I have read that the hotels are so close to Disney and that you can walk, however I am not at one of those hotels so I have to drive. Are there trams that take you from the parking lot or is the parking lot close? Does anyone know how much they charge to park and if there are any discounts? I also thought about doing the local bus ( I think I read that it will take you to Disney) has anyone done that and if so was it super crowded where you had to wait and wait for the next bus?

I believe that parking is something like $11 per day, and yes there are trams (though there are people who walk instead of tram).

If you're thinking of ART, you can check out their website...google anaheim resort? regional? transit and you should find it.

If you get your parkhoppers through aaa, parking is free for each day of your hopper.

Here's the ART website http://www.rideart.org/ . It's a $3-$12(adults) for a 1-5 day pass and $1-$4 (kids) depending on the # of days. We used when we stayed at Residence Inn at garden grove. Since we were one of the first stops picking up at the hotel, it was pretty empty. The next stop was Hyatt, i think, and it got pretty cowded quickly. I think a few people had to wait for the next bus.

We always park at DLR because it is cheaper to park ($11) than it is for us to pay for 6 people to ride ART. And we have our car and can leave if we want, whenever we want and come back if we want. Sometimes we sleep a little late and don't want to worry about the ART schedule.

The parking fee is good for all day, so if you want to leave and then come back you can. Just save your ticket.

Something else to think about too....if you're staying offsite, check your hotel doesn't charge for parking. We were going to stay at a hotel practically next door and they charged $10 a day for parking.

yes...alot of the hotels charge a parking fee...even the DLH, but since I booked through AAA it was free...we stayed at the Sheraton last year and it was $10 a day even though we didn't drive anywhere {luckily when we got there it was free becuase we booked through getawaytoday.com}...so check your hotel and make sure you won't be paying for parking x2

There are 2 parking lot choices-the Timon lot and the Mickey & Friends Parking Garage. Both of these have trams and both have walking paths. The Timon lot, however, is closer and not as many people, as it is a smaller lot. You have to get there at the right time they are parking it, though, which is not always the same. If they aren't parking there, they will send you to the parking garage. Oh, and there is one more lot if it's really crowded-the Simba lot. Sometimes they will direct you there from Timon. There is not tram service, but you walk thru downtown disney. It's a walk, but it's a nice walk. You don't have to go to Simba if they send you there, though. You can always proceed to the parking garage. :)
