Re the above, what approx times do they shut in August?

Also trying to sort out my dining plan, what times approx are the parades/fireworks on so do not book my meals around these times (say from 5pm).

Also I know it is best to book your meals at the 180 (it will be for us) days but will there still be a chance that I will not get all of my bookings? Do you normally have a back up restaurant to book if your original choice is not available??

there is always a chance you will not got your favs, book "special" meals towards the end of your hols, as, remember everyone booking in on the same day as you has the 180 option, however you ll have more chance of hitting "hard " meals if you can beat the people who arrive after you....
look at the planning section at the top and you ll be able to see the aug opening hours for this year, they are roughly the same every year.
they close earlier at the end of the month normally due to us school hols, but as they have extended the free ddp this might not be the case next year.
pay special attention to water parks as these are harder to fit in due to earlier closing times, we have looked for aug next year and theres only 1 late opening in the 3 weeks we are there.
arriving 4 ish means that most people will have already left and itll be quieter.
parks close between 9 (HS) and 1, depending on if you do emh, and obviously if you have small kids.
you could try and combine dining with fireworks (CG or ohanas pipe in music so you can appreciate wishes... HTH

As Tracy says look at this years times, will give you a good idea. link here http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm

From Tuesday they will go back to 180 days to book meals and they will also start showing opening times 180 days in advance so you shoukd be able to work it all out.

We got every restaurant we wanted this August at 90 days so you should be OK at 180, many US travellers don't book their trips 6 months out.

Thank you both :goodvibes This is great and just what I wanted .. i have printed out to show the gang ... yesterday we were trying to sort out itinerary out, so might put that on for your "once over" soon.

Re the opening times for 180 days, will this be under the same section of "planning"?
