Parley....Will That Get Me On The Ship Any Faster part 2

How many people are all packed and ready to go?

How many people are going to the mnsshp on October 20th?

We had late last year and had to change this year. It is too late for young kids. Our daughter was always to tired to eat and was kranky and did not want to sit still. They say they will come to take the kids but we like to eat with our daughter. With the late seating they have to take the kids because the kids are too tired to stay seated any longer. I would get your family moved to early seating if you can. If you do let me know. I called my TA yesterday and she somehow got our reservation changed to early seating. So now we are early seating.

Oh, I need to call Disney again then. I have been on the wait list for months. We don't have a TA who can do it for us since we booked through Priceline. Next time I think I will book through a TA since there was not a difference in price anyway. I will let you know if we can change. If not, we'll probably do it when we board.

Ok my cop is very interested to know does he get to drive in the mean time? Here they dont take the licenses (although he is loving the idea) and driving without a license is a fineable offense. If the license is suspended then you can be arrested.

OK, not sure how it works in the states but here, when you get stopped for speeding the police have the option to issue you with a fixed penalty notice - you can choose to accept the penalty (i.e. admit/accept that you broke the law) and pay the fine/have your licence endorsed with penalty points (usually 3). Normally, you would send your licence and payment of the fine to the process office or majistrates court, who process the payment, handwrite the endorsement on the paper part of your licence and send it back to you. However, because my DH explained that he needed the licence back ASAP, they said it would be quicker for them to take his licence and then he calls up on Monday to pay the fine over the phone - that's the theory, hope it works in practice.

Oh, and yes he is still allowed to drive as he has a 'receipt' for his licence, which is what he would present if he got stopped again (which he won't!)

What happens there if you get caught speeding then?

They write you a ticket. There is a set fine for a certain amount over you go, then it is raised accordingly. If you want to dispute it you can go to court but more than likely you won't win. If you don't you pay the fine (Sean's speeding ticket was $300 for going 20 mph over) and/or in some cases you have to go to traffic school (another fee) Everything is computerized so the courts put the points on the DMV(dept of motor vehicles) and DMV can also notify your insurance. If you are driving without a license in your posession you get a fine, if you don't have one and your driving you go to jail, but if you are driving with a suspended license your car is towed and you can be arrested; which will cost you more fines and impound fees.

We are not packed but I have started putting clothes out int he spare room, ready to be laundered (if necessary) and packed. We won't pack until the morning we leave - DH always does the packing, I just decide what we will be taking.

We aren't going to MNSSHP this year - we have been 3 times before and it is great but we feel like we've 'been there, done that' for a while now and we've got such a packed itinerary for the week before the cruise, we just couldn't fit it in.

Wow, this thread is really picking up - you can tell we're getting close

We had a bit of a nightmare yesterday as DH got pulled over for speeding :guilty: meaning he had to surrender his licence to be sent off to DVLA to be endorsed. We now have to hope and pray that he gets it back in time for the holiday (as he will need it to show the rental car company) :sad2: Keep your fingers crossed for us.

wow! fingers crossed then!!:wizard::wizard:

I wonder if they'd have the ingredients onboard to make one.... I'm sure they have the right blender. If so, maybe a mini-healthy smoothie meet?
Who'd be up for it? Underdog, we may be able to convert you!
We can bring several recipes.

no converting Underdog..Strawberry is the only choice for this old dawg.:goodvibes

i'm sure they'll have the ingredients to make your kale one though..just throw a net out into the ocean and bring up some seaweed..:lmao: (i'm just picking on you guys..i'm sure its fine)

OMG!!!

I told Mike we need to get the clothes out that we want to pack...5 minutes later, he comes out of the bedroom and says,

"Ok, my clothes are ready." Are you kidding me!!!

Guys have it so easy!!!:headache:

thats kind of how we felt about MNSSHP..we really like it, but have done it 4 times (and last time Disney got cheap on the candy:rotfl:) so we figured we'd skip it this time.

That sounds great. Having never cruised before, what do we need to do? :confused3

I think we have to provide our names and reservation numbers to DCL to have them "linked" and then give them the details for our request.

Once linked, you can't make any Palo, spa, or excursion reservations, so everyone needs to be done with those (we are).

Wish we had time to go to WDW prior to the cruise. I know our little peanut would LOVE the MNSSHP!

Are you planning to keep the late seating? I was thinking about changing ours since I was not sure how the girls would do. I see that we are from the same time zone.

Well, if anyone doesn't mind dining with two young kids and two 30-something adults, we would love to have you join us.

Since we have a 4 month old and a 4 year old, and..well....at least my wife is 30-something...I'm a little more elder... We'd would love to sit with anyone who is in a similar boat. :grouphug:

Anyone know the max people they can get at a table together?

Currently we don't have our room# or seating assignment, but expect both soon....and plan on switching to the early sitting if needed... so if anyone is interested, we're game.

Just for the record:
From our experience over the past 3 years, the kids are too tired to eat at 8:00 are grumpy, etc. Eating at a normal time then going to the show is like eating dinner at home and letting them fall asleep on the couch while you watch tv/read/whatever. It feels more natural.
We also plan on trying to work it so the 4 month old is in Flounder's while we eat...wish us luck there!

No he can still drive Becky. The licence is surrendered so that the points can be added to it. You can have upto 9 points before you can't drive any more for a set period.
