snack. 5pm head to Epcot. 5.45pm Via Napoli 8.15 CP 9.30 Illuminations head to FW and spend EMH there.

8th MK day - 8.10am CRT reservation, hit Fantastyland before big crowds get there. 4.25pm Be Our Guest 6.15 (approx) Castle lights up Electric Parade & Wishes.

9th HS day EMH night - 12.30 50's Prime Time Cafe Fantasmic 6.30 (hoping they add a second one, if so then I'll tweak) 7.50pm Hollywood Brown Derby

10th Epcot day - finish off FW and the concentrate on WS. 12.30 Biergarten 6.20pm Rose & Crown

11th MK day - Early go to GF to see Gingerbread House, then follow on to MK. 12.30pm Liberty Tree Tavern 4.55pm Crystal Palace ***Christmas Party!!!***

12th AK day - Tuskers 1pm Leave AK at closing head to DTD 6pm T-Rex and build a dinosaur yay! La Nouba 9pm

13th - home *blows raspberry* :(

I think it looks fine and matches our touring style - long but slow-paced days.

Hows it look - you can be honest really :p

Looks good! Love the 8th--both castles in one day. :thumbsup2 There is just one thing I would change. Switch to the week after that one, so I can meet you!!!! :goodvibes

So last week was a rough week. On Wed., my FIL fell and hit his head. When he came to he couldn’t feel his legs or hands. He was taken to the Shock Trauma Center and on Thursday he had surgery for 3 fractured vertebrae in his neck. They put in a couple rods, a metal plate and several plastic implants. The surgery went well and the MRI came back clean. He won’t need a second surgery (there was a 50% chance of that). He can move his legs and hands but they’re weak. He’s being moved to a rehab facility today. On the plus side, he had a triple bypass a year and a half ago so he’s considerably healthier and stronger than he was before that. He lost weight, eats better and exercises daily. And he worked really hard in his last rehab to get that way. So the outlook is optimistic.

Still, we’re only 77 days out from our trip. DH and I discussed it and the four of us are still going. But we have no idea if my in-laws will go or not, and if they do, how much they will or won’t do. It’s likely they won’t go, but in a couple days I’m going to present them with the options and encourage them to wait to make the decision. I’ve booked Room Only, and since I already split our room into the 1BDR and the Studio, it would be easy to cancel just the Studio. Same with the tour and the ADRs. And no hurry to do it. The plan is the plan whether they come for all, part or none of it so I want them to do what works for them.

At least, that’s what I’m going to tell them. As you’ve probably already figured out, I don’t do so well with plans being unsettled. I would truly rather have them decide to come at the last minute than have a clear “No” now, but it is definitely going to be a test of my patience and flexibility. On the plus side, making alternate park plans will give me something to do. ;-)

So send a little pixie dust our way. I think we’re going to need it.

Oh wow, hope FIL is okay and recovers quickly!! Hopefully they will get to go, but I understand how you feel about it all being up in the air. I know you were conflicted about separating the rooms, so glad you did it since it gives you more flexibility now. Will be thinking of FIL!!!!

Here's to a speedy recovery for you FIL! pixiedust: My thoughts are with your family.

We loved Liberty Tree Tavern too!

I thought you only got EMH if you stayed at a Disney Resort - thats interesting info, thanks :)

The Hilton at DTD is the only good neighbor hotel that allows their visitors to take advantage of EMH. We stayed onsite in June and really loved it. Access to ME alone was huge. But for the rate we got and since it's just me and manfriend - the Hilton couldn't be passed up. It's less expensive than a value and gives us access to less expensive dining options. Not to mention the Starbucks next door! WOOHOO...

Is it sad that my mouth waters when I think of the the LTT meal? OH EM GEE, I was in heaven... the mac and cheese, turkey, stuffing and dessert... Lord help me. :goodvibes

Tltorrez, my thoughts are with you and sending pixiedust: your way. You can't help to think of the timing of such events. Sure, there is NEVER a good time for something like this but had it happened a year sooner, your FIL might have had a far worse outcome. At least he can look at all the wonderful work he's done with his health and know he has the power. Best wishes for a full and fast recovery.

Here's hoping FIL feels much better, very soon.

Question: Did they need to do any fusion of any of the vertebrae? It doesn't sound like it, via your description.

Check with his doctor to get their impressions ...every injury/surgery is slightly different. But there is a very good chance, 82 days postop, his actual injury will be pretty much healed around the implements (rods and plate) they used to stabilize. Especially if, 5 days postop, they've moved him to a rehab facility (it means they're not worried about Surgical Site infections and think he's ready, at least pretty quickly, for PT/OT). There's a good chance he'll be healed enough to travel (probably with a scooter, though) in 77 days.

Now, that doesn't mean he SHOULD travel...that will be up to his PT doc, his OT therapist, and how much (if any) effect they think it would have on his PT/OT progress. If he works hard, and sees good results (no reinjuries or setbacks...both possibilities with back/neck injuries like this)....there's a decent chance they can join you. So don't give up hope! :)

He might not be able to do much in terms of rides, etc (again, up to his doctors...but you have to be relatively cautious, obviously)...but that doesn't mean he can't share in the trip.
