PART FIVE!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

I'm fine-tuning my packing list today, and am making one for DS20 who is flying directly to Orlando from CO. I texted him and reminded him to make a shuttle reservation, and he said, "Ooooh yeah... I guess so." But finals week is coming up, so it's understandable that he might forget. He is making me nervous, though. We don't call him the absent-minded professor for nothing....

Oh dear. Fingers crossed that he remembers!

It's weird packing for just myself. Normally I pack for DH too.

T-45 minutes (give or take). My mom is en route to our hose now and then it's on the road we go. I can't wait for the warm sunshine tomorrow. Can't wait for dinner at Raglan Rd tomorrow night.

Woot! I wish we could do Raglan Rd this trip but that will give us something to do next trip :)

TSMM isn't a huge priority. If we really need to ride it, we can wait in the queue (neither of us minds waiting). I talked to my Mom, and it sounds like she'd rather do AK than Sci-Fi, so that made it easier. She wants to do EE, LOL!

We'll see how it goes Tuesday I suppose. I can always call and cancel Kona, and you never know what might open up! If we're done with MK early (it's supposed to be a really low level crowd day, so it's entirely possible!) then we can bounce over to HS for Fantasmic. We might end up at HS 3 times, but I'm okay with that. It has some of my favorite stuff. AK and Epcot get the shaft in my planning, LOL.

ETA: If they'd just add another Fantasmic on Wednesday I'd be GOLDEN!`

Tuesday we'll be at MK all day too! It's our MVMCP evening so we plan on making it a very long day/night!

Our schedules are similar.

Monday arrive ~1pm on Amtrak, check in, MK and then 9:20 at Narcoossee's.
Tuesday - 9:05 Kona, Epcot, 1:20 LCdF, 7:30 LC
Wed - 10:15 CRT, then hop to DHS, then DTD 9:00 Fulton's. I'm hoping to see F! this day so we don't have to go back on Saturday.
Thurs - AK - 9:35 Tusker House, 2:00 Y&Y, 9:00 Yachtsman
Friday - MK - 9:55 CP, MVMCP, TTDP
Saturday - 9:10 1900PF - then either back to DHS for our 2:15 MM F! package if we didn't do F! on Wed or WS. 9:00 CR
Sunday- either 8:20 Akershus or 10:35 'Ohana then WS or ?? 8:30 HDDR

I'm still tweaking them. I switched Yachtsman and Fulton's this morning. Considering cancelling LCdF for this trip and I really hope we get to see F! on Wednesday night so that would free up Saturday.

Hey, wave to me when you get to Yachtsman! Our ADR is at 8:45 on thursday! We'll be at Epcot all day that day so I will probably just be wearing park clothes.....no fancy duds here!

Kids this age are just so used to never having to deal with anything during their flights. I keep telling them to NEVER travel without three things: A charged cell phone. A credit card. And some cash. I don't care if it's a direct flight or a drive to the next city (although, that's 120 miles from here so I have to add a coat to the list- people regularly freeze to death around here).

Anyway, DD18 was going back to CA after Thanksgiving, connecting through SLC, and as we get in the car to take her to the airport, I asked her if she had any cash. Nope. Not even $20.

Well, thank goodness she's coming home this Friday and flying with the rest of us to MCO, so I can just worry about them one at a time!

Finally home from work! I ended up leaving 30 minutes late but that's okay, extra $ in my pocket. Going to try and relax tonight, double check our schedule. Tomorrow is laundry and errands, Tuesday is anything I don't get to tomorrow and we leave Wednesday!

It really does seem so surreal to me that this trip really is going to happen. Of course, we've all been planning for months and months but when it's so far away it just doesn't seem real. Hearing people packing their car and going to the airport.... and reporting from the parks with food porn.....it's really hit me! :faint:

Since I know everyone is fond of cupcakes, I thought I would share a photo of first one of the trip.

This is the S'mores Cupcake purchased at Roaring Forks at WL. I give it a 7 out of 10. The Marshmallow frosting is great, but the cake texture reminds me of carrot cake.

Yes, that's what is making me finally get off my fanny and do something..
except I'm still on my fanny- but I am doing something!

H.E.L.L.O beautiful. :rotfl2: I want to gobble up that cupcake right now! A Roaring Forks cupcake is on my list! I did sort of want to try that one, though......i wonder what other cupcakes they have?

They also have vanilla and carrot cake cupcakes :)

Oh man......now I'm trying to figure out how we can do this CS twice during our trip! So one hour from start of line to end of meal? That isn't bad at all! I bet the key is getting their early. The word has probably gotten around now. What room did you dine in?
I was thinking of that salad but the pork just seems so yummy. I think if we do it twice we'll have to pay for one oop......did you have any of the desserts? We'll get an appetizer, entree, dessert, and beverage each.....which is a lot of food! Hey, is that true......if you're on the DxDDP you get an appetizer too, right? My brain is mush right now. :sad2:

You get an appetizer for your TS meals, but I think CS is entree, dessert, drink like it is on the regular DP.

Yum! That one is on my list!

You are correct, Val. I JUST looked at the brochure and CS is just entree, dessert, and beverage, just like you said. BOG is the only CS meal I have planned since we decided to go with DxDDP. Makes sense, too, since for the same credits you get more at a TS. Of course we will probably NEVER do the DxDDP again.....which is good since my metabolism is slowing to a snails pace :rotfl2:

Just think of all the walking you will be doing in between the restaurants. I'm sure it will all even out, right? :rotfl2:

We have the DxDP. I posted our ADRs, we have all of our credits accounted for and we'll end up paying for either 2 lunches OOP or use snack credits and just get a snacky item.

I'm still not sure how I'm going to eat it all, or still be able to fit in my jeans when we're done. I packed plastic utensils on my suitcase so we can have leftovers. It's ALOT of food.

I read somewhere that people walk about 8 miles a day at WDW. So that's 800 calories! Or about two of those luscious-looking cupcakes .

I have a question for anyone with FP+... is it possible to change with my FP+ ressies without losing the ones I have? They're not bad, but it's the nature of a DISer to adjust, fine-tune or just plain tinker with the plans.....

AAAH! Spoons, I forgot THE SPOONS.
(We're eating in the room every morning).
Thanks for the reminder!

Disney cupcakes have zero calories. It was part of Walt's plan. The man was a genius. :rotfl2:

I can send you my packlist. It has some very odd things on it, like bubble wrap and fennel. (j/k) :rotfl:

I try to believe all vacation food has no calories.

We are having a contest at work, the most steps win, since we have the SonicBoom program with the pedometers that get updated from a receiver in the office. So I'll come back after having worn it the time I was gone..

Smart girl! Memo to self.....pack plasticware and a few ziplock baggies, or better yet, a few cheap/flattish plastic containers for leftovers! I will probably have a few cupcakes in those glorious crushproof containers

Yes. Go to https://fastpassplus.disney.go.com/Home.aspx and click on change. Then the MK and DHS choices pop up. Click the one you want to change. Then I believe it's at the top of the next screen the first choice is "change attraction", the second choice is "change time". Click on the one that is applicable then the rest is self explanatory.

Have they already declared you the winner? :cool1:

Apparently DH really wants to go, so no solo trip for me. He asked tonight if the trip could be moved back to January, if his vacation gets messed up for December. So of course, I have been investigating January for the last hour. Those 2's and 3's are looking better than the 7's and 8's I have now. I didnt look for any ADRs yet. He said he would pin the boss down tomorrow and get some answers. We'll see. popcorn::
