PART FIVE!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

Hi!! Semi live trip report while I am on the People Mover! Just wanted to let everyone know that we got in line for lunch at Be Our Guest at about 10:55 and the CM said the line was about 45 mins long. We waited, ate, looked around and used the restroom and when we left my watch said 11:55 so don't let the long line scare you away. Also, husband had the seared tuna salad, I shared the braised pork with DS and we tried the French onion soup and everything was fabulous! Hands down best QS on property as well some of the best food in general.

T-45 minutes (give or take). My mom is en route to our hose now and then it's on the road we go. I can't wait for the warm sunshine tomorrow. Can't wait for dinner at Raglan Rd tomorrow night.

May I have some opinions on some last minute schedule rearranging?

My mom has been hinting a bit that she'd like to go to Animal Kingdom, so I'm trying to rearrange things to make that possible. I'd also like to spend a good long while at the Osborne lights, and was thinking I'd split HS into two visits - one for the lights, and another for Fantasmic. So, it now looks like this. Any opinions would be appreciated!

Mon, Dec 10: Arrive at 2:30 at MCO. Head to MK to see the Main Street Electrical Parade and Fireworks. Ride Haunted Mansion and call it a night.

Tue, Dec 11: Chef Mickey's for Breakfast. Magic Kingdom, then head to Kona at 7:15 for dinner. Take the monorail around to see decorations etc.

Wed, Dec 12: The original plan was to do HS all day, with lunch at Sci-Fi, then hit Fantasmic and Osborne lights. I still kind of like this plan. Revised plan is the morning at AK, then to HS for dinner at Sci-Fi at 6:00, then do Osborne lights.

Thurs, Dec 13: All day at Epcot. La Cellier at 6:15, Illuminations.

Fri, Dec 14: Magic Kingdom in the morning. Lunch at Liberty Tavern at 12:15. HS in the evening, with Fantasmic being the last thing we do.

My only concern is if Fantasmic gets rained out, it's one of the things my mom specifically wants to to (that and Sci-Fi).

Thoughts?

Edit: Alternately, on Tuesday we could do half a day at MK, then bounce over to HS in the evening.

I was going to say what you edited to add--use Tuesday night for Fantasmic if you dont mind giving up Kona. Just wait to see what the weather looks like. Also, thought you could leave Wed alone and go to AK after lunch on Friday. It is open till 6, so you would have a few hours. I would need a morning in HS to ride TSMM, so that is what I would do.

TSMM isn't a huge priority. If we really need to ride it, we can wait in the queue (neither of us minds waiting). I talked to my Mom, and it sounds like she'd rather do AK than Sci-Fi, so that made it easier. She wants to do EE, LOL!

We'll see how it goes Tuesday I suppose. I can always call and cancel Kona, and you never know what might open up! If we're done with MK early (it's supposed to be a really low level crowd day, so it's entirely possible!) then we can bounce over to HS for Fantasmic. We might end up at HS 3 times, but I'm okay with that. It has some of my favorite stuff. AK and Epcot get the shaft in my planning, LOL.

Thanks for the thoughts Valgoof!

ETA: If they'd just add another Fantasmic on Wednesday I'd be GOLDEN!`

I spent a million years putting together ADRs months ago and just redid all but two of them. :rolleyes1

Our schedules are similar.

Monday arrive ~1pm on Amtrak, check in, MK and then 9:20 at Narcoossee's.
Tuesday - 9:05 Kona, Epcot, 1:20 LCdF, 7:30 LC
Wed - 10:15 CRT, then hop to DHS, then DTD 9:00 Fulton's. I'm hoping to see F! this day so we don't have to go back on Saturday.
Thurs - AK - 9:35 Tusker House, 2:00 Y&Y, 9:00 Yachtsman
Friday - MK - 9:55 CP, MVMCP, TTDP
Saturday - 9:10 1900PF - then either back to DHS for our 2:15 MM F! package if we didn't do F! on Wed or WS. 9:00 CR
Sunday- either 8:20 Akershus or 10:35 'Ohana then WS or ?? 8:30 HDDR

I'm still tweaking them. I switched Yachtsman and Fulton's this morning. Considering cancelling LCdF for this trip and I really hope we get to see F! on Wednesday night so that would free up Saturday.

We are five minutes from the airport. It's a little airport- you would laugh- (but it's international- we have flights to Canada!!) so the air traffic over the house is not annoying, fortunately. Even if it's below zero here we only have to survive from the curb to the airport door (poor DH has to sprint 100 yards from the parking lot, though). Coming back can be pretty cold, however, if the car has been sitting in subzero temps for a week.

I thought my Mountain Hardwear shell was overkill for Florida, so I just bought a little packable waterproof shell to stuff in my bag. And a fleece, and probably a sweater and a couple of long sleeved shirts. Since I only bring a carryon I don't ever bring jeans or sweatshirts, it's all this little travel wardrobe I've developed over the years- mostly synthetics with a little wool, silk or rayon depending on the climate. It all washes and dries really quickly, too. :)

And- good thing you mentioned gloves! Have to add those to the list.

Glad I could help - I'm trying to remember the little things.. it's why I've been "packing" for 2 months.

I can't believe I am still tweaking, but I am! I'd really like to leave Fri night open so we can head wherever we may have missed something, so I killed Liberty Tavern lunch and added a breakfast.

We'll figure it out eventually!!!

We are also doing DHS on Wednesday and MK on Friday. Our Sci-Fi ADR is for 4:45 on 12/12.

Finally home from work! I ended up leaving 30 minutes late but that's okay, extra $ in my pocket. Going to try and relax tonight, double check our schedule. Tomorrow is laundry and errands, Tuesday is anything I don't get to tomorrow and we leave Wednesday!

Fri, Dec 14: Magic Kingdom in the morning. Lunch at Liberty Tavern at 12:15. HS in the evening, with Fantasmic being the last thing we do. You could do the Lights tonight first.....then you would still have time to get to Fantasmic for the 8pm show. It's also a late Epcot EMH if you need to squeeze in more of Epcot.

My only concern is if Fantasmic gets rained out, it's one of the things my mom specifically wants to to (that and Sci-Fi). I know it's 2 weeks out but it doesn't look like rain at this point!

It sure would be nice if you could stay at MK all day then do the resort tour. Are you worried you don't have enough time for DHS?

Oh man......now I'm trying to figure out how we can do this CS twice during our trip! So one hour from start of line to end of meal? That isn't bad at all! I bet the key is getting their early. The word has probably gotten around now. What room did you dine in?
I was thinking of that salad but the pork just seems so yummy. I think if we do it twice we'll have to pay for one oop......did you have any of the desserts? We'll get an appetizer, entree, dessert, and beverage each.....which is a lot of food! Hey, is that true......if you're on the DxDDP you get an appetizer too, right? My brain is mush right now. :sad2:

I was mostly concerned about making sure that Sci-Fi, Fantasmic, and Osbourne lights happen. The only other must do at HS is ToT, and that is easily accomplished! The two on Friday night definitely makes things a bit easier. You're right - the weather looks good so far. I'll check later in the week and decide then I suppose.

I really would like to do the resort tour too. It would be a nice low key way to end the first day.

Thanks for the feedback. :goodvibes
